Weekend giveaway: Great Homeschool Conventions

//  by Jamie C. Martin

Great Homeschool Conventions

This giveaway has ended; thanks for your interest!

Welcome to this weekend’s giveaway–hosted by Great Homeschool Conventions!

Great Homeschool Conventions will hold this year’s regional conventions in South Carolina (March), Ohio (April), and California (June). Each convention features a huge (and I mean huge!) Homeschool Curriculum exhibit hall.

This year’s featured speakers include Dr. Benjamin Carson, Heidi St. John, Dr. Thomas Woods, Dr. Kathy Koch, Gianna Jessen, Dr. Jay Wile, Cathy Duffy, Jim Weiss, Steve Demme, and many more.

When I attended and spoke at last year’s convention in Ohio, I was truly impressed with the professionalism and organization that had gone into the event. The number of sessions to choose from meant something for everyone no matter your needs.

Attendees get to choose from hundreds of encouraging, equipping, information-packed workshops…selecting those that are most applicable to YOUR homeschooling efforts. There is also an optional children’s program and a special track for teens–real faith for the real world.

* Cincinnati, Ohio (April 24-26, 2014)

    Ours are 13, 12 and 10. We would love to go to the Texas Convention. I think it would encourage us and we may even be able to encourage others. This would be a first time for my husband to be able to go with us. We have been to one other convention in OK.

    My children are 9, 6, 3, and 1. I would absolutely love to go to the great homeschool convention, because I had always thought I couldn’t homeschool because of my oldest childs issues. Three weeks before school started I was convinced by some homeschooling moms that I needed to homeschool because of his issues. The more I read the more I knew they were right. With little time to prepare I pulled my two oldest out of school.. no time to research curriculums and on a tight budget ebayed all of the most common curriculum I knew of (Abeka). Great curriculum and working well for my younger son. I need something very different for my older son. This convention will really educate me hopefully not only on the different types of curriculum, but also different styles so that I can help all four of my children be the best that they can be. Not tobe mention I need anyto organizational tips I canhave get. 🙂 Thanks, Kimberly

    My children are 3 and 4. I have done homeschooling for pre school and I really love it. I plan to keep on for kindergarten and feel excited to learn about my kids and what approach or combination of approaches fit our family. I would love to win this as the timing would be perfect.

    My kids are 16, 5, 4, 2 and 8 months. I am just getting started teaching my younger ones. I would love the chance to learn more about curriculum choices, as well as attending the workshops and just being around other homeschooling families. There aren’t many where we live and it would be nice to get some encouragement.

    I have an almost 8yo son, 6yo son, 4yo daughter, 2yo son, & 3mo daughter. We are in our 3rd year of homeschooling. I have never attended a homeschool conference before and have been looking to attend one before the fall this year. I am definitely in need of some inspiration and encouragement and I think this convention would be an awesome opportunity! Thank you!

    The children I homeschool are 20 (Russian abortion survivor, thus delayed development) & 10. I would like to attend because I lead different life now and need the encouragement to press on. After 25+ years married and 15+ years hs’ing, I am now a single mom due to an unwanted/unexpected divorce. What a blessing this would be. 🙂

    I have a 4 year old and we’re just getting started with decisions like curriculum and groups and such. I’d love to explore these options at the convention

    My boys are 4 and 22 months. I am considering pull ing my 4 yo out of school as he is crying every morning saying “I don’t want to go to school!”. It takes hours to finish homework. I believe the structured schooling is not right for my son and felt with homeschooling I can nuture his learning capabilities.
