$5 ebook bundle for 3 days only!

October 2, 2012 //  by Jamie C. Martin

Thank you so much for your interest in the Barlow Family Benefit! At this time, the sale has ended. Thanks to your help in getting the word out, we sold 5,619 bundles and raised more than $26,000 for the Barlow family {not including direct donations}! If you’d still like to donate directly, click here.

I‘m thankful to be here today–passing along both a great deal for you, as well as offering you the opportunity to help a fellow homeschooling family.

I’m participating in a fundraiser organized by my good friend Mandi Ehman from Life Your Way.

Here’s Mandi’s story:

Shortly before midnight on September 9th, my friend Jenny called 911 because her husband Harold was behaving erratically. At the hospital, he was diagnosed with a serious brain infection and moved to the ICU, where he fell into a coma-like state.

Over the next 10 days, their family experienced a series of ups and downs on  the most horrific roller coaster ride you can imagine as they’d receive hopeful news followed by a setback.

On September 18th, Harold passed away despite everything the doctors had done for him.

As you can imagine, Jenny’s heart broke, and not just for herself, but for her five beautiful children as well, who hadn’t seen their dad in 10 days and won’t see him again this side of heaven.

I am blessed to be part of the same incredible Classical Conversations community as Jenny, and we’ve done our best to rally around Jenny throughout Harold’s illness and in the days since to try to share and help carry her heartache during this time. But I want – need – to do something to help her as she moves forward as well.

Because I know there are a million worthy causes asking for donations every day, I didn’t want to simply ask you for money. Instead, I asked some of my favorite bloggers to join me in creating a benefit sale for Jenny and her children.

For three days only, pick up the following collection of ebooks – worth more than $50 – for just $5! And know that 100% of your purchase will go directly to Jenny and her kids. (I’ll even cover the Paypal fees on the first 1,000 purchases to be sure she receives the entire amount.)

If you’d rather donate directly to this precious family, you can do that here.

With your purchase, you’ll receive the following collection of ebooks and printables:

Easy Homemade by Mandi @ Life Your Way

One Bite at a Time by Tsh @ Simple Mom

31 Days to Clean by Sarah Mae @ SarahMae.com

Mindset for Moms by Jamie @ Steady Mom

50 Books to Enjoy with Kids by Veronica and Jessica

Fill ‘Em Up by Laura @ Heavenly Homemakers

Guide to Freezer Cooking by Crystal @ Money Saving Mom

Tell Your Time by Amy @ Blogging with Amy

How to Have Your Cake and Eat It, Too by Mandi @ Life Your Way

Plus the Complete Set of Life Your Way Printables

Head here to buy now!

Even if you’re unable to purchase the collection or make a donation at a time, you can help Jenny and her kids by sharing this offer with your friends:

We’ll be praying – I can’t even begin to imagine how hard it is to pick up the pieces and try to move on after losing husband/dad.

I purchased the bundle & shared on my Facebook business page. May I also link to this post on my own blog?

I am praying for her and the family. I bought the set to help out. I did have a question though. I went to checkout with the printables yesterday and today and both times it says to come back. Am I doing something wrong? I add it to my cart and then put the code in. I appreciate any help!

I homeschool, but very rarely do I read homeschool blogs–I enjoy them when I do, but I am just not in the habit. I had the thought this morning, “I think I’ll google homeschool blogs.” Why??? And then this one was the first one that came up, with this family’s need on the main page. Feel great sadness on behalf of the family, but I am also amazed that of all days, I found this page today, in time to support them & pray for them. Wonder how many others heard the same prompting today & visited the sites with these links. A lesson in listening, thanks for posting, Jamie.
