“Much education today is monumentally ineffective. All too often we are giving young people cut flowers when we should be teaching them to grow their own plants.” ~ John W. Gardner

Great reads, as always! I love the one about preschools especially. I found a video I love aobut how they do preschool in Sweden and posted it here: http://magicalchildhood.wordpress.com/2010/12/07/what-we-can-learn-from-swedish-preschools/. I find their preschools so inspiring (focused on play, nature, wholesome food, etc.) and find it very telling that even though those students enter school unable to read or write (at 5 or 6), within a few years they have the highest literacy skills in Europe. I also just believe small children deserve to live their childhood. 🙂

My goodness….I can’t thank you enough for linking to me. I am so busy with daily life that I don’t have time to read many blogs or promote my blog, so you can imagine my surprise when I checked my stats today! I do love your site, so it’s wonderful to have a link here and see what good company I am in. You are very kind.
