My daughter is 2 and I love the hands on part of Oak Meadow.
My kids are 7.5, 6, and 3. I have good friends that have used this curriculum and loved it. It appeals to me because we are very flexible in our homeschooling and always looking for ways to enhance our learning.
I have a boy and girl, ages 10 and 6. What is appealing to our family about Oak Meadow is how the curriculum embraces how a child “unfolds”. Instead of having my 6 year old memorize the continents as my son did in public school, we made a map of our house, and then our neighborhood, and then our state, and finally the world. What a great way to connect a young child to the larger world she is part of!
My boys are soon to be 5 and 3. I like the self-paced aspect of the curriculum and the emphasis on the natural world.

I like the fact that the Oak Meadow curriculum supports different learning styles rather than trying to fit them in a box like some do. I like teaching them to learn rather than to regurgitate facts. I want them to discover the facts.
My daughter is turning 12 and truly coming into her independence. I like that oak meadow follows a waldorfy style but is uniquely it’s own curriculum . I have been reviewing it just this week for grade 7. It seems to give a very well laid out and structured 36 weeks which my daughter will embrace next year. I have 3 children. My oldest boy is 11, then my 8 year old girl and youngest girl who is 5. I am from Ontario Canada and have recently made the choice to end this school year and begin the new school year with homeschooling… In my experience so far with the research I have been doing on the internet, Canadian curriculum seems to b pretty limited. As far as materials and ideas that provide as much as Oak Meadow does. I want lessons that my children are going to enjoy and benefit from. I want my children to have a great homeschool experience and I feel that this product can offer me that.
I have two daughters, one is 5 the other 1 1/2. We just made the decision to homeschool and even though I am excited, I am also freaking out , a little. The description of this curriculum has all my favorite things: compassionate, child-centered, hands-on activities, projects, thoughtful reading, etc.

YAY! I have been searching the internet for months trying to find a good deal on Oak Meadow’s First or Second Grade used curriculum (can’t afford it new right now)! My children are 9 and 7. We love Oak Meadow! The nature based curriculum is wonderful. My children love the stories and activities! Very gentle approach to learning that inspires them in all areas of learning.
I am NOT a math person! Neither is my daughter. We’ve been using the 7th grade OM math book this year, and to our delight, we both get it!! This is the first time in my life that math makes sense. I am grateful to have found OM and to have a sane, peaceful math experience. My intent is to win this package, and continue our success next year and beyond, with the support of OM materials.

Oak Meadow curriculum offers me security following the standards for short-term return to public school as well as an online high school for long term continued homeschooling. This allows me the confidence to homeschool while addressing my fears-what if we need to return to public school?-what if I feel I am unable to provide an adequate homeschool environment in the high school years? They follow standards and offer amazing high school courses!
We love oak meadow! We don’t follow it strictly bit mix it up with some other things to suit my son’s and daughter’s unique and fluctuating learning styles. It provides an excellent starting point for us and inspires lots of trips, time outside and visits to the library.

I checked their sample on website and I like their “free style within structure learning environment” concept. At this young age, most of the places forget that the best way for them to learn still learning through playing. So far, I am happy about what I read. Thanks for this great giveaway.

My oldest is 7 and starting seventh grade. I like the way that a lot of their curriculum ideas involve stories / games in order to keep the non traditional learner engaged.

My kids are 10, 8, 7, 5, 3, 1, and another on the way. I had never heard of Oak Meadow until this post and spent the morning perusing the site. This is amazing curriculum! I love that it is all inclusive while at the same time being flexible. Most all inclusive curricula tend to have specific guidelines that give little to no flexibility to students or parents. With a family our size, we learned to be flexible a long time ago. This looks thorough and complete, yet gentle, loving, and (dare I say it again) flexible. Perfect for a large homeschooling family!! My little ones are 2 and 6 months. I have had my eye on the Oak Meadow curriculum for some time. I love the idea of creating a rhythm for the day, something I have been struggling with. My husband’s side of the family is prone to ADD/ADHD, and I feel that by offering the kind of “schedule” that expands and contracts, my children will be able to focus more easily. And, being an introverted mama, it would let me find some breathing room, too! Thank you for the opportunity!

Our 7 year old used to attend a Waldorf school when we lived in Philadelphia. We liked this approach so much and now that we have moved to a rural area where there is no Waldorf school we have become Waldorf homeschoolers. We are a part of a Waldorf homeschool co-op and find that oak meadow is a perfect balance for our homeschooling style as well as the learning style of our son. I used the curriculum for 1st grade and found it was easy to plan for each week and loved how the curriculum fits into our overall lifestyle.
My children are 9, 7, and twin 11 month olds. This appeals to me because I prefer a natural way of learning. I pulled the children out of traditional school when it became insane with security and testing. When I was young, I forgot everything I learned immediately after a test, so it is useless to teach to a test.

We have 8 year old triplets… I love the fact that this curriculum can he adjusted to the child’s interests, learning styles etc… because though my 3 are the same age they couldn’t be more different in their interests, pace, and learning style… Having one curriculum that embraced that and worked for everyone would be awesome!! I have a three year old son, and I have longingly looked at the Oak Meadow curriculum many times in anticipation of Kindergarten. I love the focus on the whole child.
I’ve been eyeing oak meadow for a couple years now. My oldest will be kinder aged next year so I am strongly considering buying this curriculum. We already practice Waldorf but w flexibility – lots of daily and weekly rhythm, storytelling, hands on activities, outdoor time, no tv or screen time, simplicity living. That said, I sometimes feel that I’m running out of steam when it comes to creating new hands on learning and I would also love feeling like I’m part of a community of people learning together. Homeschoolers all need support and I have a feeling oak meadow would be just the type we need. Thanks so much for this opportunity!!

My kids are 10 and 7. We have a move coming up this summer, and homeschooling is now on the table. I’ve read about Oak Meadow, and it seems like a great way to start a homeschooling journey.
My boys are 3 and 6 months. We registered for preschool, but I don’t think he’s going to go 😉 I like the idea of this sort of curriculum because it would provide a guide, but allow us to enjoy the many benefits of homeschooling.

My 5 year old (in K) does really well with art and literature based learning. For me, I like having some curriculum, but one with flexibility – so this looks like it could be an ideal fit.

I love the multi subject approach! Building multiple connections with each lesson is key to retention & aids in cause & effect reasoning. My kids are 5, 3, & 1.

My daughter is 6 & 1/2 and my son is 1 & 1/2. I would LOVE to transition to this curriculum. I love the more relaxed, natural approach to learning but, I have been having a hard time getting myself there. Sadly, I started our first year of homeschooling with a more rigorous, academic focused approach and while, academically my daughter has thrived…her spirit…her love for learning is not what it was before we started. I have been trying to look into the CM approach but, putting it all together seems an overwhelming task. I like how Oak Meadow seems to lay it all out for you. While looking at samples, this quote really stood out to me “Parents who are eager for their children to display their mental talents should remember that a child is more than just an intellect. A brilliant intellect is useless without a focused will, and is even limited without a loving heart.” Oh wow, was that ever like a slap in the face…in a good way. I think this curriculum is exactly what we need. But, we can’t afford it right now since I have already purchased other things. So winning this would be a huge blessing.

My kids are 13, 12, & 9. The hands on, artsy, nature feel to this curriculum is very appealing to me. My daughter who is 12 is a very visual learner. I have tried to come up with hands on projects for her as we read aloud. She made a comic strip during Swiss family Robinson, mini planes and ships as we read about the Bismarck, and sculpted a clay doll as we read about Hittie. I would love to see what this curriculum could add to what we already have started. Thanks!

We are blessed with a 7 year old boy, who is completely in love with all creatures living in water – be it ocean, tide pool or simple muddy patch. Our 4 year old princess graces our home with her insatiable need to create art in her magical world. My son is almost 3. This was the first I had heard of Oak Meadow and like the “free style within structure learning environment” concept the follow.

We have 2 children, the oldest will be 9 at the end of June, the youngest will be 2 on June 1. We also are expecting baby #3 earlier than expected. He will arrive sometime in August. We just pulled our oldest out of school and have been “winging it” for the past few months. He was in Special Education and they were killing his desire to learn and refusing to allow him to move on to more challenging tasks. He is more of a hands-on learning but does need structure and routine. After reviewing the website and sample curriculum, Oak Meadow appears to fill this need for him. Plus, it teaches cursive – something the public schools here do not teach anymore but I want my children to know.
My kids are 6 and 9 and I’ve been dying to try Oak Meadow! I love the fact that it is a sweet and lovely curriculum that allows you to go at your own pace.
I have three little boys who are 4 yrs old, 2 yrs old, and 2 months old. What appeals to me most about Oak Meadow is that it is so integrated. Involving lots of arts/creative time, but also the core curriculum base all included and wrapped up together.

We are currently homeschooling a 4th grader. We started homeschooling this last year with Connections Academy, but we haven’t been happy with the Common Core push that is rampant within that system. We’ve been looking to school with other curriculum, and Oak Meadow is at the top of our list. It appeals to us through it’s child centered learning approach, without letting the basics of reading, writing, and math slip through the cracks. Thank you for the opportunity! I have a 7 year old son and a 3 year old daughter. I just started homeschooling a few months ago due to some concerns my son had in public school. I already have several different curriculum options, but have yet to find the right combination of work. I’m using 3 different publisher’s workbook/texts, videos, the Bible, and hands on projects, but haven’t found the correct approach, one that is enjoyable for him. I think this curriculum could supplement and/or be used in place of what I am currently using.

My children are 4.5 years old and almost 3. We’ll be adding a gentle pre-K rhythm into our days this fall, but I’ve had my eye on Oak Meadow for a few years now! (I’m one of those moms who starts looking at curriculum before her kids are born, haha.) I love the fact that Oak Meadow takes a hands-on approach and allows children some elbow room when it comes to pace and interests. My children are ages 7, 5, and 3. We are homeschooling overseas. This Oak Meadow curriculum excites me as I have been looking for something more challenging and hands-on for my children than the traditional approach or drill and worksheets.
Our boys are 8.5, 6.5, 3.5 yrs. This curriculum interests me because of the critical thinking component and because it includes hands-on activities which my boys love.

My daughter is almost 4 years old. She loves learning and we have been searching for a kindergarten curriculum that works well with our schedule. She loves a hands on approach and after researching them I feel it would be a wonderful fit. Oak Meadow was recommended by a friend who is currently doing 3rd grade with her daughter. My children area 13, 11, 8 and 5. This is the first I’m hearing about Oak Meadow, but what really appeals to me is that is goes at the pace of the child and allows them to learn through exploration while challenging them to try new things. In our house, family is first and we refuse to allow school work rob us of peace and unity, it seems Oak Meadow understands that concept.
have a 9 and 6 year old….and a 20 and 22 year olds (in college), yes, big gap.
we didnt homeschool first two, wish we had. we love the flexablity and love to teach all forms of the arts.

How exciting and timely! I was JUST reviewing Oak Meadow’s kindergarten curriculum for my six year old son. He will be going into his second year of kindy at home this fall. I made our own curriculum for the first year of kindy, following Donna Simmons’ guidelines. My son lost his first tooth last week, can finger knit, and fits many of the requirements for Waldorf first grade readiness, but he won’t be seven until March 2015, and I really want to honor his wonder child by not prematurely introducing formal academics. I’ve been seeking a premade curriculum for next school year that is a bit more challenging but still gentle, and I feel that Oak Meadow fits this wonderfully. Each transition through their grades has a beautiful flow. I also have a six month old daughter and was recently diagnosed with my second autoimmune disease (Celiac’s & Hashimoto’s). Having a plan for the year that is already so lovingly worked out for our family (and winning one, to boot! Phew medical expenses!) would be a true blessing. Thank you for this awesome opportunity!!!

I have a 4 and a half year old and am leaning toward homeschooling. The K curriculum would be good way to get us started next year.
I have an eight year old boy going into 4th grade this fall. I love that Oakleaf is flexible and self-paced. I think that would work great for us.
My daughter is just finishing up her second year of Oak Meadow kindergarten, we really loved it! I plan on keeping with Oak Meadow because they have a great education philosophy and our school days flow wonderfully following the suggestions. My twin boys will be 4 this summer, but they already love doing a lot of the movement, singing and painting activities with us making it great for our whole family!
I love the idea of curriculum being Indiviualized. I have 4 children. All different ages and it’s something I’ve really been looking for in a curriculum. We are starting homeschool next year. I am so anxious to get started. I would love to win!!

My kids are 8 and 12. We have been using Oak Meadow in and off through our homeschooling journey. Just this year we returned to it, and loved it. History was approached from a personal connection with great people, rather than a collection of dates and facts. I love that! This may be the one that takes us through high school.

Oak Meadow appeals to me because it provides a way of knowing and learning that is grounded in the precious things about life…..nature, folktales, arts & crafts…….Oak Meadow considers the WHOLE child and their development. For us, genealogy is important – and Oak Meadow seems to allow for the flexibility of us incorporating our family values into the curriculum.
I love Oak Meadow! I love how nature-based it is. Just seems to reinforce the values I want my kids (ages 1 1/2, 3 1/2 and 6 1/2) to grow up with.
I have 3 kids, ages 12 and 8 yr old twins. I would love for my boys to use this curriculum! They are active boys, and quite creative and I think Oak Meadow would fit them perfectly! I love the fact it encourages critical thinking, and creativeness.

I really like how Oakmeadow is structured, but flexible. Meaning they provide you with everything you need to teach, but leave it open so you can add your own stuff.
My son will be seven in June. We “did” First Grade this year. He’s not reading yet and we have struggled with “Getting out of the workbooks”. I’m really looking for something for second grade that he will enjoy and excel.
I have 2 boys ages 7 and 5. My oldest is currently using Oak Meadows first grade curriculum and my 5 year old is doing their preschool curriculum. We love Oak Meadow because they are all about at and stories and letting your child grow at their own pace. I also love that I feel supported when I have questions or get that nagging keeping up with the jones’ feeling. They really are very supportive and nurturing not just for my children but for me also, and I love that!

My son is eight and a half. We’ve homeschooled first and second grade with Oak Meadow. I have an art ed k-12 certification, but I loved Steiner’s education philosophy from the start. The curriculum gives me piece of mind that I am covering the material he will need to know for testing next year while allowing for the slow unfurling of the intellect. It gives him the flexibility to follow his heart and plenty of free time for fresh air and exploration. He is reading and he loves it, so rewarding! Loving our time in the Meadow.

I homeschooled my three children from kindergarten through twelveth grade. They are now ages 31, 29, and 27. My oldest wants me to help her homeschool my 5 year old granddaughter this fall. therefore, I would gladly use the Oak Meadow Kindergarten curriculum. Probably, the most appealing part of the curriculum is that it is self-paced, flexible, and affordable. Having taught my own children for 16+ years, I learned through trial and error, the value of flexibility because no child learns the same way, no child learns at the same pace, and given the current economy affordability is paramount.
I am new to homeschooling, so I don’t know a lot about Oak Meadow, but would love to check it out!

I’ve always admired Oak Meadow’s nature-based approach to home school. Our four kids (ages 11, 8, 5, and 7-months) enjoy life and learning on 33 acres with an ever-increasing flock of sheep, a handful of free-range chickens, and an evolving garden space. Oak Meadow seems a perfect fit to incorporate a natural rhythm to our homeschool days.

My oldest is five – she will be six in November – and I am, right now, beginning to plan her Kindergarten year using Oak Meadow’s Kindergarten curriculum. Love it! I love that it is gentle, and it appeals to the part of me that is drawn to Waldorf education, but it feels balanced, somehow, in a perfect spot between Waldorf and more traditional schooling. Oh, and I forgot: My very favorite thing about it is that there is plenty of room for me to pull in other resources and move things around (I’m in the process of making it fit our year-round homeschool with some outside resources for the summer months) – BUT when we’re having one of those weeks where life is caving in on me, I can just pull out the syllabus, open to that week, and say “Okay, this is what we’re doing this week” and it’s all laid out for me. 🙂

Wow Oak Meadow looks lovely! My kids are 6 and 3. I just finished perusing some of the samples for the different grades and I am impressed. I love the self paced aspect, and that it is child-centered. Also, a curriculum that champions the reading of fairy tales gets an A+ in my book!

My children are 4 and 2. My daughter will be starting kindergarten in the fall. Oak Meadow appeals to me because of the hands on approach and focus on creativity and liturature.

I liked Oak Meadow and I’m already a fan of Simple Homeschool! I have a four-year-old daughter and a 14-month-old son, so we are new to the homeschooling journey. A relaxed, open ended approach to learning appeals to me because it will allow my kids to learn at their pace and follow their interests. I had pretty much decided to do a diy approach with curriculum, using internet, library and experiences in place of a prepackaged curriculum, but Oak Meadow sounds like it has a lot of room for freedom and exploration so I’d like to see if my daughter likes it when we “begin” homeschooling. I have had my eye on OM for a LONG time, and I’m so excited to say: NOW WE’RE READY! 🙂 My oldest will be ready for kindergarten this year. It’s language-based, it’s story-based, and it comes with tons of support (GREAT for this first-time homeschooling mama).

I went to public school as a kid and feel like I still have trouble in new situations without a “teacher” there to show me an example! My son is four, and he is very busy–so I need something that is hands-on. But he also loves listening to books, so I want something that incorporates lots of reading!
My kids are 8,5, and 1&1/2. I love the idea of hands on nature learning!
My oldest daughter is almost 5 & my youngest is 6 months. I’m a huge fan of simple homeschool & I’ve used the preschool oak meadow to help set a rhythm in our home for our daughter & would love to continue with the kindegarten curriculum. I like the gentle approach to learning, the connection to nature and the choice to homeschool or use the online school.
I like the idea of flexibility and adaptability for learning style and interests. My youngest is in 8th grade next year and she has done nothing like any of her older siblings, especially her 10th grade sister. We have had to figure out everything anew for her.

I am homeschooling my 10, 8, and 7 year olds and have a 3 and 2 year old coming up quick! I have struggled with what curriculum to use because everything feels too confining to me. However, when I try to plan/gather resources/etc. all on my own I can’t seem to keep up! Oak Meadow seems like it would fit right into my need for open-ended and creative, yet also academically intentional. Thanks for introducing me to them!

My kids are 11, 7, 5 yr olds. I like the idea of using the simple, hands on approach and and that the curriculum is Waldorf inspired.
I began looking into homeschooling a few months ago, and have felt very overwhelmed with the amount of information and resources there are! This approach to learning feels like it would be a good fit for us, and I’d love a chance to win it and use it when we begin homeschooling this next school year (though I plan on dabbling throughout summer, as well)!
My children are 4,9, and 11. We are a homeschooling military family that loves to learn. I love the structure of this curriculum. As a military family we tend to move quite often so a structured curriculum is what we prefer. Thank you for such a wonderful blog!

I have 6 children but Oak Meadow is for my nearly 9 year old who is sometimes 2 and sometimes 14. He is American born and English raised, we live in the country in old England but visit the modern world when we can. Our farm is 500 years old and nature is as real for us as the fingers in our hands. Our curriculum needs to build bridges, span continents and speak to all the ages of our child.
My son is 8 years old, and is already a critical thinker. I really appreciate the hands on learning approach as I believe he is kinesthetic and would leap forward if he had this option.

My kids are 11, 9, 7, 5, and 7 months. I think Oak Meadow would be fabulous for all of my kids, but especially appeals to me for my 5-year old son, who can’t spend enough time outdoors, or for my 9 year old daughter, who loves to do things at her own pace, thank you! Both are most receptive with hands-on activities, so always looking for ways to help them make discoveries on their own terms, and in ways that appeal to them.

My kids are 4 and 6 and we’ve been homeschooling for two years with no set curriculum. I have a friend who’s planning to use Oak Meadow for the first time this year and it’s the first curriculum I’ve ever looked at that I’d actually considering buying. It looks very parent and kid-friendly and I like that it incorporates literature, art, music and nature study.
My children are 5,3 and 7. The real life, rich literature and nature studies from Oak Meadow are what I want to be teaching my children. I love the kindergarten curriculum.

My son is PreK (4 years old in a few months), but is an early reader with a voracious appetite for books. Oak Meadow appeals to me because it incorporates his love of books with hands on projects that encourage him to apply what he’s reading. Seeing him engrossed in his “experiments” is exciting to watch, and I’d like to continue to foster that curiosity.

I have been researching curriculums for a few months now that will allow me to integrate a more “Waldorf-inspired” approach to homeschool. Yet, after eight years of homeschooling, I have certain teaching methods and “pet” books and resources that certainly still appeal to me. I have worked hard for years at assembling a quality “toolbox” for my kiddos’ home education, but I have found that the longer we homeschool, the more we all (as a family) benefit from child-specific, hands-on projects that really highlight their personal learning styles. Most of the time, my busy-body boys just want to get their hands dirty and talk about what they are doing! What I really like about Oak Meadow is that it really seems to incorporate the core ideals and child-centered approach that really lets my children blossom, yet it honors the presentation of educational material in an organized, beautiful, flexible medium. It appeals to my busy body boys and my “super-planner” personality. I am so excited to find out more and hopefully incorporate these resources into our homeschool curriculum.

I have heard amazing things about them, and my favorite thing was honestly when I clicked to read their curriculum descriptions, this was the first sentence “Because younger children learn primarily through imitation and doing, our kindergarten through fourth grade curriculum features a great deal of healthy activity and movement.” How important is that!

This is my second year of homeschooling. My middle school son enjoyed the Biology curriculum through Oak Meadow. He hopes to go to college one day and Oak Meadow truly preps its students. I have 11 year old identical twin girls who have just finished 6th grade.
I have been using Oak Meadow for the past 5 plus years and love how it is laid out with 36 lessons.
My oldest is 5 and half and this would be awesome for us to get started homeschooling! I really have no clue where to start. I like Oak Meadow because it is self-paced and flexible!

My kids are soon-to-be 5 in July, just turned 2 years old, and 7 months old. I haven’t used Oak Meadow, but from what I’ve researched and got from friends, I love that it’s child centered. You’re right; kids are not “vessels” to be filled. They deserve to learn at their own pace, and in a way that interests them.

I’m new to homeschooling and have been gathering information and researching curriculum to begin teaching my children this upcoming school year. From what I have been reading about Oak Meadow curriculum, it seems that it allows for flexibility and that the studies are varied and hands on. My son is 12 years old. I have been looking at different curricula. Oak Meadow looks like it would be a good fit. As well as the material covered I like that it can be sent through email and is easily printed. I do not want my son in front of the computer the entire time he does school work.

Hi! My kids are ages 8,7,4 and one on the way!! My curriosity was really peaked about this curriculum when you mentioned the hands-on activities for developement as well as the flexibility. My family has been going through a lot of changes this year and our homeschool studies have been affected. After homeschooling through a charter the past few years, I feel like it’s time to go on our own path. I have twin 12 year old daughters. Oak Meadow’s offerings are wholesome, nurturing, and beautifully presented. We used their programs when the girls were younger, and are considering them again as we approach upper middle and high school. I love that the program remains wholesome at it’s core while also becoming increasingly rigorous in the upper grades. It’s accredited distance learning option is certainly appealing, and we would love the chance through this lovely giveaway to give the 7th grade package a try as we consider options for the next few years!

Hi. I have a 3 and 6 year old. My oldest is just finishing Kindergarten. Starting the new school year, I would like to try a more organized curriculum that is laid out for us and Oak Meadows sounds like a great fit for our family! I just checked out the Oak Meadow curriculum…It looks just like what we are looking for. Our 5 boys (aged 9, 8, 5, 3, and 1) are so hands-on and excited to learn, I think this type of experiential learning would be right down our alley. Thank you so much for all the resources you provide!

My children are 2, 6 and 9. A friend of mine showed me some of the curriculum materials she ordered thru Oak Meadow. All high quality stuff. My children attend a Waldorf school, but I struggle with being able to help with some of the school work that is either done a different way than I learned (or is something I didn’t even learn!!). My oldest craves homework, so I would love to have some of the curriculum materials to use at home. We also don’t know if we’ll be able to afford sending #3 there, so would love a set of materials for that purpose.

I have 4 children: 13 year old, 10 year old, 8 year old, and a 6 year old. One reason why I would like to try Oak Meadows is that it would be more organized and less stress for our family. Sounds like it would definitely help with no busy work (as in the public school) and learning and loving it!

My children are 16, 9, & 7. We’ve been using OM and my kids love it. Very relaxed and fun.
We have a 12 year old girl. 9 yr old boy. 3 year old girl. And 2 year old boy. We are military and live overseas. We started homeschooling two years ago. And Robinson Method appealed to me but we are looking for something a little different. This seemed to be more our style.
I have a 5 and 3 year old. I like the emphasis on nature, rythyms of the seasons, and the the heart of the child, not just the academic brain.

My children are 14,12,9,7,4 and 5 months! I like Oak Meadow because it allows small children to be young. It doesn’t seem to rush them at all!!
I have two 12 year old sons and an 11 year old daughter. I appreciate the open endedness of the Oak Meadow curriculum and the hands on approach to learning. With three different learning styles, the ability to find an investigational “in” is critical to engaging my busy students. Books and worksheets are anathema and the freedom to explore is a foundation of our homeschool and the Oak Meadow curriculum. I think it would be a perfect fit for my independent students.
My children are 7, 3 and 6 months. I like the idea of having a hand on, nature inspired curriculum for my 7 year old. He is such an outdoorsy kid and the last few yeas of too much book- work have been torture on us all. I would love to have something to help him unlock his creativity and expand his love of nature.

I have researched a lot of curriculum choices and Oak Meadow’s approach seemed to speak to all the reasons I want to homeschool. I love the creative aspect and the way both of my children can share in the projects for both grades. I have been using oak meadow for a year now. We absolutely love it! We wanted something nature and art based. I have referee other homeschoolers to the heart of learning book that comes with the curriculum. I think even if you don’t use oak meadow this is a great book just to understand how kids learn and the “why” behind oak meadows style of learning. Also it gives great insight to how kids hearts and minds work and helps u guide them info a joy of learning in everyday life. I will keep it as a resource and refer back to it every year no matter what curriculum we use. My kids are 9,6,4, and 1 year.

My son is 4, so he won’t be able to start public school here for another year. However, I think the approach that Oak Meadow takes is one that is so adaptable to his learning style, and he would really benefit from working through their curriculum this next year. Looks so awesome!
My children are 6 and 3.5. OM was the 3rd curriculum we tried this past semester and it was certainly a keeper! I have fun teaching and my children have fun learning. We are organic farmers and we are very in touch with nature. It nurtures our lifestyle and creates a beautiful rhythm for our home! It is very hard to find balance when you run a farm, small business, and homeschool, but OM makes atleast the homeschool part easy!

What we really like about Oak Meadow’s approach is that it can help us in experiencing all aspects of the awesomeness of her life here on planet earth; her learning, her exploring, and her overall mental and physical growth and well being. I love Oak Meadow because it is so flexible. My 9 and almost 5 year old can work together on so many subjects.
We love the nature based learning that Oak Meadow provides. It’s also a great cirriculum to expand on subjects with. I love the flexibility of the cirriculum and so do my 8,7 and 5 year old kids. I already like both pages on Facebook.
My girls are 9 and 5 and I love the gentle approach to the early grades. We used OM for the first time this year and its the first year with out daily meltdowns and severe stress. My kids LOVE school now. Its exciting and I can determine when they need a challenge or when they need extra time for a topic, etc.

We are a cute little Australian family and we’re new to homeschool ! This is our first year , and we’re still feeling our way !! I have five children ages 16, 14,11,9 and 5 . Today i purchased Oak Meadow Kindy cirriculum and History and English . We where after a wholistic curriculum that nurtured the kids creativity , we love nature , gardening, music , reading , literarure , craft , art and watching our kids enjoy life …. tick tick tick tick , Oak Meadow ticks all our boxes its a perfect fit for us 🙂 we are now patiently waiting for our parcel to arrive !! I have a 13y/o daughter and 6y/o son. I’ve wanted to use OM for a few years, but have never been able to afford it. I love their Waldorf-inspired approach and know it would be good for me to have a “backbone” to work with.

My son will be seven this year… This Fall will be our second year homeschooling! We love Oak Meadow, because it allows us to peacefully blend learning with living. Instead of feeling “tied to our books”, our school day is filled with stories, drawings, time in nature, road trips, and bonding together as a family. I feel incredibly lucky, as first time homeschoolers, to have stumbled across this curriculum. I can’t imagine using anything else!

I have a 6 year old son who will be in 1st grade this year. We love everything about homeschooling- example: we spent 5 1/2 hrs at the park two days ago; brought a picnic, did school, and played with random children for HOURS! Beat that conventionally schooled kiddos! I love the natural environment learning that OM seems to promote, I think that is the best and happiest way to learn for everyone =)

My kids are 9, 6, and, 3. I love how OM allows my kiddos to be creative while learning, this makes school so much fun. I also love the pace and flow of the curriculum. This allows for better natural learning. I hope I win!

I love the freedom to adapt the curriculum to what suits my son better. I have changed the books he reads to fit with his history lesson. We have switched up the order of the lessons too, to fit our schedule. It is current, it is more in depth compared to what his peers in ps are doing and it provides him with choices. For me it is everything homeschooling should be ….guidance, help, but not rote and demanding of a schedule or order.

My son is 9 and this fall will be our first year to homeschool. I knew right away after looking at your website that OakMeadow was for our family. I love how it brings nature into learning and teaches the whole child. I liked the OakMeadow Facebook page as soon as I found it but now have also liked Simple Homeschool.

My favorite is The Heart of Learning. Definitely reminds me to stay present and why I am doing this all in the first place (for the kids!)

My granddaughter is 6 and will be 1st grade… this past yr we have been creating our own path of study, learning how to learn and enjoying it for the most part.
From what I have seen and read of the Oak Meadows it has nurturing “being a child” feel to it’s approach.
Life has become so fast paced that anything that brings back the importance of character over the rushed competitiveness of being “better than, this one or that” I am all in favor of it!

My oldest turns 6 on the 19th of this month, my oldest boy just turned 4 and my youngest (at the moment) just turned 1 last week. I really love the concepts of this curriculum and think it would be perfect for our daughter. She’s very out going and way ahead of her “age group” in a lot of ways, she also loves the out doors and this would give us all a great distraction from their daddy being deployed. Really hoping we can get started on this curriculum asap, even if we don’t win this 🙂

My oldest is six and has sensibilities that would really jibe with Oak Meadow (I’d be overjoyed at being able to get him into a Waldorf school at some stage). My five-year-old would also greatly benefit from incorporating Waldorf-based methods into his homeschooling. I’d really enjoy facilitating it, given my language and literature background in both English and German, and I’d love the guidance the curriculum would provide with eurythmy, art, crafts, music and methodology. How old are your children and what appeals to you about the Oak Meadow approach to learning? My children are 9, 11, 13 and 18. My 9,11 and 13 yr old are using Oak Meadow 18 yr old just finished with school. I love that oak meadow is written to the child in the later grades, that I can buy a kit with just about all the supplies I will need for a year or not, and still not need to buy that much to do the work. I love that it’s secular and waldorf styled.

I have a 12 and 14 yr old. Have not used Oak Meadow yet but have heard terrific things about it. So many programs stop during middle school. I like that Oak Meadow has a comprehensive high school program. I’m trying to decide whether to put my son in public school for 9th grade or give Oak Meadow a try. He needs more writing practice, and I’d be thrilled to work with a program that has everything set up for a fun and straightforward learning experience.

My children are 8 (son), 4 (son) and 2 (daughter). What I like best about the Oak Meadow curriculum is that is appeals to the whole child. By being a “living education” is takes away the divide of home and school.

My son is 3 and my daughter is 17. Having one child moving on to a very independent style of learning in college, I have realized many things about the traditional educational system and would like to do things differently for my son. I would have loved to have a curriculum like this when she was little and I think my son would thrive with such sense, nature and play-based rhythms.
I am homeschooling 6 of our 9 kids. I really like the hands on, and yet gentle approach that I see in the younger years. I am so not the crafty type, and I really want to be able to offer that to the kids, more than simply coloring in a coloring book.

This is my first year homeschooling and after all of my research, there are three reasons I chose Oak Meadow for my son. First, they encourage the parent through their Teacher Manual Set. As a new homeschool parent, I don’t feel alone and know I have the tools to help me with this journey. Second, they encourage the child to love learning through creativity and stay true to their base (their statement about the CCS proves they are listening to parents). Third, the Oak Meadow customer service staff is outstanding! They will answer your questions and encourage you to “call back again” if you have more questions. I love Oak Meadow!

My daughter is 11, and doing beautifully in her public school. My son is 7 and just finishing up first grade. School has been struggle for him — he’s got ADHD and Asperger’s. I like Oak Meadow because it’s comprehensive, first of all, which makes it easier for me to wrap my head around making such a big change in our family. It’s also beautifully written and has a strong base in earth sciences. I like that it combines art and music — those are things I would find challenging as my son’s teacher.

my girls are 7 and 9years old. We were lucky enough to try OM from Kindergarten to Grade 3 due to the generousity of a friend who was finished with her books. But now we are hooked. Most favourite parts of OM? : the language arts and math approaches, the stories, the rhythm that Oak MEadow has helped us find for our family. It would be great to continue with it!

The children who would be schooling are almost-5 and 7, and they will both be at the second grade level this fall. I like the laid-back/no-pressure approach that Oak Meadow takes while still providing a thorough education.
Our children are 11, 10, and 4.5. I’m especially interested in Oak Meadow for my 10 year old daughter and probably my son when he’s 5. I find that they do best in a play and creative setting… learning something as the result of play and fun activities rather than a forced event. My daughter did grade 3 of Oak Meadow, she says she loves how it makes you aware of nature and reminds her of the connection she has to the world around her. Its a conscious curriculum. We’ve been yet to afford the curriculum for another year, and I’m hoping to offer it to her sometime. Therefore, I keep entering give aways!

I have a 13 year old Daughter and a 5 year old son. I would be looking at this for my son as he has need of something with a more creative base. Next year my kids are entering 7th grade. I’ve tried other curriculums, but always come back to Oak Meadow because I love that it nurtures their whole person. It’s not just academics, but kindness and social awareness as well!

Our children are 18, 8, and 4. Our oldest finished homeschool last year. She used a very structured and rigorous boxed curriculum. I have been looking into Oak Meadow for the way it encompasses the ability to inspire creativity within the child and pushes to connect with their natural environment. I truly believe my Pre-K and 3rd grader both would thoroughly enjoy this approach just as much as I would.

My son is 9 and was just diagnosed with ADD. His twin sister is in the process of also being diagnosed with dyslexia. The Oak Meadow curriculum is right on track with how they need to be taught. I researched for months and months for something that woukd work and I finally found it!!

Our boys are 5.5 and 2. I have loved Oak Meadow from the first time I looked them up. Their customer support is fantastic as well. I feel it would be a great fit for our boys.
My children are 16, 12, 10, and 8. I have 2 boys that are high energy and do well with hands on interactive learning, and both love nature. This sounds like it maybe the perfect curriculum for my boys.
My children and 7 and 13. I love the Oak Meadow curriculum because it is child centric and developmentally appropriate in all areas. It gives my children the desire to continue learning even after the lessons are over!

I have girls who are 12 and 9 and a 2yr. old little boy. It appeals to me because I can tailor it to work for the different ages of my kiddos.
I have three boys, 12, 10 and 3 years old. I love that Oak Meadow seems to promote independent learning, and I really like the attention it pays to the child’s own, genuine interests.
My children are 12,3 and 1. I have been looking at this but was unsure of putting out the money to try it. It has great reviews and I love the philosophy of it and most importantly that my daughter would be able to work at her own pace. She is so smart and bored in public school. We are looking to start homeschool for next year and the preschool for my son too

I have a 5 and an 8 year old. This is our first year homeschooling, and we are excited to hear about options for curriculum. We struggled with costs and with some of the choices we made so far. I am interested in learning about this curriculum and what it could do for our family.
I am homeschooling my six-yeae-old daughter who is in the beginning stages of bone marrow failure. Oak Meadow is is flexible and encourages individuality – which is perfect for my child because she is also on the autism spectrum! Having a special needs child is challenging enough, but to add a serious illness in the mix, it only makes sense to homeschool. Oak Meadow can help our family get through our next academic year with ease!

I’m using the preschool curriculum with our 3 1/2 year old… love it. She will be going to a private preschool in the fall but I will continue using this curriculum in addition. I’m still deciding whether we will do traditional schooling or homeschooling further down the road but either way I will continue to implement Oak Meadow as we go. Our son is six weeks old and I plan on using Oak Meadow with him as well when the time comes. Oak Meadow can be worked into the everyday schedule whether homeschooling or not!

My youngest is kindergarten age. What I love is that based upon Waldorf education and how it emphasizes a child’s creative capacities. I also like the flexibility of the curriculum. Flexibility and homeschooling go hand in hand.

I have done a lot of research on homeschooling and I love the curriculum for oak meadow it is the closest to how I prep my kids for school. My oldest is stuck in school due to a high conflict custody issue but I want to supplement her education and home school my youngest two this would be a great introduction to that and give them the head start they need.

My twin boys, Ezekiel and Ephraim will be 5 this August. They are the most amazing little learners I know. They enjoy a hands on approach to learning and they never want to stop. I’ve been looking into Oak Meadow for quite some time for their Kindergarten curriculum and it’s so far the best I can find. The cost is reasonable and the structure seems to fit their needs and my wants for them. They are curious little boys that love art, music, reading and science. This giveaway would be extremely beneficial to our family. Our money is tight and it would be a relief to know we’d have some help with the curriculum we want for our boys to grow and learn through creativity and love.

My children are 9, 7, 5, 3 and 1. I really like that Oak Meadow is naturally laid back and full of artistic exploration to help nurture the kids creative side. That’s one area I would like help with. I have mostly just focused on the basic subjects so far using an online curriculum. I sent into Oak Meadow earlier this year for information so I am really interested. I would really love to get my kids off the computer.

Oh my. This is the first time I’ve seen this but I’m already in love. I love the gentle style and artwork, the old fashioned feel, the poems. My daughter is 5 and I’ll be looking into it!
Oh and I have a 3yo and 2mo. I am a second generation homeschooler.
Our children that are being homeschooled will be 11 (6th), 9 (3rd), and 17 (11th) this next school year (We have 5 others that are now out of school). We are in need of something that will keep our soon to be 6th grader’s attention but not overwehelming. She is an extremely outdoor child and has adhd/asd. I looked at an Oak Meadows book at the thrift store and the ease of that book really appealed to me.

Hi! Our kids our 8 and 6 and we enjoy Oak Meadow’s natural and rhythmic approach to learning, working with the strengths of the child without the stress of an imposing test-focused environment. We like that our kids learn from their environment and integrate that learning into their functioning in the world.
My son is 8. We loved all the samples we went through, would like to use the full curricullum, it’s beautifully organized and my kid is attracted to the books:)

Both are precious, and often to hurried in mainstream culture, and I love that Oak Meadow understands this and embraces a slow, steady, all-in-good-time education model. It’s beautiful!

My daughter is 11 (almost 12) and I have LOVED OakMeadow’s broad overview of each ancient civilization. It gives us all the fundamentals and it’s up to my daughter to decide which parts want to make her dig a little deeper. She’s becoming an independent thinker, learning to love the process of learning, she’s engaged, enthusiastic and I am confident she will come away with a very firm grounding in ancient world history.

My girls are 20 months and 5 years old. Oak Meadow’s approach with hands on, artistic, gentle approach to teaching is refreshing in this world of strict and rigid pace that completely discounts the way children naturally learn.
I have 5.5 year old twins and 3 year old twins. I would love to homeschool the bigs next year, and the adaptability of this curriculum is very appealing. Would love to win!
I’m schooling a 9th grader, 3rd grader and PreK, with a toddler at home. What I really think it interesting about Oak Meadow is artistic and natural approach to teaching. The flexibility and adaptability to different children’s learning levels. This would be a huge blessing to our family! And I’ve already liked both pages!! 😀
My children are ages 6(7 on the 25th), 5, and twin 2 year olds. I love the hands on activities of Oak Meadow. I feel like my kids get so excited with hands on projects and experiments. Would love to try Oak Meadow for homeschooling!!
My children are 7, 6, 4 and newborn. I love the Oak Meadow approach to letting the child discover their path. I always encourage my children to choose their interests to foster their imagination and excitement in learning. With the newborn it has gotten more difficult for me to research and locate and piece together curriculum for each of them. Oak Meadow would be a total blessing for our family for next school year both financially and to keep them on the best path of education following our families homeschool requirements.

Four girls ages 10, 14, 17 and 18… After homeschooling 2 to graduation, andone with a learning disability I have reached burnout… A new curriculum will be a breath of fresh air and reset my love for learning at home!
My daughters are 13 and 9 and I love learning WITH them. They have vastly different learning styles. I like the online and book options you provide. I also like that your philosophy is experience-based. Your literature options are worthy. This kind of thing is what we long for.
I have a 3rd grader and a 6th grader that i will be homeschooling for the first time this fall. I like the way oak meadow has a different approach to learning, unlike the typical school method. I also like the fact that they are very literature based.

My children are 7 and 11. I love the Oak Meadow curriculum, and most importantly my children are very interested in it. They are very ‘Hands on” learners and love to get their hand dirty if you will. I see using Oak Meadow as a curriculum will allow us the world as our classroom…not a room of 4 walls.

I love the idea of the hands on gentle approach. So different from the typical classroom situation that we are looking to get away from.
My children are 7 and 9. I’m interested in Oak Meadow since it is Waldorf-related or at least it’s used by some with Waldorf leanings. I started homeschooling with Waldorf style, so this program has always intrigued me.

I have three children 28, 16, and soon to be 11. I started using Oak Meadow Curriculum this year 5th grade for my son. What I love about it the most is that it allows us to follow at our own speed without being overwhelmed with content. The literature and project aspect makes learning more interesting and fun for him. The U.S History and English book is a nice approach to teaching a subject my son loves history and injecting into a subject that he is not so fond of English it makes teaching so much more interesting.
We have a 4 yo and almost 2 yo. I have had my eye on OM for some time now, it seems just the fit for our family!
I decided to begin homeschool this coming fall for my 10 year old 6th grader and my 12 year old 8th grader. I love that Oak Meadow is literature-based and develops critical thinking. This is on our short list of curriculum to use next year.

My son is 9 and my daughter is 5. I have been eyeing Oak Meadow for years but my son is really not a good fit for “formal” lessons; unschooling suits him just fine. My daughter, on the other hand, is so looking forward to lessons, she loves writing, drawing and creating. I truly think Oak Meadow will be a wonderful fit for her because of the gentle learning style and the encouragement of creativity and hands on learning. In addition to ordering 1st grade for her, I will also be ordering the 5th grade kit for my son. Even if it doesn’t work out with him, I will have it for her in a few years.
my children will be 12, 10, almost 8, 2 and newborn in the fall and i love Oak Meadow’s approach to older grades, making it easy for my children to have some autonomy over their education while still covering each subject connecting hands, head and heart. my oldest has used OM for 5th and 6th grade and loved all the rich, quality reading materials.

I have a KG and 1st grader in the fall, and I like how Oak Meadow encourages children to be creative and thoughtful; being a part of the world and not just learning about it from a distance.

I have a 7 year old currently using Oak Meadow grade one and a 3 year old. We love Oak Meadow. We love how it is so easy to use and love the Waldorf approach to learning. It is so easy to fit with your child’s needs and it feels fun and creative rather than forced. I love it’s emphasis on the natural world and the allowing of your child’s soul to unfold.

I love the “soft” approach–all this talk of testing and rigor bugs me so a soft, flexible approach really speaks to my homeschooling heart!
I have two daughters who will soon be 4 and 7. We’d love to give OM a try! We’ve been unschooling and roadschooling the past year, and we are ready to put a little bit more rhythm into our day. My oldest is starting to respond well to focused learning, and OM looks to be similar to our families learning and teaching style.
We homeschool our four boys ages 3, 7, 9, and 11 with Oak Meadow. We started out homeschooling in a more traditional Waldorf program but discovered that Oak Meadow really felt more balanced to our family. I love the imaginative spirit used throughout the grades that not only truly helps foster a love of learning, but incorporates the heart of the child into each lesson. I homeschool a 9yr old, 3yr old and have a 11 month old. I love Oak Meadow for my kiddos because it is the perfect balance of “school “and real life. The structure is not too confining…gives you room to have real rhythm but gives you enough guidance you aren’t floating out in gnome-mans land. Hee hee. Anyway great stuff, I especially love their heart of learning and process of learning books that give the understanding to the why of their guidance.

My children are 5, 3 and 9 months. I find Oak Meadow appealing because it seems to mesh well with my own vision of learning for young children.
My children are 6 and 3 years old. I am most excited about Oak Meadow’s approach to engaging all aspects of the child. This is very appealing to me. I also love that it is language-rich and fosters creativity and independence.
I love oak meadow’s gentle approach that is also thorough and comprehensive. My daughter is asking me to learn each day and I credit oak meadow for that. She is 6 and using OM1 at the moment. Her brothers, 4 and 2, will also be taught with Oak Meadow curriculum when they are older.

Will be homeschooling a kindergartener – both of us first timers. Oak Meadow feels like learning is meant to feel and seems like a balance of experiential with structured learning.
I have a 7 year old in First Grade and has been using the Oak Meadow curriculum. I also have a 4 1/2 year old.
We love how the curriculum connects us to nature and the world around us. The integrative approach adds meaning to her schooling. She expresses herself through art and the projects are so beautiful.

I will be homeschooling for the first time this coming school year. My two girls will be in 6th and 4th grade and the laid back, hands on style of OM seems like it will fit my girls great. I also like that it will fit different learning styles and with my oldest being dyslexic this is very important for me.

Hello there !!
My little girls are seven and 7 months. We will be homeschooling for the very first time this fall. My daughter is extremely talented with crafts and such. Hands on is the way that she learns best and I have come to learn that the Oak Meadow curriculum would work well for her. We are working hard in order to save up and be able to homeschool our girls starting this fall. An Oak Meadow Curriculum for free would be such an immense blessing to our family right now !

this is our first year of homeschooling. we are using oak meadow’s 3rd grade curriculum. we have enjoyed the folk tales part of this grade more than we expected to. they have tied into literature & other lessons, and my son has created a stack of beautiful artwork summarizing each one we’ve read & discussed.
My children are nearly 5 and 7. I love the idea of incorporating a lot of creativity in how they learn and making it an integrated experience for them.

I just wanted to say that. It’s kind of strange someone being a large part of your life & yet you might never even meet them. Anyway, my son is 8 years old.
We’ve homeschooled for quite some time 4 years but are starting to look at a curriculum to help us and begin to get some organization into our days. From what I’ve read about the curriculum you are giving away, it appears to have a Waldorf feel to it. One that I think embodies life itself, while teaching about our world and our place in it. I have an eleven year old boy and we are finishing the fifth grade Oak Meadow curriculum in June. I like Oak Meadow because it is straight forward and easy to work with- I spend a lot of time working one on one with my son because we enjoy learning and working with all the hands on projects together- but with OM curriculum he can complete a lot of the work independently –

My girls are 5 and 7. After viewing the kindergarten Oak Meadow, I was very impressed with the story selection, the engaging crafts and the focus on a slow and creative approach to learning . We love to be outside and investigate what we find and this curriculum seems to encourage outside and imaginative learning so much. I would be so happy to win!

We are from Hong Kong where homeschooling is basically illegal and we are thinking about homeschooling our kids but we haven’t got much support and resources. That’s why the simple homeschooling site is so helpful to us. We are also interested in a children-centred, self-paced curriculum like Oak Meadow. Hopefully we can get more information about it!

My children are age 7 & 2. We haven’t used any Oak Meadow curriculum before but we have friends who really enjoy it. So, from what I hear from friends & read online, my kiddos & I would like the holistic learning approach that OM offers which would encorage me & my children to be more open to exploring & discovering in ways that feel more natural. It would be fantastic to be able to get a hands-on feel of OM for ouselves.

My kids are 6 and 14. I used Oak Meadow 6-8th for my oldest who will be going to high school next year just as my youngest is ready for first grade. In the past I’ve used a mix of “waldorf based” curriculums and I’d love to have this for next year. For those who may “clash” with their teenager II highly recommend their “teacher” program, It allowed me to share knowledge without having to “critique”. Beautiful curriculum that encourages the love of learning and a connections with the earth.
