Welcome to today’s giveaway, sponsored by A Thomas Jefferson Education (also known as TJEd)–the educational philosophy that has revolutionized my own family’s homeschool.
From Rachel DeMille of TJEd:
“TJEd” or “Leadership Education” is a philosophy and methodology that supports personalizing education for each child’s age, gifts and learning style.
Its focus on the 7 Keys of Great Teaching and the Phases of Learning really reduce stress and magnify inspiration.
One of the tools we provide is This Week in History–a daily resource that brings your homeschool or classroom to life!”
With a subscription to This Week in History, each day’s resources are an adventure in math, science, language skills, geography, current events, the arts and so on – all tied to events in history.

Jamie’s homeschool day in the life (with a 9, 10, & 11-year-old)
We desire to make the switch from cyber to traditional homeschooling, although the expense is intimidating. Winning this package would be a huge blessing!
My children are 10, 7, and 5. I am a classical educator at heart, so the history option seems intriguing. Plus, the dad bundle? Totally up my hubby’s alley. Even if he doesn’t know it, yet. 😉
I would love to do more inspiring and less requiring in my home. Thanks!
My boys are 8, 6 and 2. I would love to inspire more then require!
Our boys are almost 9 and 12 years old, and I think we’re all getting somewhat bored with our current history curriculum. I wouldn’t mind shaking things up!!
I have four boys, 8, 7 and twin 2 year olds! My 8 year old is special needs. We would love some inspiration in our home and try to do that by looking through history! This would be put to great use in our home!! 🙂
Mine are 5 and 3 at the moment, and hoping to add one more :). I’m not planning on enrolling the 5 year old in kindergarten in the coming year but will instead be implementing some type of homeschool using the Thomas Jefferson Education principles!
I liked TJEd on facebook and already liked Simple Homeschool :)!
My kids are 10, 13, and 13. I think they would love “This Week in History”. Mentoring in the Classics sounds like it would be great for my kids also.

I am homeschooling my 13 year, seventh grader for the first time this year. I enjoy it so much, but struggle a bit with math. I am so thankful though for this opportunity to spend some more time with my child. I can’t believe we are about to celebrate his 14th birthday!
My kids are 12, 9, 2, 5months. I hope to win because I have been interested in the Thomas Jefferson Education from the posts I have read on this blog.
I have liked both on Facebook.
My five year old and I could use some more inspiration.
My children are 6, 5, and 3. My journey in homeschool is leading me more and more toward simplicity with intention. I would love to learn more about this style of homeschool.
We’ve been home schooling our 9-year-old from day 1, and Mr almost-4 will start this year. Our philosophy is eclectic, but our approach has tended toward traditional school-at-home. I nearly burned out last year, and do not want that to happen again this year. The curriculum that promises to instil a love of learning in my children has left me wanting, and the idea of “inspiring, not requiring” sounds like it would help rekindle the fire in our eyes and the harmony in our home.

Hello Simple Homeschool,
It was once said by our prophet “search for knowledge even if you have to travel to China”….. so here I am reaching out to you…. in the hope of helping myself, my kids, my famiy… and a community.
We moved here almost two years ago, to a remote, little town, Morocco.
We came here to learn a language and a deeper knowledge of our religion. We are also conscious that our seclusion from the modern world is a great way to create a little learning sanctuary. Althought there are no libraries here, we are motivated to build our own… and maybe , eventually open it up to the illiterate population . Living here has changed alot on our perspective on life, especially on homeschooling.
But my journey to TJED was a special one. I must say that moving here ( with our fifteen boxes of books) tree children, one of wich was a newborn, adapting to the heat and many other discomforts has taken a toll on us..especially me. The first year was Very challenging. I felt as if I was a book that was torn into pieces…. a cup that was emptied…. however I knew that this process was necessary. I knew somewhere deep down, that to properly build you must destroy the old foundations. To write a book you need a blank book. So here I was, feeling I needed to start fresh. My husband and I disagreed on many homeschooling theories we had. I was too soft, he was too hard. I kept thinking of Jamie Martin and simplehomeschool whom I found when we arrived here. Just because she was at the time in the Philippines, and I, here, I somehow felt connected…. then I thought Tjed might be a middle ground for us… and it was.. finally a piece of my heart started to mend… but it goes deeper then that… everything I am reading is touching my soul…is caressing my heart. Not only TJED makes sense on the intellectual level, but also, or mostly on the emotional level. Because we learn with all our senses, not just with our brain. And the process I am going through with the readings is drawing beautiful colors in my blank notebook… inside of me…
Back in Canada, I use to take learning for granted, a necessary skill you need to live. But now I see the value of learning, I can see what happens when one does not learn!!!! And I can understand how aquiring knowledge can change lives and communities.I understand how knowledge of the world and its history can bring us to higher levels of consciousness.. and really it is with knowledge that we can move whole societies.
By helping us as a family, you would not only help us , but a community, because, I feel I have a mission here. yes I came here to learn, but I feel I also came here to teach.. Teach these kids that have no where to go exept from the streets. nothing to do, exept from looking at their cell phones. We would like to offer them a library, a place of inspiration, a place for them to discover passions, to discover themselves. these children are starving for knowledge, and we feel we
can help them. They already come to our house, eyes open up wide to the few books lying around… as we bring out a few blank pages and crayons… Maybe I need to provide for them, to learn myself.
thank you very much, may peace and blessings be with you.

Our boys are 12, 10, 8 and 4. I would like to win this package, if it’s not late to enter, because I have begun the 7 keys certification process, but I haven’t bought all the books I need yet. I am so excited to have some more clear direction and focus to inspire our boys. We have gotten into a rut of checking off the lists and I want to change things as I learn, keep what we’re doing well and personalize and individualize to help them pursue their passions. This would help us greatly!
