Teaching Kids to Bake – The Whys and Hows
My kids are 10, 8 and 6- we have been taking art classes through a local children’s art studio for 3 years.
My boys are 7, 5 and 1. We have nit done any formal art lessons yet. This sounds great!!
Yay! My children are twelve and ten. We’ve used the book “Drawing with Children” for art instruction but that’s about it!
My daughter is 4 1/2 and we’re in Classical Conversations. She has gotten art introduced there, and she loves it! She comes home and replicates what we learned in class. I think she’d really enjoy this!

My kids are 2 and 8. I’m an after-schooler not a home-schooler. Art is an area that my 8 year old excels at and I’m constantly trying to find curriculum for her. Art classes in town are pretty expensive and with going to school it puts a strain on her time and mine. But this sounds great! She could just pop in the video once a week in the comfort of our own living room!

My kids are 2 and 3. We have not yet done anything formal, but I’m not a creative person at all (my strengths are in reading and math, weakness is definitely art and anything else creative) so I’d be excited to get reliable and fun help in this area.

I have a middle schooler and we don’t do much art because I am art challenged. But, my daughter would love to do art. such a great give away. thank you!!!
My children are 10&7. We have researched the Master artists, but haven’t had formal instruction. My daughter loves art. She is most interested in landscapes, and so far her favorite medium is oil paints.

I have 2 daughters who are very artistically inclined. I had no idea something like this existed. Looks like a dream come true.
My “homeschoolers” are almost 4 and almost 2, and I put it in quotes because we’re really just playing and being creative right now. I have been using the God’s Little Explorers Curriculum, which doesn’t have much in the way of formal art instruction, but is fairly heavy on the arts and crafts, and they have both been loving the chance to color, paint, and make things. This would be a fantastic resource for their elementary years!

We have been doing the kindergarten dvd for this series and LOVE IT! My girls are very much into art, and this helps me to expand their knowledge and abilities (beyond painting…) It is a fabulous resource!

My boys are on the latter part of 3 and 1. I was an art major in college so I love the idea of being able to introduce art to them. We have not done any formal art yet.
My kids at home are 8, 6, 6, 4, and 10m. Every now and then I get brave enough to get out the tempera paint, but that’s as far as we’ve gotten.
We have the following grades: 17, 15, 11, and 9. We have not done a formalized art program. This program sounds great. Happy Thanksgiving.

My daughter is 10, and, my son is almost 5 (the closer is gets, the longer it seems!).
My daughter has a few learning disabilities that have delayed her ability to read and write, but she loves to draw, color, scetch, paint. Art gives her a way to tell her stories that writing isn’t able to, yet. She has taken a couple of one day art classes. Her brother is still learning to hold the pencil…. God is taking His time revealing our little boy’s special skills, but he sure does love art day.

My kids are 4 1/2 and 2 1/2. Nothing formal, but my daughter LOVES art and is always asking to do an art project. I’ve been researching lots of curriculum but never thought about doing formal art instruction. So fun!

My son is 6 and we haven’t done any formal art lessons. We love writing and drawing fancy letters either with pencils or making them with Legos. We can definitely use a variety of other types of art lessons, tho.
I now “like” Home Art Studio. I have been a fan of Simple home School for a long time. Without it, I would have run naked and screaming into the woods a long time ago, and I live urban.

that looks so good! we haven’t done much formal art stuff this year (in aus – nearly at the end! my daughter is 7) but we’re doing some stuff about stained glass windows at the moment, which has been fun (we have jelly in the fridge to do stained glass jelly tomorrow! (jello, sorry!))

We’re still not sure if we want to homeschool our children or not, actually. My wife is going to start a homeschool preschool for our oldest next year with a curriculum of some sort, however.

Our girls are 6 and 3 years old and we haven’t done anything formal per se – just try to expose them to as many different types of media as possible (different paints, oil and chalk pastels, watercolour, etc) and let them explore. We watch art history lessons from Khan academy and visit galleries to see how others have been creative too!

I do a weekly art lesson with my almost 7 year old homeschooler and a 11 year old friend. We use the Drawing with Children by Mon Brookes method and it is the girls Favorite time of the week.

Hi, I have a 12, 3.5, and 2 yo. No formal art lessons yet…we paint and draw at home.
My kids are 10, 7, and 1. We haven’t done any formal art instruction at home, only through art lessons with a local teacher.

We love the Home Arts DVD program! My kids are 10, 7 and 5. We have completed the k, 2 and 4th grade DVD. I have never been disappointed with the teaching or quality of products. I tell everyone to buy these. I am actually piloting a program at our coop this year where my kids will present all they did through HomeArts this year and then next year other kids in te school will be doing tr program. Can’t recommend it more highly. Plus my kids love it!!!
We have a 12 year old and 6 yr old boys and this is our first year homeschooling, so we have not done any formal art teaching.
My kids are 4 and 6, and they have never had formal art lessons outside the home. I love art, so I do little projects with them. We mostly have used and loved Usborne books. They have a great art series. Would love to try these out!

This program looks great. I have a 2 year old who I am considering homeschooling. We haven’t started any formal art education yet, but he does his “activities” every day and loves it – watercolors, playdough and pipecleaners. I also have a 9 year old stepdaughter who is with us part time, but would love to do more art projects, too.

All my kids are elementary age and we have only done informal art. We would love these DVDs!
This is such a great idea…and what a wonderful gift for families who might like to have a little extra support! We live in NYC, and so without a backyard, our table is really our big place space and setting up arts and crafts is kind of a daily activity. My boys are almost 3 and 6! I dont give my oldest an allowance, but has helped turn his art into greeting cards that I help him sell outside our building on 57th Street! This has been such a fantastic project for him, and has given him confidence and independence….and I no longer deal with any whining about buying toys. When he finds something he likes, I say gee how many cards would that be to sell? and he does the math…and then usually I can just take a picture of it and say “when you sell the cards it takes to buy this we can remember it and come back!” this has worked like a charm!!!!
My children are 2&5. My 2 yr old is not schooling yet. I do art once a week with my 5 yr old. We use a book with projects grouped by art elements. It isn’t very comprehensive.

My kids are 9, 6, and 4. The kids are very into art, as is my husband, so we have always incorporated it into our homeschooling. We have been using http://www.deepspacesparkle.com/ to be a little more formal than just our crafting projects. We have a local art museum that they love. We also have lots of sculptures and stuff in our area that they like to look at…it’s great for them to see that many different things are art, rather than just a drawing or painting.

My daughter is 8 years old. She loves loves loves art and art appreciation. We use the online version of Meet the Masters throughout the school year.
My 5 children are 12 through 23, and we have done precious little formal art instruction in our homeschool. Fortunately years ago, our homeschool coop filled in the gaps with group classes and hosting summer art camps with Mark Kistler; so my kids learned to love to “draw, draw, draw.” My hope would be to use a program like this with my homeschooled granddaughter.

My 11 year old would love this! We started an art co-op a couple of years ago with a few other families, sadly, due to conflicting schedules were unable to do it this year, so I have been looking for a replacement that is easy to implement.

I have started homeschooling only a few weeks ago, and a big reason for that is that my 5 ( almost 6) year old daughter loves arts and crafts! She learns best by doing, and she wasn’t doing any art at school.
I try to search the internet for ideas, but having a complete set would certainly be a help! I also have a 2.5 year old son and operate a small natural home child care program from my home!

My oldest son loves art, he is always coloring , painting, and asking me to so something creative with pain or play do. I have 5 kids ages 9,7,5, and 4 (twins) the three older kids are taking a drawing animals class and they love it, we have an area dedicated to art projects in our dining room. We also work in our sketchbooks almost daily, even the 4 year olds. We are prolific artists and love to create artwork for our home. My oldest son loves drawing animals and then making them look robotic. My only daughter is left handed and thrives with art of all types, it is the way she learns best.
We love art! My son and husband both love drawing; I make stick figures look bad. We’ve not done any kind of formal lessons, as we’re just really starting since my son is 5. I would love to be able to teach him art!

We do a fair number of crafts but have not worked on a specific technique or style yet. We have read a number of large format books about classic artists, which my son has enjoyed a great deal.

I have a 9 yo daughter who is in cyberschool. Their art program is lame so I would love to have something better to add in. She loves art projects. I also have a 5 yo son, who loves projects too. He is homeschooled, but we haven’t used an art curriculum. This program looks great!
My boys are five and two, my daughter four months, and my oldest would LOVE to have this set. He loves to draw and sits and creates the craziest things, just from memory. Im amazed all the time at the clarity with which he can duplicate an image he saw once. My favorite was the turkey he drew last week and named ‘Soop’ (written above his head). It was quite amusing. 🙂

Our children are 3, 6, & 12. We have used draw write now, drawing with children and currently have the 1st grade DVD of your program & LOVE it!!! Homeartstudio has been a lot of fun for all three of our kids (and for me!). It has inspired us to engage in more art on a regular basis and gives the kids an opportunity to be creative & feel confident about it!! 🙂

I have 3 kids! 7, 4, and 1….my 7 yr old is unbelievable! He truly is one talented artist…he doesn’t get that from me, that’s for sure. I can only draw stick people (barely) . I have not found an art program to use with him yet 🙁 I am eager and anxious to get him involved with a program that will help him with his craft!

2 kids – 8 years old and 3-1/2 years old. This is our first year homeschooling. We have not incorporated formal art into our schedule yet. My son had negative feedback in public school so his confidence is shattered in that area. We are slowly going to add art so that he can regain his confidence and know that speed is not as importants as trying something new and doing his best. I have one daughter who is 3 and a half and another baby girl on the way in March. I have not done much art with my little one yet, but we will be starting all of our curriculum in January or February. The only thing I know about her artistic abilities so far are that she likes to paint and use scissors. 🙂

I have a 6 year old and a 3 year old who both love art. We do art every day with all the various crafting supplies around the house and for project models, etc. The only ‘formal’ art education we may have done is visiting the local art museum for talks for kids and then coming home and trying to mimic the style of some of the paintings. I have a 3yr old girl and 8 yr old boy.What a great collection for kids. Creativity is what the kids need the most and this would definitely help my 3 yr old with little bit taste in arts and my son who doesn’t want to do arts because he thinks it is too hard. If the kids realize that it is fun ..I am sure every kid would love to have something like this…

Hi! My children are now 11, 9, 7, 4, and 2. My oldest has been able to attend an art/sketching class and she really took off with it. A couple of years ago we studied some famous artists. But I have drooled over the Home Art Studio the past couple years…wishing I could afford to add it to our home school. 🙂

We’ve got a 5 year old who looooved art! We’ve taken a trip to the art museum but that’s about it outside of typical kindergarten drawing, painting, doodling!

I have three kids ages 6, 4, and 19 months. My oldest loves to draw, paint, and do crafts. My middle is a squirrelly one who has not been interested in sitting down to do art (yet). We have not done any formal art instruction…just read through the “13 Artists Children Should Know” book, work through various craft books and kits we get as presents and check out how to draw books.

I am homeschooling a ten year old girl and a six year old boy. We have never used a formal art curriculum. My daughter enjoys making up her own art projects, especially drawing.
My kids are 13, 10, 6 and 20 months. They have formal art obstruction at our coop and take classes at our local museum , but I don’t teach art at home. I do supply the supplies so that creativity happens though!
My children are 17, 15, 11, and 6 years old. I have never done a formal art instruction at home. Instead, I have paid for art classes at various co ops and through the community. I would love to have a DVD series at home! This way we could do art together as a family and continue all year long.

my kids are 3,4,6,9…we have never had a formal art curriculum but desperately need one.
My children are 7 and 4. My oldest took lessons from our neighbor, who is a very good artist and is going to school for graphic design.
My kids are 6,4,2. The older ones have taken a private class with another homeschool mother who is an artist.
My children are 11, 9, 7, 5, 3 and 1. I have tried formal art instruction, but it always seemed too complicated or time-consuming. I am scared of crafts! And art, is my mind, is a big craft! We do get it once a week in our homeschooling co-op, but I would LOVE to win a set of these, and, obviously, with 6 children (#7 due in 3 months), we would get LOTS of use out of them! 🙂

My son is three and so far we’ve been exploring different mediums (paints, chalks, oils, etc.) and how each looks on a different canvas (cloth, paper, foil, etc.) and the tools we can use to apply them. Right now it’s all about engaging the senses!

My children are 7, 14,15, and I have a son with special needs who is also 15. I don’t know about “formal” but we do include art in our curriculum and we are always doing various crafts and art projects. We love art in all forms and think it is a very important part of our school and our lives.

My little loves are 3, 2 (next month), and baby #3 due in May. We are currently working on phonics and letter formation but nothing in the way of formal art. I plan to homeschool until graduation. This set looks quite awesome!

Oh my goodness…my daughter would LOOOOOVE these DVDs!! I am a proud homeschooling mama of a 7 year old who is in the second grade and a 5 year old who loves being a kindergarten! My name is Amal. My daughter is 7 and my sone is 3 1/2. My daughter colors using the block crayons non-stop. She had/ has language processing issues and art was and is her main form of expression. She is now doing wonderfully with her language after the last few years of her and I working tirelessly on it, and art has remained her passion. We watercolor together and draw from nature and she spends at least 2 hours coloring per day. I would LOVE an actual art curriculum to open her to more styles of art and different mediums.
My kids are 9, 7, 5, 3, and 1. My 9-year-old in particular is very artistic and really enjoys doing art projects. We’ve done a couple art lessons but haven’t been consistent.

I love art and it’s a MUST in my kids curriculum, it has a big place in my heart and I chose to do it as my schools electives. In saying that, a simple system like that would be wonderful as I could get in the art, with minimal effort or reading etc. it would help me feel more capable as it seems quite a simple program to put in place. My daughter loves art and crafts. She is 7 years old and we have been doing creative projects since she was 3 and had her wonderful ideas to explore. I already like (love)your page. the postings are so inspiring. there are a few homeschool theme type art classes but i have yet to enroll her the age was 7 to begin classes. we try to copy anything and everythings she see’s on the internet or pictured elsewhere. i will go ahead and like the Home Art Studio as well.!

My first grader has a true love of art and a real eye for it. I’ve had to have her show me how to draw things because I just don’t see it they way she does. One of the reasons I homeschool is because I don’t want her creativity to be squashed since many public schools offer very little if any art now. I’m the complete opposite of her and not very creative, so I’m always looking for ideas and way to help her along. I’ve also liked your facebook page!

I am Jamie been homeschooling 3 years my oldest skipped kinder and is in. 4th grade she turns 9 on 11/28/13 somehow despite to parents with zero art ability she loves art I buy doodle books have s paint day etc.. I now have my youngest started kinder this year she just turned 5
my 9yo daughter has had art instruction at a wonderful Montessori school. meanwhile, we have enjoyed the guidance of books for multimedia and textile work. we expect to be homeschooling next year.
We have done formal art. Only things I have found on Pinterest. My littles hares are 6 and 2. We have been homeschooling 2 years.
My Hannah age 7 would do art and projects all day. I work hard to have art often. Eli is 3 and he does art for about a minute. 🙂

My kids are four and two, and we’ve done little art work with them – we go to art exhibitions regularly, and sometimes take part in the activities for kids organised by the art gallery, but not much at home.

Wow! I have a 7,6,4 and 2 year old. I try to always use art at home but couldn’t afford “formal training” as much as I would love to offer that to my kids. While I do think I’m creative (I had four kids in five years you kind of have to be 😉 I don’t think I’m artistic so this would benefit everyone in learning , not just the kids!

They are 5, 3, 2, and 4 weeks. The most art we have done is a book of great art, and they are about as interested in it as me (read: not).

My daughter is struggling in second grade and I will be pulling her back out to homeschool for the unforeseeable future. I also have a son who will be starting kindergarten next year. I feel like art shouldn’t be an ‘extra’ it should be part of a child’s regular curriculum but I can’t even do a decent stick figure so how would I teach it?? I found this through all my research and have planned on using it but getting it in a give away would be even better!

I have a 9 and 7 year old who I homeschool. We also have a 6 month old who keeps us on our toes for sure;). Our 9 year old has autism and with that a lot of OT issues in which make it extremely hard to enjoy and succeed in art. We have therefore not done a lot of formal art studies. I have yet to find a program that will suit both my special needs child and my 7 year old. This is actually the first time I have seen this program and would love to try it out! I think it just might fit the bill;))

Girls 9, 9 and 7. We are doing See the Light Curriculum and love to read about famous Artists. The older girls also took a watercolor painting class last year. These look really good!

Children are 7,5,3 and 1. I have used Waldorf style curriculums (which are very creative and encourage art). I don’t currently use any art curriculum, but when I saw this one I thought I should start. We definitely miss art!

My daughter is 5- we do a lot of informal exploration of the elements of design- playing with lines and space, but so much of it is connected to my degree in fashion design, rather than art for arts sake! I’d love to find some awesome options that we can do together, and these videos sound great!

I have 4 girls, 10 year old twins, a 7 year old and a 6 year old. We pick projects from Pinterest sometimes and they all follow a Utube channel called “My Froggy Stuff,” where a lady demonstrates how to make crafts for your dolls from household and craft items. We used Abeka and have purchased their art books, however, it’s a lot of “cut out” and glue together crafts so I let them find their own projects which the never have a shortage of! I am not well versed in painting, drawing, or sculpting so these DVDs could help them and the other children in our homeschool group a lot!

My son is almost 3 and we’ve mostly done informal art classes. He has used paint, markers, pencils, and chalk. He learned to use scissors and glue recently too and we’ve glued rice to paper. He knows his colors and we’ve practiced mixing primary colors to make secondary as well! He loves creating so having more art ideas would be great.
My son is not yet old enough for kindergarten, but I am so art focused that these would be a wonderful curriculum for when he is old enough.

I liked both Facebook pages! And further to my desire to homeschool my children, I have done art with my daughter from a very early age! We love painting and drawing (light table), working with play-dough and many other mediums!! We love love love art, and I can’t wait to get my son more actively engaged in art exploration 🙂
My boys are young–4 and 6 years old. I have done a ton of art projects with them during the past few years but I recently had been looking for a more formal approach to teaching them art technique and language of art. After my research I had decided to try Drawing With Children by Mona Brooks but I have had quite a bit of difficulty using an art curriculum as I am not an artist and I am finding that I cannot complete the techniques in order to model them to my children. We do a lot of freestyle art and process art as well but I would eventually like to teach them more of the techniques. I hope to win this product. It looks like a really neat series!

My oldest son is 8 (and the baby is 8 months). At home, we’ve used Draw Write Now in the past but right now he is doing an out-of-the-home art class. It’s costly though, and I’ve actually been eyeing this DVD curriculum. It looks great!

2013 has been a year of challenges for our family. We lost our home due to reduced income and had to relocate to another state away from friends and our great homeschool community. My daughters, 7and 10, have watched as their father and I have gone our separate ways. My girls both love art but my 7 year old creates every single day. She is obsessed with paper, tape, scissors, glue, clay, wire, paint, foil, fabric or anything she can use to make something. She will find random things around the house to create with. A popsicle stick becomes a character, a mini box becomes an airplane with paper wings, a rock from the yard gets a face and becomes a guinea pig, sticks become dolls and all dolls and stuffies get a wardrobe from paper and fabric scraps. She paints and refurbishes her toys cars and after watching Dolphin Tale she began making dolphins with prosthetic tails. She makes her own paper doll sets, makes animals from tape and wire, creates accessories from clay for her dolls and animals and on and on. Our floor is always littered with paper trimmings, our table always has glue blobs and I can never find tape or staples because she exhausts our supply so often. I would love to see what she could do with some instruction, new ideas and materials but most of all, I think some joyful art therapy is in order for us this school year and this program could be just that. As another reader stated, thank you for blessing whoever gets this amazing gift.

I have a 4th/5th grade daughter. She draws for hours at a time. We have done Thomas Kincaid’s art course, and I keep her supplied with beautiful drawings to copy & study. We have a 12 yo, 11yo, and two 9 yo’s all adopted. It’s been a joy home schooling them. They have had some art instruction through our assistance program. However, my youngest two children are craving more art instruction. And honestly, as much as I would love to be an ‘artist’ I can barely draw a circle! =) Living in a rural area, it’s hard to make it into the city for extra art instruction (not that there are very many opportunities anyway.) This would be an awesome addition to our home school resources. I’d love to donate the younger grade copies (if I won the set) to our home school lending library. So, many more families could review and purchase additional copies for their own home use, as well. =) It isn’t easy to find good quality art programs geared to the home school family. I have three children ages 5, 4, and 2. We have not done any formal art education, but my children love exploring with art supplies. I don’t have an artist’s bone in my body, I am more a math person, so when it comes time to do formal art, it will definitely be challenging.

My children are 7 and 3 1/2. My seven year old daughter colors with block crayons constantly. She spends about 2 hours a day coloring and creating stories. She has language processing issues that were more severe when she was younger and art has been her greatest mode of expression. Even as she is doing much better with language art continues to be her primary mode of expression. We watercolor things from nature for our nature journals and she colors constantly. I have no art background so I would love to expose her to many types of art. This program would be wonderful. We actually tried the sample free lesson and she completed it and loved it.

i have two daughters one that is 4 and one that is 3. i am wanting to start homeschooling my girls. my 4 year old is following in her mommy’s foot steps and is very creative. so when i seen these videos and the great contest you have going. it seemed to good to be true. i love to be creative and my girls also love it. and these videos would be awesome to have with the great ideas they will offer for me and my kids can do together. i have done some arts and craft with my 4 year old. but this would greatly help me out.
My children are 7 and 9. We get together with 2 other families, twice a month, and we are studying famous artists, and creating a project to go along with each artist.

My kiddos are 11months, 3, 5 & 7. My 7 year old got a library book on on drawing knights and castles. We started out doing it together and soon he surpassed me. His castle and knight drawing are on his wall. I really like the tinfoil sculpture idea and am going to show it to him next week!

Both kids learn differently, and for my daughter especially, art has become a very natural way to express their thoughts and feelings. We’ve been homeschooling for four years. I have a 10 year old and a 4 year old. The ten year old attends art classes once a week and the pre-k/k is dreaming of being able to do these sorts of things!
My children are age 5,7,9,and 10. I have never done a formal art program only some exposure famous artist and basic shapes, oils etc.
My son is 8 and we have not set a formal art class.

Our children are 10, 8, 7, and 5. We have been homeschooling for 5-6 years. We have used “God and the History of Art”, as part of a curriculum set, and I’ve been surprised to see how much they can do, even my youngest!
This is our first year homeschooling. My children are 6, 3 and 1. We have being doing a big animal project so our art so far has manly been drawing animals, sculpting with PlayDoh and occasionally painting or chalking animals.
We have done art in our homeschool, but it often gets dropped as it is one more thing to plan. This would be a great resource to do art more regularly!
My son is 5. I haven’t done any formal art lessons with him. We are just exploring some materials.
Three boys: 8, 6, and 3. The older two took an art class through a homeschool co-op last year and enjoyed it. Not much happening with hands-on art this year yet. Earlier this month we visited the art museum on their homeschool day.

I do teach art but usually in conjuction with other subjects or I am currently using Kiwi Crate (monthly service) for our art. Would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have this prize. I know my little artsy girls would gain so much from this homeschool art curriculum!

Our daughter is 5 (Kinder). Although she has taken after my creative interests, we haven’t done any formal lessons at this point. This post was great timing though, as only days ago I began thinking about pursuing a more formal art curriculum, later in Kinder or starting in First. I want one that will fill her with knowledge and inspiration for furthering her own creative sense (rather than teaching her what should and should not be done, and risk diminishing her creativity). My children are 11 and 2. My eldest daughter is currently taking a pottery class, but no formal art prior to this. Both of my children love art, and we spend a lot of time doing so. This art curriculum looks very structured. I like structure.

We’ve done a little with Artistic Pursuits, but the differences in the way my kids see things tend to result in very different experiences. The very different video approach is intriguing to me and may appeal more to the child who struggles more.
My kids are 7,9, 10, 12, 12- we actually are using one of these DVDs for out art curriculum- the kids love it and beg to do it when I have skipped a week! Would love to have this set!
My kids are 12, 11, 6, 5, & 3. The older two have done a couple different classes through our community center, and we’ve always done a Charlotte mason style of art appreciation and projects. This looks like something we could all enjoy doing together.

My 7 and 4 year-olds would love a more formal approach to our homeschool art, and so would I, as I think we would do more of it!
My twins are 4. They were born at 23 weeks and have grown into healthy little boys with only minor challenges. They are in Pre-K4 as special education so that they benefit from as much early education as they can now, to prepare them for Kindergarten next year. I am the artist of the family and would love to incorporate a program like this into their education. Thank you for the opportunity.

My oldest has inherited my natural artistic ability. As a child, I was naturally gifted with drawing and painting skills, but was never encouraged in it nor helped to grow that talent. My daughter spends hours on end drawing and coloring and creating. I need help in nurturing what is already there so a talent from God is not wasted.

My kids are 6 and 3- they are so creative and inventive, art is encouraged in our house, but tends to be more spur of the moment and instinctive…I would love to introduce a more focused, organized and planned style as well for them to consciously build a set of skills and concepts. I have 3 kids. A 7 year old , almost 5, and a 2 1/2 year old. I have not used any type of art instruction. I have let them create out of their own imagination but would love to teach them technique.

my child is 7. I have found that I am not as creative as I once thought I was so my child does her own art work but I would love for to be a little more educated in the arts.

This is one of the best things I’ve ever seen. I looked at it this summer at a local homeschool convention. I wished then I could have afforded it. We do art every day since my only child is such an arty kid. She simply learns better using art.
Regardless if I win it or not, I would encourage everyone who could afford this program to look into it and if possible purchase it. It really is as good as the reviews say.

Sorry I got SO excited I didn’t follow all the rules! I have a 9 year old, and we haven’t done “formal” art programming yet, but have been reading on Monet and trying our hand at his style.

Our boys are 6, 4, and 1. I am exposing them to art by looking at famous artworks in children’s books, but art creation is informal as desire pops up, which is often for my 4yo and not so much for my 6yo. I would love to have a little more structure (for me!) but definitely want to make sure it keeps the interest sparked.

Three of my four children are grown and on their own now. But my youngest is 14yo. She loves drawing and painting. She’s working on paintings as Christmas gifts for every member of our family. I’ve never been able to get her ‘formal’ instruction. She’s attended a free craft class here and there at our local library. Mostly she teaches herself through trial and error and looking things up on the internet and some art books I have.

I have a 15 and 10 year old. They both love art and arts and crafts projects. We’ve used a program that was included with the online courses we were taking at the time. We have also taken advantage of the art classes provided at our co-op. My girls practice on their own and often search for youtube videos for tutorials for any other technique or instruction they need. These would be great for all of us.

7 year old daughter loves art! Takes classes from a local educator and also does crafts with grandma. 5 year old son doesn’t enjoy art- it wastes his snack time and play time- he says. Though he does enjoy creating comic books.

Hello! Our 2 children are 5 and 3 years old. We have done some formal art lessons with our 5 year old, but they were done using different youtube video art lessons that were age appropriate. She loves that so when I saw your dvd’s I knew that they would be a wonderful addition to our homeschool lessons.

I have a 8 and 5 year old daughters and 16 month boy. I was doing virtual homeschooling and they provided and art subject which was very boring. Now I do homeschooling on my own and honestly I don’t do much art because I’m not good at it since I went on my own. 🙂

Hi! My oldest is 5, my second is 3, and my youngest is 18 months old. They all love art. They like to draw, color, paint and create puppets. We will be doing Artistic Pursuits K-3Book 1beginning in January. Would love to give these a try though!

We homeschool our 5 children…10 year old twin girls…the boys are 7, 5, and 2 .
No formal art classes, but we love art and do as much as possible. Would LOVE to win this!

My kids are 7, 4, and 1. I do try to do art instruction with them- finding stuff online and using books from the library.
My children are 10, 8, 7, 4, 3, 2 and 1. We have had no formal art classes,!
1 year old and a 5 year old that we will start homeschooling next year.
We do learning to draw workbooks and try to incorporate art projects.
This would be great for my five little kiddos. I homeschool my 7 year old, 5 year old and play with my three 2 year olds.

Love art! 1 6 year old child homeschool currently using a variety of books but mostly free art time. 1 1 yr old using crayons.
My daughters are 10 and 15. My older daughter is an amazing artist although she’s had no formal instruction. My younger child would like to learn to be more creative in this way.

My daughter is 4.5 and loves crafts. I have not started formal art education largely to the fact that I am not versed it in myself. She know color mixing but not the proper terminology or why the primary’s make the secondary. This would bd an amazing tool for my family. Thank you for all the resources you provide for us :
