Giveaway: $275 package from History Unboxed

//  by Jamie C. Martin

This giveaway has ended; thanks for your interest!

Welcome to today’s giveaway, brought to you by Elizabeth of History Unboxed:

“When I started homeschooling my own children ten years ago, I decided that if I managed to instill in them a life-long love of learning, then I would consider the whole experience a success.

Over the years, the lessons that my students have found the most meaningful and memorable are the ones where many of their senses are engaged and where the material is presented in an emotionally relatable way.

History in particular is a subject that educators so often find overwhelming. Although Pinterest and blogs abound with creative ideas, let’s face it: life is busy.

As home educators we don’t always have time to source and assemble hands-on lessons.

historyunboxed2

At History Unboxed, we want to help you! We see history as an exciting and riveting narrative: you and your child can have fun with it!

The adventure begins when you sign up for a subscription through our website. We have two options: One for ages 5-9 and one for ages 10-15.

The following month your child will receive a welcome box from our brother and sister duo Zane and Ava. The pair magically travel through time in the ancient world, and their adventures will present the time period to your child through the activities in the box.

Each month will feature a different time and place–history with hands on crafts, activities, and art all organized for you so all you have to do is open the box and start learning.

In addition to your monthly box, each month we post lots of ideas, links to videos, and books for you to browse on our Facebook, Twitter, email list, and Pinterest pages. Follow along with us and let us organize great resources, many of them free!

History Unboxed can be used as a stand alone curriculum or in harmony with your existing history resource of choice.

We hope that we can make your time teaching history an enjoyable, stress free, memorable experience for you and your child. Come discover History in a new way: History Unboxed!

    My daughter will turn 7 this summer and she loves learning about American History.

    Our kids are 10, 7.5, almost 5, 3, and newborn. We love reading history stories aloud together, as well as fieldtrips. It is hard to pick a favorite time period…american history works well for some excellent fiction and local living history and the kids are drawn there, but there is something spectacular about reading aloud from the Iliad. I have a big soft spot for ancient Greece.

    Well, we have 13 children, ages 2 to 22, but my “middle kids” – ages 9, 11, 13, 14 – are working their way through America The Beautiful by Notgrass. This has been our favorite history program ever! We are just finishing up the Civil War period, one of my personal favorites. Brady was a great read-aloud!
