My boys are 9 and 11. We love going out with our camera and guide to identify all the animal tracks. We also love filling our bird feeders and watching for our feathered friends as they visit. We were amazed at how many have been here even during the snowfall.

We love to go sled riding if the weather is right, or going on nature walks and enjoying the more muted colors of winter.

  13. I have 10 children ages 5-18. We live on a 90 acre farm and have a fire pit close to our house and our favorite winter activity is building a big bonfire and cooking hotdogs or s’mores. We sit out all bundled up and hang hammocks and watch red- cheeked kiddos run around. Play based learning sounds wonderful for my younger children who are adopted.

Our favorite winter activity is playing in the snow but this year, with the crazy warm weather, the kids have enjoyed digging in the dirt for worms!
