Welcome to today’s giveaway, brought to you by Elizabeth of History Unboxed:
“When I started homeschooling my own children ten years ago, I decided that if I managed to instill in them a life-long love of learning, then I would consider the whole experience a success.
Over the years, the lessons that my students have found the most meaningful and memorable are the ones where many of their senses are engaged and where the material is presented in an emotionally relatable way.
History in particular is a subject that educators so often find overwhelming. Although Pinterest and blogs abound with creative ideas, let’s face it: life is busy.
As home educators we don’t always have time to source and assemble hands-on lessons.
At History Unboxed, we want to help you! We see history as an exciting and riveting narrative: you and your child can have fun with it!
The adventure begins when you sign up for a subscription through our website. We have two options: One for ages 5-9 and one for ages 10-15.
The following month your child will receive a welcome box from our brother and sister duo Zane and Ava. The pair magically travel through time in the ancient world, and their adventures will present the time period to your child through the activities in the box.
Each month will feature a different time and place–history with hands on crafts, activities, and art all organized for you so all you have to do is open the box and start learning.
In addition to your monthly box, each month we post lots of ideas, links to videos, and books for you to browse on our Facebook, Twitter, email list, and Pinterest pages. Follow along with us and let us organize great resources, many of them free!
History Unboxed can be used as a stand alone curriculum or in harmony with your existing history resource of choice.
We hope that we can make your time teaching history an enjoyable, stress free, memorable experience for you and your child. Come discover History in a new way: History Unboxed!
Today one lucky Simple Homeschool reader will win the following $275 package:
A year’s subscription to History Unboxed! The month following this giveaway the lucky winner will receive a welcome kit with introductory materials and crafts.
After that History Unboxed will send one box a month that will enable their student to experience 11 different locations in the ancient world in a hands-on, fun, and memorable way.

The important influence of the not-parents.
My daughter will turn 7 this summer and she loves learning about American History.
Our kids are 10, 7.5, almost 5, 3, and newborn. We love reading history stories aloud together, as well as fieldtrips. It is hard to pick a favorite time period…american history works well for some excellent fiction and local living history and the kids are drawn there, but there is something spectacular about reading aloud from the Iliad. I have a big soft spot for ancient Greece.
Mine are 9, 7, and 3. We are excited to start studying the history of the United States in the fall.
Three girls, ages 6, 4, and 21 months. I’ve never heard of this company, but it sounds very promising! Thanks for the introduction.
My kids are 7 and 11. We really enjoy studying American History, especially the Revolutionary War and the Civil War.
My three are soon having birthdays and will be 5,5, and 7. I love all kind of history and sharing it with them. In particular our local South Dakota history and Ancient Greece and Norse history.
My kids are 9 and 11 and history is by far our favorite subject! We especially enjoyed our Viking study this year. I have like both sites on Facebook as well.
I have 8,7,4,2, and 10 mo.
We haven’t studied much history together, though we’d really like to start. This looks like a great way to get us motivated and inspired.
My kids are 5, 7, and 10. Our fave time period right now is early American history. Thank u for the cool giveaway 🙂
11… Ancient Egypt or Greece
Sounds like the history I want to learn! I am excited to try the box!
Liked both sites.
We have a 4 year old and love all things ancient.
My kids are 7 and 9. We are studying Vikings, but Ancient Greece is my daughter’s favorite time period.
I “Liked” both sites.
Well, we have 13 children, ages 2 to 22, but my “middle kids” – ages 9, 11, 13, 14 – are working their way through America The Beautiful by Notgrass. This has been our favorite history program ever! We are just finishing up the Civil War period, one of my personal favorites. Brady was a great read-aloud!
I liked both on FB.
My boys are 4 and 5. We love ancient Egypt!!
Plus, I Liked both “Unboxed History” and “Simple Homeschool” on Facebook.
My girls are 9, 5 & 3, and we love to read about pioneer times! 🙂
My boys are both 12!

My youngest three are 15, 13 and 10.
I have a special love for ancient Egypt…..

My kids are 13, 11, and 5 and we’ve always loved studying the American Revolution and the pioneers of America.
