Our kids are 6 and 3, and our favorite nature activity is hiking, and camping. We also love to go “collecting”, we collect acorns, pine cones, leaves, sticks and sometimes just take pictures of the beautiful things we see.
I have two boys, 11 and 7. We enjoy taking walks and collecting different items (leaves, berries, water samples from creeks, types of bark, etc.) and look at them with a magnifying glass when we get home. Sometimes, not all of the time, we draw what we saw in our nature books. I did see a neat idea: put masking tape (sticky side out) around their legs, ankles, etc..and have them take a walk through the woods and look at what they “collected” when they get home. Haven’t done that yet.
I have a 6 year old and 2 year old and We love using nature to learn! Math, crafts and science! I feel it helps my daughter learn in an environment that comes natural to kids. She’s learning her addition with acorns:)
My kids are age 10, 8, 6, 4 and 2. Our favourite nature activity is walking in the hills and woods around our house. We especially love to watch the red kites flying overhead.
11 and 13. My 11 year old loves bird studies mostly. And my 13 year old likes crafting with organic material she finds outside (e.g pine cones, stones, leaves etc)
I have a boy who loves to go looking for toads, frogs and minnow and is currently kerping a garter snake.
