Share your homeschool day in the life
i need a boost or inspiration in where to start with homeschooling my 6th grade son who I’m pulling from public school next year. Do I go hybrid? What curriculum? Do it all on my own? Co-op? I don’t know??? I’ve got it down for my 1st grader but 6th grade seems daunting.

I would love to explore more curriculum and different homeschool philosophies. I would like to add another level of complexity next year, and I could use some fresh ideas for how to do that.
I really need a boost to let me know that everything is going to be okay. I need a boost to let me know that learning disabilities do not define a child and that doing kindergarten math at 11 is better than doing no math at all. I really want to go to the special needs sessions at the conference in Ft Worth because I feel pretty overwhelmed and need to hear from veteran moms that it’s going to be okay. Plus, at this point, I need some fresh ideas and inspiration to help motivate my children and myself.
I need a boost in where to even start with homeschooling my twins next year. They are in kindergarten in public school now and my husband and I have decided to homeschool next school year! We are very excited and plan on attending the homeschool convention in our city.
I am needing encouragement during these high school years! We are truly blessed to homeschool and would love to hear how others are moving along with middle and high school children. Thank you for sharing this wonderful giveaway!

I need a boost to get started! I need lots of direction to get my daughter started with kindergarten in the fall.
Our home school needs a motivation boost. I feel so busy with the baby and house work, I never want to follow through on the fun school plans.
I liked the Great Homeschool Convention page and the Simple Homeschool page on facebook.
We need a boost in history & geography. We love Story of the World & Little Passports, but could use a fun boost to bring it all together with maps. My children enjoy historical fiction, so I’m searching for ways to bring the history alive & tie it all together in a fun way for them.
I need some new creative ideas and some help with math issues.
I had already liked Great Homeschool Conventions and Simple Homeschool.
We need a boost in our homeschooling as this is our very first year to start. I have a kinder at home who we will be homeschooling full time in the fall. I need a boost as where to begin and going to a convention like this would steer me in the right direction.
I need encouragement and renewed motivation. We have homeschooled for 5 years, but this past year, our family moved, and then faced major illness. I still struggle to get into a good routine after our life changes, to capture the hearts of my kids rather than just focus on subject content, and remember why I am not dropping them off at the local public school.
I need a boost in starting to homeschool my two children. They are currently going to a Montessori School in town and my daughter is graduating from their program. Although my daughter have thrived there, I don’t feel my son is getting what he needs from their program. My daughter is going into the 7th grade and my son is going into the 4th grade next year.
Our family could use some inspiration for sure! Last year was our first year homeschooling and I just had a 1st grader. This year we added our daughter in with Kindergarten. I have a preschooler and a baby on the way…due 1 month before the school year starts next fall! I am already feeling the anxieties and pressures of doing it all and doing it well! Some encouragement would be a great thing!
I have wanted to try attending one of these conferences for a couple of years now, but it would be quite a trip. Being around lots of other home schooling families and hearing great speakers in itself would be a boost. We’ve home schooled for 5 years now, and the past 2 years have begun making a shift in the way we think about it. We’re taking more of a classical approach now and I’ve let go of a lot of the worry that we aren’t doing ‘enough.’ The boost I could use right now is just new ideas and to hear stories of others.

I need more organization/ structure
My son is currently in a school that you teach two days and the other two days he’s in class with a teacher and other students. I need a boost of knowing its possible for me to do strickly homeschooling (I’m a single mother) with the help of conventions like this and that there is hope for children with auditory processing delays to retain the info they are given.
We need an extra kick of fun and creativity…. I’ve found that we have fallen into a “rut” and the girls aren’t having as much fun as when we first started our homeschooling journey.
I am needing a boost and encouragement with homeschooling a 7th grader who is very resistant, does not love to learn and also with some of the day in day out logistics. This is our 2nd year of homeschooling and trying to make a huge change/shift from the paradigm of “attending” school and what that looks like is huge and overwhelming.

I could use a boost in developing some new curriculum ideas and for putting together easier activities for our homeschooling group as a whole. We had difficulty getting together and creating events for our homeschooling groups.
I’d like to get on a better schedule, and I’d like to get back into the habit of doing family read-alouds.
My family and I are excited about the Great Homeschool Convention coming to our area. This will be my first time homeschooling and I am thrilled to get information about teaching my 6th grader, 3rd grader, and Kindergartener. God has been tugging on my heart to be with my kids more and teach them. I’m overjoyed and am praying for discernment and knowledge to fill my shoes as a good teacher/mom. We need the boost that slow and steady is much better than just blazing through the material to check boxes. I like to plan and set a timeline, but my kids simply do not function that way. Sometimes they stall out and sometimes they surge ahead. I need to just keep following their lead.
I am a first year homeschooler to my son. He is 8 and has Autism. I had to take him out of public school because of intense bullying that he was receiving. The school (teacher, principal, and Superintendent) would not help with the matter. With everything starting new, I need a boost in more ways on how to teach certain areas to help boost his understanding in the areas of math, phonics, and reading comp. I would love to learn more way in how to bring sensory play into our learning to help his comprehension and also calm his senses. I love this new adventure that we are on.

Now in our fifth year of homeschooling, we need encouragement to stay the course and that it’s worth it.
We need a boost in fun and hands on activities. I hate to admit it but we have not done much by the way of fun since our last baby was born in July. We have been doing more school at home because that means I don’t have to chase a toddler and nurse a baby at the same time. Maybe I need a boost in confidence…..

My 4 kids and I need a boost in terms of something new and exciting. This long winter is making this school year seem loooonnngg!
Boost in motivation for me to do better prep work so I’m ready to go whenever the moment is right. We are flexible and have littles at home (youngest is 6 mo). We know we want to continue homeschooling but sometimes my lack of sleep can demotivate me.
The boost I most need would be motivation to stay on track. I think the kids would benefit also from my motivation.
Biggest boost for our school would be more outdoor time!
We mostly just need a break right now – a bit of personal/family refreshing time. Luckily we leave on Friday for a bit of time away!

This is my first year homeschooling and I often second guess myself. Are they learning enough? Are we doing what we should be? The biggest boost I need is a confidence boost.

We need a serious kick in the pants over here! My grandmother passed away in December, and the week after, I dislocated my knee. Needless to say, things have been slow going. I know it’s ok to go slowly when we need to, but the convention would re-inspire and remind us why we’re doing this!
I just need some encouragement to keep going. This has been a hard year.
This is our first year homeschooling and it’s been a struggle. I feel like I need more ideas and instruction. I was not able to go to any conventions before we started, and really enjoying going to one before we start our second year.

Even though I’ve been homeschooling for 12 years, I’ve only had opportunity to go to part of 1 or 2 homeschool conventions. Our daughter just started college, and we’re still homeschooling our 12-year-old son, which is quite challenging (he IS a BOY!) I would SO LOVE to win this package and actually get to attend such a wonderful opportunity. Just getting to attend would be a big boost.

I would like to see all of the curricula that are presented at the convention. We have been homeschooling for a couple of years and it seems like I am introduced to something new all of the time, so it would be nice to kind of have everything together and see what looks like something we would like (and something we wouldn’t like). I am so exhausted. I am not sure what boost we need to be honest. I feel like I have so little time for me anymore and that I am getting lost in all the needs of my family. Conventions and conference are great sources of encouragement from me, so I would be so excited to win this.

The boost I need are the real life stories of homeschooling days that I hear each year at this convention. It reminds me I am not alone in this journey and gives me the encouragement I need to continue with this journey.

We are getting ready to homeschool our high schooler. With this being our first time homeschooling a high schooler, I really feel the need to attend seminars to encourage me and guide me through this process. I am intimidated by it and a bit fearful! I know it can be done, but I need the “shot in the arm” this conference can provide.
Hmm, I need a boost to get more organized and disciplined in our home school. I think that will lead to more art and creativity.

Our homeschool could use a vacation in some warmer weather. Seriously.
After 18 years of homeschooling, and faced with one very resistant highschooler, plus a 6th grader who is eager for my time and attention, yet always seems to be “put on the back burner” due to the challenges and busyness of everyday life, as well as the heartache of homeschool burnout, I am thirsting for a boost in creativity, motivation, and support. Attending the conference in Fort Worth would be the perfect nutrition for my hungry soul.
I just need to learn about homeschooling in general, we start next year!

My homeschool needs a boost of confidence right now! I am in my first “real” year of homeschooling my children. We are preparing to move out of a very homeschool-rich area and don’t know what type of support we will find in our new community. I was thrilled to see one of these conventions is being offered in Ohio, a couple of hours from where we are headed! I hope to connect with other local homeschoolers there.

We began homeschooling partly due to a desire to take a one month mission trip to Niger, Africa. Within weeks of our planned departure ten individuals were killed and 70 churches burned. After much prayer and seeking wise counsel, we have decided not to go at this time. So, in addition to being in a winter funk, we are also disappointed that this awesome trip we’ve been planning will not happen at this time. We could use a boost!

This year has been a rough year for our homeschool. I think what we need is more electronic free time, more sleep (for me), more organization (for me) and I need help finding a curriculum or several that work for my youngest who would rather not sit and do worksheets.

More hands on activities are needed. We have paperwork to do but are lacking in the other areas.
We need a boost with math! Always math. Also would love encouragement and help homeschooling two of my children with sensory processing challenges.
I have a High Functioning Autistic 15 year old that I homeschool, our boost needs to be with direction and focus, he is in 9th grade. I feel like neither of us are getting this homeschooling thing down. I need a boost in confidence, strength, wisdom, knowing that he is learning. He struggles with getting started and finishing tasks. I too have already liked Great Homeschool and Simple Homeschool on FB. Our biggest struggles are Math and Reading.
We are just starting with kindergarten and I don’t feel like I can mess too much up quite yet, but I still need to learn more in general and figure out a vision for how I want this to work. We are just kind of winging it right now and I know I can’t get away with that as she gets older!
We could use help in just about every capacity imaginable! As a first time homeschooler to two formally publicly schooled children this year has been one filled with a lot of self doubt. Attending this convention with free tix would be a tremendous help.

We just need to get started! My daughter is four and I am so ready to start exploring all the different things available out there. Going to a convention would an awesome introduction I think!
I am finding that I need to change what we are doing completely. Much of what I am doing now is just not working. I have spent the past few weeks realizing that we all need a fresh start…I am weary but I don’t want to give up! This can be a happy experience for all of us. I just need to find out what that means for our family. Too many days end in tears (theirs and mine).
