    Our troops are 12, 9 & 5.

    We have been enjoying Sparkle Stories very much in our home. Sometimes, bedtime can get a little tricky with 5 young kids when my husband isn’t home. These stories are lovely and make the night time transition calm and quick!

    We’ve just finished reading Patricia St Johns’ “Treasures of the Snow” which they absolutely loved. We also come back regularly to “The Gift of the Magi” though as well.

    My kids are 4, 7 and 9 and love the Sparkle stories that they have heard. As far as favourite Christmas stories go… My 4 year old has a pop-up Surprise Santa book that she loves (and honestly, I love looking at the pop-ups too!) My 7 and 9 year olds really like Tolkein’s Letters from Father Christmas

    Hi Jamie,
    My kids are 6 & 9 and their fave holiday story is The Miracle of the First Pointsettia by Joanne Oppenheim, illustrated by Fabian Negrin, from Barefoot Books. There is so much magic and spirit in this book and the pictures are so very beautiful. They look forward to bringing it out with the decorations each December.

    Our boys are four and six. During the festive holiday season we read Christmas In The Forest by Jan Wahl. A lovely simple book written in the late sixties with beautifully detailed drawings. A holiday staple!

    My daughter is 8 and we just read “The Lion, the With, and the Wardrobe” She loved it! It’s a Christmas story of sorts—Narnia was in winter with no Christmas until Aslan returned!     My son, Jack is six… oh my goodness I mean seven! And Jude is three. Both decided The Grinch is their favorite holiday story 🙂 And then the Polar Express. We love stories over here.

    My boys are 5 and 8 and every year they love reading our advent storybook that follows a little Bear following the star to Bethlehem. Each day he meets a new character on his journey (animal or person) who reveals a bit more to him about the Christ Child.
