Just a few more days to write your own homeschool day in the life blog post – our link up is on Monday, Feb 2nd, and we’d love to have you join in!
Enjoy this week’s homeschool inspiration:
- It’s not forever: A gentle homeschool reminder :: From contributor Kara Anderson of Quill and Camera
- Night owls, early birds and homeschooling :: The Pioneer Woman
- How to transition from public school to homeschool :: Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers
- 9 novels to curl up with this winter :: Modern Mrs. Darcy
- God can redeem anything :: We are THAT Family
My recommendations this week:
This game is a FUN way to get your kids comfortable with addition and subtraction – way more engaging and better for retention than boring ole’ flash cards! Use dry beans as counters until your kids get the hang of it.
Do you have a “girl who wants to change the world?” Trishna is reading this book, which features chapters on Amy Carmichael, Corrie ten Boom, Gladys Aylward plus others.
This School House Rock DVD is super-affordable, and watching the show again as an adult makes me appreciate even more how well made they are–so catchy but also packed with info!
Featured sponsors this week:
In a world where so many children have a “math-phobia,” hearing my kids laugh at the table over our math lessons is music to my ears, and it’s all thanks to Life of Fred. Educents has the cheapest prices I’ve ever found for this curriculum.
I’ve been asked many times if Little Passports is appropriate for preschoolers – well, they’ve unveiled a new global experience just for ages 3-5!
“Early Explorers” lets your littles investigate a new global theme each month–through materials delivered right to your mailbox. I so would have signed up for this if it had been around when my kiddos were this age!
