Giveaway: $300 package from A Thomas Jefferson Education

//  by Jamie C. Martin

A Thomas Jefferson Education

This giveaway has ended; thanks for your interest!

Welcome to today’s giveaway, sponsored by A Thomas Jefferson Education (also known as TJEd)–the educational philosophy that has revolutionized my own family’s homeschool.

From Rachel DeMille of TJEd:

“TJEd” or “Leadership Education” is a philosophy and methodology that supports personalizing education for each child’s age, gifts and learning style.

Its focus on the 7 Keys of Great Teaching and the Phases of Learning really reduce stress and magnify inspiration.

One of the tools we provide is This Week in History–a daily resource that brings your homeschool or classroom to life!”

With a subscription to This Week in History, each day’s resources are an adventure in math, science, language skills, geography, current events, the arts and so on – all tied to events in history.

For just $9.99 per month, you have the world of learning available to help you lead and inspire your students to explore, learn and excel!”

“The content is searchable by date, topic and key word, and the whole year’s archive can be accessed by subscribers at any time.

  • See sample weeks here
  • Read user reviews

Of all the things you’ll spend $10 on each month, This Week in History is not only a great value, but a time saver and a worry eliminator. This Week in History:

  • relieves fear, stress and burnout
  • energizes your homeschool
  • fills in the gaps
  • cultivates cultural literacy
  • facilitates state or provincial compliance
  • correlates resources for co-ops, classrooms and family learning
  • harnesses the power of technology in a classical leadership education
  • harmonizes with Unschooling, Charlotte Mason, Montessori, Trivium/Quadrivium, IEW, eclectic, etc.
  • delivers new ideas and areas of learning to you and your child
  • instigates discussions and projects that expand wisdom and understanding
  • connects the subject areas–from music to math, from geography to world religions, from hobbies to science projects, etc.
  • motivates you and your students to greater excellence
  • empowers you to mentor your students in the classics
  • enlivens the 7 Keys of Great Teaching
  • activates the Phases of Learning

…so you can “Inspire, not Require.”

I’m already a user of the TJed system of learning and inspiring, so instead of entering myself, can I enter for another person and surprise them? I have a friend who would love this, just can’t afford it all at once. Her children are 7, 5, 4, 2, 2mo. It’s her second year homeschooling and she unknowingly lives the principles, she just needs the guidance that the mentoring could give her 🙂 Thanks a bunch for being so awesome 🙂

My children are 15, 12, 10, 7, 5, 3, and 1. I have heard so many good reviews of this curriculum through Simple Homeschool. I would like to read the resources and see what we could integrate into our own learning.

Hello Jaime! My children are 1, 4, and 6 years old And I’d love to win the subscription to Mentoring in the Classics! I took that class all last year and it was awesome! I loved the great introductions that got me excited to read each book, then discussing them on facebook, and then hearing the DeMilles discuss them at the end of the month, it was a great learning experience. It really changed how I learn from books! I’d recommend that class to anyone. I can’t afford to keep taking it this year, so I’ve had to drop it and it’s so sad to not have great discussions to look forward to. I live in a pace where people don’t read and discuss books, so that class was like a drop of cool water on a hot day. Love to win it!

My daughter is 13. I’d like to win this contest because my daughter would love “This Week in History” and I’d love to incorporate it into her history lessons. I also have been intrigued by the little bit I’ve read about Thomas Jefferson Education and would like to learn more. If I win, I will have quite a difficult time deciding which option to choose, but I will appreciate being in that difficult position. 🙂

My kids are 8, 7 and 3. We are only partial homeschoolers – my kids go to school, but since we are ex-.pats, I try to pad their education to cover things from home. This week in History really appeals to me because I already create something similar on my own, but it is a lot of prep!! Mentoring from the Classics also really appeals to me.

Hi there! My name is Elena and I homeschool two boys ages 6 and 4. I love the philosophy of TJEd because it matches our family’s philosophy on education and life at large. I would love to get more sources, support and education. I have been reading the blog regularly, really appreciate the emails and the updates and love Simple Homeschool blog. I have learned so much already. Very thankful for all the help on our path to inspired learning. I would really love to see the TJEd books available on http://www.audible.com too. Is there any chance you may make some or all your books audiobooks too?

My kids who are still homeschooling are 7 and 14, and the teenager in particular would be delighted to have This Week in History again! We had a wonderful year with it a couple of years ago when we reviewed it for the Schoolhouse Crew, but I think it would be even more beneficial to her now as she ties more things together in her learning.
