Giveaway: $125 package from Sparkle Stories

August 26, 2014 //  by Jamie C. Martin

Helping & Healing Audio Stories

This giveaway has ended; thanks for your interest!

“Your son struggles with fear of the dark. Your daughter is sensitive, and gets overwhelmed easily. You want your children to be more generous with each other.

What can help? Stories. Children can learn new ways of relating, and can discover new inner resources, simply by listening to stories that address their challenges.”

Sparkle Stories produces original audio stories for children.  Our stories are simple, delightful and filled with a sense of wonder.  They inspire children to play, to marvel, to laugh, to be kind.

We have eleven original subscription Story Series – all of which follow the seasons of the year. Families can subscribe and hear fresh stories each week, or they can try our Audio Books — with easy downloads right off the Sparkle site.

We also have story packages for travel, story packages to give as gifts, and stories for all ages. Perfect for every day quiet times, car rides or family travel!

About our Helping & Healing Series:

facing.fear.pinterestThis series features monthly episodes that address a common challenge, threshold or need in the young child.

Each episode contains three different stories, each of which explores that challenge from a different perspective.

Children will feel seen, and then will be offered possible strategies for how to be with the challenge and cross the new threshold.

$125 Giveaway Package

Today one Simple Homeschool reader will win all 10 Helping & Healing Audio Books, including: Facing Fear, Gratitude, Overwhelm, Sibling Rivalry, Grief & Loss, the Sensitive Child, Resilience, Moving, Boredom and Back-to-School, plus one year to any one Subscription Series of your choice!

My kids are 5, 4, 3, 2, & 1. We are currently in-country adopting my 5 and 3 year old. We are in the process of learning to be a family and helping our children from hard places heal. We already have the gratitude stories from Sparkle Stories, but all the other stories in this giveaway our currently relevant to our family! (Also, an extra thank you to Sparkle Sleepytime for saving nap time while all five kids had to sleep in the same room over here in Uganda!)

My boys are 9,6 &3. The story on moving would be something they could learn from. We have recently moved overseas and are in the process of relocating within the country after a very stressful start to life overseas. We love sparkle stories

My little girl is 5 and she’s …well, she’s a quitter. It drives my husband crazy that she gives up so easily. I wonder if the Resilience story would help?

  6. Martha

    August 26, 2014 at 6:54 am

Great give-a-way! I have two boys, 9 & 4. It’s a tough call between sibling rivalry (seems to be peaking- or at least I hope this is the peak!) and grief and loss (we lost my mom this spring).

Our twin girls are three-and-a-half and we live in Melbourne, Australia. We just began listening to Sparkle Stories this week, having seen them featured on simplehomeschool.net. The most helpful sets for us at the moment would be the Overwhelm and Sensitive Child stories, though I am sure we would learn something from each of the stories in the series. I have liked both Simple Homeschool and Sparkle Stories on Facebook. Thanks for all you do here — there’s a wealth of information I have found to be so encouraging and helpful!

    August 26, 2014 at 7:54 am

My girls are 5 and 8. I’m not sure which audiobook they would benefit more… Gratitude or Sibling Rivalry! It would be great to have both! We have listened to Sparkle Stories for years. Pick us! : )

  13. Lauren

    August 26, 2014 at 8:04 am

My kids are 9, 6, and 6. I can’t decide which would be better, Facing Fear or Overwhelm, because I’m not sure which is going on with one of my sons concerning learning to read. I know Gratitude would definitely be helpful to all of them as well. But really, all of the books in the series would be great for them.

My kids are 11, 9, 8, and 5. I think the “Moving” Sparkle Story would be encouraging because we’ve moved twice in the last year and are now in temporary housing (with lots of their things in storage) with at least one more move looming in the coming months. (Do they make a “Moving” Spsrkle Story for grown ups?!)

  19. Alanna

    August 26, 2014 at 8:20 am

My boys are two and four. My oldest would benefit from a few of the stories, but the most timely would be the story about moving. We are moving away from both sides of our families soon.

  20. Allie

    August 26, 2014 at 8:23 am

My girls are 4 and 7 years old – I think the gratitude story would be so helpful – I’m always trying to instil in them how blessed they are but having external reinforcement would be great!
    Thanks for the contest!

I’ve been wanting to try Sparkle Stories with my kiddos for a while. They sound terrific. My kids are 2 and 4, and resilience/sensitivity are probably the biggest areas they’re working on right now.

  24. Lisa

    August 26, 2014 at 8:28 am

My kids are 3 and 5. We have two major moves ahead of us in the next two years so the moving stories would be really helpful for us.

My children are 4.5 and almost 3. The “Moving” stories would be most helpful to us right now! We had to move due to my husband’s sudden job change and we’re currently living with my parents until we can sell our house. We could ALL benefit from a good story right now!

My children really could use these books. Both suffer from incredible anxiety that came from their life before us. They are 8 and 12 years old. Frankly, most of the titles that I read would apply to both children… A few of them are more for one or the other.

My kids are 5 and 1 (will be 6 and 2 in October) and right now I think Gratitude or Sibling Rivalry would be the most helpful to them. Thanks for hosting this giveaway–I’ve seen Sparkle Stories mentioned multiple times on some of my favorite blogs, so I’m excited for this chance to win. 🙂

  36. Stephanie

    August 26, 2014 at 8:51 am

My daughter is 6 and since we are in the middle of selling our house (the only home she has known) and moving, we would definitely benefit from the moving one. Sparkle Stories do seem to help ease through the changes kids face, the one about the tooth fairy gave my daughter the courage to have her first loose tooth fall out.

My sons are 3 and 18 months, and the third is due in 2 months time. I think the gratitude book would be great for us-we have soo much and yet it never seems to be enough, both my sons seem to think that we cannot go anywhere and leave empty handed

My four and six year old daughters adore Sparkle Stories! The “Resilience” audiobook would be a top-pick for me. Resiliency is a character trait that serves all of us and these stories would help as we continue to build upon the foundations we have already established.

  68. Nina

    August 26, 2014 at 9:52 am

Just this morning I thought, “I need to find some audio books for a quiet/rest time in the afternoon.” My almost four year old is out-growing her nap! I also have a 7 year old who has recently started to enjoy audio books. I think we could benefit from any of the audio programs, but especially the ones on Sibling Rivalry, Sensitive Child, and Facing Fears. Those are all areas that apply to our daily struggles. Glad to find this resource!!!

I have a 3 and 8 year old. I think the stories that would help us the most are overwhelm, the sensitive child, and resiliency . As a military family who moved often, my oldest has had to face a lit if challenges and behavior adjustments. His little sister tries to copy him, so it can become quite overwhelming. This would be very helpful as part of our homeschool curriculum.

I have been following Sparkle Stories for a while now with the intention of getting a few, but haven’t done so yet. We listen to HOURS of audio material and I know this would be huge blessing for my whole family, especially the one on fear for 2 of my children.

  79. Nichole

    August 26, 2014 at 10:10 am

My children are 7, 6, almost 5 and almost 2. These kids need to hear stories about sibling rivalry! (And I need to read Amy McCready’s book). Also the sensitive child and being with fear.

We are preparing to move our clan once again and I have four young kids (ages 2-8) that i know would be blessed by these!

I have four kids. Madison is 5, James is 4, Marybeth is 2, and Luke is 3 weeks old! I think the audio book that would benefit them most right now is the one on GRATITUDE. We’ve been trying to teach them 1 Thes. 5:18, “In everything give thanks, for this is God’s will for you in Christ.” It’s so easy for them to focus on things that don’t go their way or when they don’t get what they want or expect (isn’t that the case for even us as adults, too!). My husband and I are trying to pray with them to give thanks in all things, and to find specific things to be thankful for so that they would not be overwhelmed by negative thinking and attitudes so much.

We are blessed with three strong, independent and opinionated girls ages 5, 3 and 1. We have listened to Sparkle Stories samples for the past two years as they are available. They got me through some of the darkest postpartum days when my middle daughter wanted to “send the baby away” because “this is not her house”. Which such young, close-in-age siblings we have struggled daily with sibling rivalry. I think healthy relationships are the backbone to everything in life – learning compassion, growing beyond fears, trusting others, loving without fear, confidence in self, developing a grateful spirit. For this , I would be ecstatic to win the sibling rivalry series from Sparkle Stories.

The sparkle story that would most benefit my 7 year old is facing your fears. She seems to have a lot of them. Its something we are always working on.

My kids are almost 6 and 3. My 6-year-old would probably benefit most from stories about learning to deal with overwhelming situations and emotions. She really struggles to find appropriate ways to deal with her (very strong) emotions. We love Sparkle stories!

I have two girls, ages 5 and 6. I think the helping and healing Sparkle Story about gratitude would be so beneficial for my girls to hear. We are so blessed to have food in our bellies, a warm bed to sleep in, and good health – all things we take for granted. Both the girls and I could use some help remembering these blessing and being more grateful for what we have!

So, the sibling rivalry would be so helpful! It’s easy to get annoyed as their Mama. I want so much to give them tools to “check” themselves and desire to love each other well. ~ Christy

    August 26, 2014 at 4:50 pm

My children are 5, 3, and 10 months old. We would probably benefit most from the book on being overwhelmed (given how my 3 year old can be swept away by her emotions), on sibling rivalry (given how close in age they all are, and the two older ones are contending for attention with the baby), on resilience (given the sensitive nature of my 5 year old), and on going back to school (since the 3 and 5 year olds are feeling trepidation about returning.) Many thanks!

My children are 10, 5 & 2. Our family would most benefit from either the Gratitude or Boredom Sparkle Story. It seems like my sons are always complaining of having “nothing to do” (despite school assignments, plentiful toys, art supplies on hand…you get the idea). I’m constantly looking for ways to spark their creativity, but also want them to figure it out for themselves, as well as be thankful for the many wonderful gifts and opportunities they’ve been given.

I would LOVE to win!! We are about to embark on travelin the country in our RV and we have a 10 yr old girl, 7 yr old boy and a 17 month old. I think the sibling rivalry would be awesome because I am seeing how important it is for the two older kids to cherish and challenge each other as they will be there own best friends as we travel. I think the story would help them to see they are not alone in their struggle to communicate and co-exist. =) They are not alone and there are options to move through the conflict!
