Giveaway: $100 package from Great Homeschool Conventions

March 8, 2016 //  by Jamie C. Martin

Speaker at Business Conference and Presentation.

This giveaway has ended; thanks for your interest!

Welcome to this week’s giveaway–sponsored by Great Homeschool Conventions!

About GHC:

“Why would you want to attend a Great Homeschool Conventions event?

Each year, we begin to build the coming year’s event with that question in mind. We love our homeschooling families and want to bring the very best to you. We strive to provide top notch homeschool conventions that encourage, inspire, and educate homeschooling families to continue to do what they do best: homeschool!

This coming year’s events promise to be packed with great speakers, a huge exhibit hall, a separate “children’s conference,” and family-friendly special events.

First, we gather the cream of the crop for speakers and put together the best line up possible. We have 40–50 featured speakers each year.

There are over 230 speaking sessions presented at each event. Here are just a few of our amazing speakers in 2016: Ann Voskamp, John Stonestreet, Chrystal Evans Hurst, Dr. Kathy Koch.”

“We also have several “tracks” which address specific interests of homeschooling families:

  • Homeschool 101 track
  • Real Faith for the Real World Teen track
  • Special Needs track
  • Parenting track

Each year, we also search for special events which offer a learning experience or a fun night out for families to spend time together.

Dr-Inge-Auerbacher-blog-post-header

This coming year, we are happy to have these events:

  • The Willis Clan at the Texas and Midwest conventions.
  • Holocaust survivor Dr. Inge Auerbacher at the Midwest event.
  • Comedian Bob Smiley at the Texas homeschool convention.
  • Comedian Dennis Regan at the California homeschool convention.
  • Professional Christian theatrical company Friends of the Groom will perform their version of C.S. Lewis’ popular novel, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe at all GHC events.

We will see you there:

  • TEXAS Homeschool Convention, Fort Worth, TX, March 17–19, 2016
  • MIDWEST Homeschool Convention, Cincinnati, OH, March 31–April 2, 2016
  • CALIFORNIA Homeschool Convention, Ontario, CA, June 16–18, 2016

I have a 12 year old and an almost 9 year old. We attended a local convention when beginning our homeschool journey back when my oldest was ready to start kindergarten. I took my mom along and it really got her on board with homeschooling. I’ve thought often I’d like to go again, but the time and expense has always been too much for us.

Hi! We have three sweet boys, ages 4, 6 and 8. We have struggled to find schooling for our oldest and have the experience of public school and private school with him. After much prayer, learning through mistakes and finally coming to the conclusion that homeschooling is what is best for our family we are stepping out in faith. I have clumsily begun homeschooling kinder this year and will homeschool 3rd grade but am very new at it and have so many questions. I’ve never been to a homeschooling convention and hope to be able to go so I can get a solid footing & encouragement to help us start our journey. Thank you for this opportunity.

We love going to the Great Homeschool Convention because they have something for our entire family–tracks for the elementary kids, teens, moms, and dads! My husband even takes days off, so he can listen to the speakers. He especially likes listening to the Caseys from Celebrate Calm. 🙂 Thank you very much for the opportunity! May God continue to bless you and your families.

I have 3 daughters aged 12, 10, & 8 and a son that is 5. We have never homeschooled, but are really interested in starting it as we have come to realize the decline in the public school system in our area, our own need as parents to spend more time with our children, and to have more say in what, how, when our kids learn. We would very much like to attend a convention to learn more about the future we would like to embark on! Thank you for your consideration.

Our kids are 12, 11, 9, 6, 2, and 5 months. The past two years I’ve only been homeschooling one of the kids at a time, but next year, all four of our school-age kids want to be back in homeschooling–and we’ll have two little ones around, too. Although I’ve homeschooled 3 at a time, I’m feeling out of practice, in over my head, but excited…and terrified. I would love to get re-inspired and re-tooled for this new season of homschooling.
