Weekend giveaway: Great Homeschool Conventions (2 winners!)

//  by Jamie C. Martin

Great Homeschool Conventions
This giveaway has ended–thanks for your interest!

Welcome to this weekend’s giveaway–hosted by Great Homeschool Conventions!

Great Homeschool Conventions will hold its 2014 regional conventions in South Carolina (March), Ohio (April), and California (June). Each convention features a huge (and I mean huge!) Homeschool Curriculum exhibit hall.

This year’s featured speakers include Dr. Benjamin Carson, Heidi St. John, Dr. Thomas Woods, Dr. Kathy Koch, Gianna Jessen, Dr. Jay Wile, Cathy Duffy, Jim Weiss, Steve Demme, and many more.

When I attended and spoke at last year’s convention in Ohio, I was truly impressed with the professionalism and organization that had gone into the event. The number of sessions to choose from meant something for everyone no matter your needs.

Attendees get to choose from hundreds of encouraging, equipping, information-packed workshops…selecting those that are most applicable to YOUR homeschooling efforts. There is also an optional children’s program and a special track for teens–real faith for the real world.

You can sign up here to receive GHC’s email newsletter with updates and announcements and to be notified of early bird discounts.

My kids are 7 and 9 – both boys. I would love to attend a convention to be recharged and challenged in our homeschooling journey. I would also love to get to look at different curriculum for ideas.

My children are ages 2 and 4. I want to learn more about home schooling because I have fashioned my life in order to be there to love, nurture, and teach my kids. I’m finding now that I need a community- a tribe, if you will. I’d like to meet a tribe of parent teachers.

My daughters are 10 and 16. I’d love to be encouraged and I can always improve as a teacher! I’d take as many classes as I could 🙂

My kids are 4 and 8 years old. We just started homeschooling this year – after beginning the year in 2nd grade public school. I have finally decided to stop letting fear control me in this area and follow the calling on our lives. We also have a very bright, intense gifted child. I would love to gain insights and learn as I grow in this new, exciting journey.

My children are 9 and 11 right now. They’ll be 10 and 12 before the end of the calendar year. I went to the GHC when it was last in CA in 2012 and totally enjoyed it. I look forward to attending again in CA in 2014 because I’m getting ready to teach middle school. I’m a little anxious about that and hope that some of the speakers and workshops will encourage me and give me some great ideas to incorporate. I also look forward to the vendor hall and getting some middle school curriculum pieces.

I have 4 children. My children are 14 1/2, 4 1/2, 2 1/2 and 2 weeks. I would like to attend the Ohio convention because the last convention I attended with my husband (his 1st convention), my husband didn’t get a good sense that homeschooling was the best choice. I really need his full support on this journey.

Also, I think attending a larger and more organized homeschool convention may make a big difference in my husband’s mind.

Greenville is closest to us. My kids are 9 and 6 years old. I love HS Conferences. Every one I have ever gone to, I leave feeling filled up, confident and happy. It’s great to go and be around other like-minded people and to talk to strangers and learn from them. I think all HS moms should go to conferences to keep the momentum going to keep the faith and soldier on in their HS journey!

My children are 12, 11, and 7. We will be entering the high school years before we know it and need to figure out our plan especially with the new laws in place. Any advice and curriculum options that will work for us would be so appreciated!:)

My son is 13. I would like tto go to the convention to learn more about the curriculum options for us for next year as I am not crazy about the one we chose for this year. Also, I would like to find out more about homeschooling high school as I may be doing so with my son. He also has high functioning autism so I would like to see what tools may be available to help us. Thank you for the opportunity.

My kids are 2 1/2 and 5. I would like to take my family to the convention to meet other homeschool families and learn from their advice and experiences. I would like to attend workshops, check out the vendors and curriculum options, and pick up any ideas I can relating to homeschooling the early years. I am also very excited about the opportunity to hear Dr. Ben Carson speak 🙂
