Weekend giveaway: Sparkle Stories

June 14, 2013 //  by Jamie C. Martin

sparkle stories

This giveaway has ended. Thanks for entering!

Welcome to another weekend giveaway–sponsored by Sparkle Stories!

It’s been a few years since our family first heard of Sparkle, and even though my kids are now 8, 9, and 10, these audio stories still feature prominently in our lives.

Car rides, calming down before bed, and even breakfasts when the mama is too tired to read-aloud–all times in our day when these stories keep us happy and sane at home.

Here’s an overview about this resource that has added so much to our family’s life:

“Sparkle Stories produces original audio stories for children.  We’re a small company — we’ve been producing original stories for two years now, and have been growing at a steady pace since then.

We saw a need for children’s media that is simple, delightful and filled with a sense of wonder — stories that would inspire children to play, to marvel, to laugh, to be kind. So we created it.

Our stories are age-appropriate, they model healthy relationships and values, and they are really engaging and fun (and funny as can be).

We have eight original Story Series, and a ninth that features classic tales and verses–all of which follow the seasons of the year.

Families can subscribe and hear fresh stories each week, or they can try our single-purchase stories — with easy downloads right off the Sparkle site.  We also have story packages for travel, story packages to give as gifts, and stories for all ages!”

Introducing a new storyline series: Sparkle Sleepytime

bedtime final

“Whether it is during the long, active days of summer or the shorter, busy days of winter, sometimes our little ones need some help to slow down. The stories in Sparkle Sleepytime are simple, soft and slow, all told with the aim of welcoming young and old into a time of rest or sleep.

Each features a delightful young animal on a gentle adventure, and each ends with the animals snuggling into their burrows, nests or downy beds, ready to close their eyes and fall asleep.

This series is perfect for nap-times, quiet times and bedtimes – or any time you want a particularly quiet and soothing story for your little ones!”

Giveaway: The Sweet Summer Package! ($137 value)

This package includes:

  • 1 year of our Brand New Sparkle Sleepytime Subscription Series
  • all TWELVE of the Sparkle Car Series, for easy summer travels!

The family that wins the giveaway will enjoy stories to inspire quiet times, both at home and on family travels!  Lots to listen to over the summer! (Or winter if it’s a southern hemisphere family.)

This includes one whole year of stories from the new Sparkle Sleepytime Subscription Series!

sparkle car copy

In addition, all TWELVE of the Sparkle Car Series — to entertain and inspire the family during travel times! These are hour-long collections of original stories mixed with traveling verses, songs and fun car games. We know excellent audio stories can make family travel times fun (and so much easier).

My kids are 6 and 7 and their favorite thing to do in the car is listen to stories! I think they would love these in the car and during an afternoon break from these hot summer days! Thanks!

My children are 5, 4, 3, 1 (with another due at Christmas!). Because it stays so light during the summer months, my children love to listen to stories as they fall asleep at night. It is one way we can settle them at a reasonable hour (even though they still want to be outside playing!), and at least they are quiet and calm until they are able to fall asleep! Love books in the car too though…

My girls are 5, 2 and a baby to be born any day now. I think they would enjoy listening to them anytime (especially since I may not read as much as usual in the first few weeks. They would also be good for road trips where they may be sleepy in the car on the way home.

My daughter, 9, has autism and we have a lot of issues with her going to and staying asleep. I think these would be great to try for bedtime! She loves listening to music and stories to help her get wound down to sleep. Plus we travel a lot in the summer so we try and listen to books or programs like Odyssey while driving. They would be a great addition!

My daughter will be 3 this summer. She is getting a new sibling in a few weeks and would make great use of the stories as early morning fun and nap time entertainment. She still loves listening to the jack o latern story from the fall. It’s so magical and just her speed.

My 3 little girls are 4, 2, and 8 months. My older two are loving audio books in the car and I would be thrilled to have Sparkle Stories for our road trip in a couple weeks. I’m pretty sure we would use these for our nap time and bedtime too : ).

Oh, we’d love to complete our Sparkle Car collection! And we’re SO excited about the new sleepytime stories–as much as we love Martin and Sylvia, we have had to ban them at bedtime, because our daughter loves them so much she’d stay up all night listening! She is 4, and goes to sleep to sparkle stories, as well as listening to them during quiet play times. And we go to visit her grandmother each week, and listen in the car on the way. Thanks for the chance to win!

My kids are 14, 10, 8, 6, 4, and 1. The 8, 6, and 4 year olds would especially love listening to these stories. I imagine the best time to listen would be on our rides home from the bigger kids’ baseball games this summer, when the little ones have played hard all day, and we are getting a bit past ideal bedtimes.

My kids love listening to anything in the car and I can really envision using these stories as a wind down before quiet times and bedtime instead of a “tv show”. Some of my fondest memories of being a child are of listening to stories as I fell asleep at night.

    Hello,
I have been an avid reader for my children ever since they were born… Kata now is 8, Hunor will soon turn 6, and baby Magor is only 11 months old…
I have been reading to them in two languages on a regular base – English and Hungarian – and we really “devour” any kind of material we get our hands on… I believe Sparkle Stories carry a dear thought to every child, no matter how old he/she might be… and maybe a smile or two for us, mothers as well…

This is why I think anybody would deserve to get this “gift”!!!

    Fondly,

Im hoping to incorporate these stories into our weekly homeschool routine as a listenng comprehension activity. We would love to be able to listen to the sleepy time series too during our quiet time each day on days when I’m too exhausted for reading aloud myself. 🙂

My children are 11, 4 and 5 months. They just really enjoy being read to any point throughout the day. I think these stories could be a special treat to use together right before bedtime and the car stories would be great for the stay-cations that we have planned for this summer.

These stories sound lovely! I have three children ages 10, 6. & 4. We have a long trip from GA to NY planned for the summer and this would make the trip much more fun! Also, my children enjoy audio books very much, but it isn’t always easy to find something for them to listen to together.

I have three kiddos – 5, 2, & 1 month. I’ve been looking for more audiobooks for my eldest to listen to during quiet time. We also have some big road trips to take during the summer. I’ll definitely be checking out some of these sparkle books.

I have one girl, who is 7.5 years old. I love summer because our rhythm gets shifted into a different, more easier going gear and sparkle stories are a fun uplifting part of that. I think my daughter and I (because I LOVE listening to them) would listen to these stories as a wonderful transition to the evening. After being out in the hot sun and moving through the day, a simple loving story helps make that transition to the quiet time of evening. I also think these stories help for needed restorative restful times. The car stories will bring a lot of sparkle to some family road trip/camping trips we have planned! Thanks for the chance to win!

My son is almost 2 1/2. I think he would love to listen to these stories in the late afternoon–that challenging time before dad gets home and when I need to start getting dinner ready. We have a couple song/book combos that he loves and listens to at this time, but I think he would really love some stories to listen to. Thanks for the opportunity! 🙂

My kids are 2 and 4. They both love story time, especially in the late morning and right before bed. It would be great to use Sparkle Stories for those times I can’t read to my children. I work away from home during the afternoon right through the last half-hour before bed. This would be a wonderful way to help them wind down (and make the job easier for my husband) until I get home.
