They inspire children to play, to marvel, to laugh and to be kind.

“If you are looking for a wonderful way to keep kids engaged during holiday travel, I can attest that Sparkle Stories do the trick!

Whether it’s Martin and Sylvia (about homeschooled siblings), Junkyard Tales or The Willowbee Tree (a newer favorite this year!), or great Audio Books for longer trips like How to be Super, children and adults will be entertained and delighted by these wonderful seasonal stories that help families to slow down during this otherwise busy time of year.

And Sparkle Sleepytime is THE BEST for helping kids to fall asleep peacefully, even when away from home.”

This is SO exciting! My little man is 3 years old and loves audio books. Well, he loves Magic Tree House audio books. I’m pretty sure he would enjoy Martin and Sylvia as well. I’ve grabbed a few of the free ones and I know I enjoy them.

I’ve found audio books are great for when Little Man wants to be entertained and read to, but I’m, for some reason, not available. And they are just fun! We listen to audio books and radio drama while he jumps on the trampoline (inside) and I get some kitchen work done (or drink my coffee).

3 blessings that need to digest these audio stories to remember to slow down and focus on the reason for the season – gratitude, love, charity, and thanks….

    And thanks!

My kids are 5, 3, 2, and 5 months. They had a great imagination and enjoy listening to stories. They would prefer a good story over music any day. I have been wanting to try sparkle stories and just haven’t been sure that I want to spend money on something I have no experience with. This could be just what we need to get started. Also it would be great to add to our Christmas.

We are living overseas in the UK this year and for the first time in four years our kids (7, 5 and 3) won’t be around grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins in Australia for Christmas. Sparkle stories would help us make the Christmas season this year a special time in other ways, as we will all feel the loss of our family. I hope that Sparkle stories will help us build good memories of Christmas this year.

My children are 3, 6 & 9. We are a six hour drive from Grandparents and audio books help pass the time as we travel for Thanksgiving (and other times) to see them. Sparkle stories would be a wonderful set to listen to this year! Thank you for the offer!

    November 18, 2014 at 11:08 am

My children are 7and 4, and we will be undertaking several multi-hour drives over the holidays. We all love Martin and Sylvia and are ready for some new stories! I love how the stories illustrate the joys of simple pleasures in life: making friends with tourists in their own town; taking little day-long adventures with Daddy; playing pick-up baseball with friends (rather than signing up for the stress of a paid Little League team or similar), etc. The values of Martin and Sylvia’s family align well with our own, and I deeply appreciate having these gentle and loving – but still exciting – stories for my children to listen to. It’s a welcome respite from the general attitude of the mainstream culture around us. We would so enjoy having some holiday Sparkle Stories to help set and maintain the beautiful and loving mood that I want the family to experience over the next 6 weeks.

Hi! Thanks so much for this generous giveaway! We LOVE Sparkle Stories around here! My kids are 6, 4, 2, and 6 months. We have a subscription to the free podcasts, and listen to them at meals, during “quiet time”, and my 4 year-old son listens to them at night when he is afraid. We will have lots of family staying with us through the holidays this year, including a lot of little cousins. I would love to have some new Sparkle Stories to share with them, instead of plunking the kids down to watch a movie. Little secret: I also listen to them when I have trouble falling asleep, David’s voice is so soothing and peaceful, it works like a charm. 🙂 Thanks for all you do, I have found this blog to be so inspirational and peace-giving!

My children are 8, 10, 13, 14. We would use these over the holiday season when we move. We are moving and these would be great ways for them to escape the stresses of moving and not knowing where all their stuff is. It takes a while to set up ‘home’ and unpack, audio books would be a great escape and bonding time for our family while we go with tv, Internet, and all those brain-sucking ‘must haves’ nowadays.

The Martin and Sylvia Advent Calendar stories were a big hit with my two younger ones last year and they listened to them over and over even into January. Our children are aged 5 and 8 and love story time. I have looked at Sparkle stories a few times but am unsure what my children would like. Christmas holidays in NZ are long and hot, often in the evenings the kids are way over tired (and the parents too) a good story read by someone else, about children like themselves or animals would be calming…and something to build on that’s not Enid Blyton who my kids love.

I have three girls: 6, 4 and 2. Sparkle stories are a lifesaver all year long – Friday is their favorite day (because the new stories in their subscription arrive!). They are especially helpful during the holiday season because on top of providing me with fight-free time during dinner prep time (especially challenging during winter when we don’t always get outside), they provide a wonderful way to keep the true meaning of the holidays in perspective in a way they understand. And, my husband and I both love to listen WITH the girls! I cannot imagine bedtime, dinner prep time or travel time without sparkle stories! Thank you so much for your amazing work.

Oh yay…open internationally! Here in New Zealand we have a summer Christmas so we often stretch out our family roadtrips to other family for Christmas Day to encompass a few days by ourselves. Hot pools, a stop by Lake Taupo, a deep breath. Sparkle stories always come in handy on the long car journey. We homeschool, and my son, who is seven will often have a restful period in the day listening to stories, drawing and building while I work. xx

We live from 30-60 minutes from all friends and family and spend a lot of time in the car. We haven’t tried audio books with our daughter yet, but if her insistence on reading for 2 hours each day is any clue than I think she would like them! 🙂 Might be the perfect solution for making car rides a bit more enjoyable on those rough days.
