My kids are 11, 8, 6, 3, and 3. We love geological experiments! Trying to re-create the effects of a strong river eroding soil on the river banks in our backyard with a hose and a big sloped area of dirt … and then making mud pies afterward 🙂

My schoolers are 6 and 4. We’ve been studying air, and they loved when we got out straws and tested what we could move by blowing through them. So simple, but lots of fun!

My kids are 14, 12, 4 and 20 months. My kids really love experiments that deal with chemical reactions and cause a change in color or force. One of their favorites (which my oldest had to figure out how it was done without help of the internet etc) was blowing up a balloon with a soda bottle (and of course some baking soda and vinegar). It was a time he and his stepfather really bonded in working through the experiment.

My kids are 4 and 6. We’ve done a few science experiments this year, but the one they still talk about from last year is when we learned about the sense of taste & how the tongue senses different tastes in different places. They still laugh about how gross they thought unsweetened cocoa powder was.

My kids are ages 10,9,6,3. We enjoy science in general, but our favorite thing ever was keeping a praying mantis for about 2 months, feeding, watching it hunt, and watching it lay an egg sac. And there’s the favorite science stand-by of giving kids a cup of vinegar and a cup of baking soda, and letting them go crazy.

We have all boys, ages 11, 7, 2.5 and 2 mos. They are always looking up some kind of experiment! The latest was using a magnifying glass to start things on fire. The 11 year old stayed at it until he successfully started a small bonfire to burn leaves and trash. Would love to give them more things to play learn with 🙂

My kids are 4, 5 and 15 months. So far, our only “official” science experiment has been to build and erupt a homemade volcano– over and over and over. My 5 year old daughter says she wants to be a scientist when she grows up. Currently, she says she wants to be the sort that studies volcanoes. She would love this kit!
