Giveaway: $275 package from History Unboxed

//  by Jamie C. Martin

This giveaway has ended; thanks for your interest!

Welcome to today’s giveaway, brought to you by Elizabeth of History Unboxed:

“When I started homeschooling my own children ten years ago, I decided that if I managed to instill in them a life-long love of learning, then I would consider the whole experience a success.

Over the years, the lessons that my students have found the most meaningful and memorable are the ones where many of their senses are engaged and where the material is presented in an emotionally relatable way.

History in particular is a subject that educators so often find overwhelming. Although Pinterest and blogs abound with creative ideas, let’s face it: life is busy.

As home educators we don’t always have time to source and assemble hands-on lessons.

historyunboxed2

At History Unboxed, we want to help you! We see history as an exciting and riveting narrative: you and your child can have fun with it!

The adventure begins when you sign up for a subscription through our website. We have two options: One for ages 5-9 and one for ages 10-15.

The following month your child will receive a welcome box from our brother and sister duo Zane and Ava. The pair magically travel through time in the ancient world, and their adventures will present the time period to your child through the activities in the box.

Each month will feature a different time and place–history with hands on crafts, activities, and art all organized for you so all you have to do is open the box and start learning.

In addition to your monthly box, each month we post lots of ideas, links to videos, and books for you to browse on our Facebook, Twitter, email list, and Pinterest pages. Follow along with us and let us organize great resources, many of them free!

History Unboxed can be used as a stand alone curriculum or in harmony with your existing history resource of choice.

We hope that we can make your time teaching history an enjoyable, stress free, memorable experience for you and your child. Come discover History in a new way: History Unboxed!

    My guys are 11 and 8. The both love history and have really enjoyed the game, Timeline Historical Events. While they seem to enjoy whatever we are discussing we always seem to come back to castles and knights.

    My kids are 6-going-on-7 and 8-going-on-9–but I think we would need the box for 10-15-year-olds! My eldest, following in the footsteps of his history professor father, has been a history fiend for so long that he already knew about the Holocaust from his own reading by the time he was 6. So it doesn’t much matter what historical period *I* like to study with my children (I was a medievalist . . . ); the eldest son is all about WWII, with the Civil War and the American Revolution tossed in for variety.

    My daughter is 8 years old. History is by far her favorite subject. She really enjoys learning about the English Kings and Queens. She also enjoys Revolutionary War American history.

    I have a 7, 8, and 12 year old. We will be diving into the Ancients after our summer break. We LOVE to study this time period. I am excited as this will be our second time to study and my two youngest will be old enough to understand a lot more of the material than 4 years ago.
