Anne
My kids are 14, 12, 11, 10, 7, 4, and 2. History is a compilation of all our individual stories; I ache for my children to get a sense of the wonder of all human beings through all time, to find their own place, to love their own stories, and to see that their own stories will affect the future.

My kids are 7, 3, and 1 and I want them to have a love of history because a knowledge of the past is so important when it comes to the future! I want them to be well read and aware of history so that the bad parts don’t repeat and they can take lessons from those who have gone before.
Nicole
My children are 9, 10 & 11. I have seen a love for history blossom in them this school year. I look forward to seeing that love grow.

My daughters are 5 & 2. History…the past…teaches us valuable lessons about ourselves. We can see social changes, human characteristics in regards to facing and resolving conflicts, innovation and industrialization. We learn patterns of religion of mental and spiritual growth. We can learn from the mistakes and the perserverence of our ancestors. History even gives us a glimpse into the future as it seems like things in life always come full circle.
Lydia Hostetler
My children are ages 14, 11, 10 and 5. They already have a love for history. I made sure they got it! I love history. We can always learn more..

My boys are 3 and 8. History repeats itself…and it’s their future so I want to give them a passion for history.
Lisa
My children are 5, 7 & 9. I want to give them the opportunity to develope a love and excitement about history that I never had in my education. I feel like I missed out on so much in my own conveyor belt education and I am determined that the same will not happen to my children!

My children are 3 and 5 so we are just starting homeschooling. My husband and I both have a love for history and we want to share that passion with our children. I have also liked Simple Homeschool and Thomas Jefferson Education on FB as well for additional entries. Thank you!!

We have three boys – 8.5 yrs, 6.5 yrs, and 3.5 yrs. As an adult I have a deeper appreciation for history and understanding how what happened in the past influences us today. I want our boys to also have that appreciation and understanding, but from an earlier age.
Julie W
I like both Simple Homeschool and Thomas Jefferson Education on FB.

I have a 13 year old. We are advocates of learning history and want our son to share in this. It is important to see where we have come from as a PERSON in your FAMILY in your COUNTRY and in the WORLD.
Mandy
Hi. My kids are 9 & 6 and I think history is SO important. How can we know where we are going if we don’t know where we come from?
Crystal Price
My children are 13, 12, & 9. I have been researching TJEd and have been wanting to try it out for some time now. I love that history is woven into every other subject. I want my children to learn more than facts about history but to truly understand the why about history. Learning and applying lessons from the past is essential in today’s world!
Jeannie
My girls are 7 and 2. I’d like them to have a passion for history because I think knowing how and why things happened in the past can help us understand how and why people respond to events and happenings in the present.
Kate O
My children are 6 and 7. I find history fascinating! I never really liked it much when I was in (public) school, but I love learning everything I can now as an adult. I want my children to enjoy it as well. So many things make more sense now that I know a little history. 🙂

My daughters are 20, 16, 14, and 11. I homeschool the three younger ones. However, all of them enjoy history. I think having this opportunity will enhance the other areas they aren’t so fond of such as math and science.
MORGAN
My daughter is 18 months. Our whole family loves history. I’m just starting to look into homeschooling.
Jennifer
What an amazing give-away. Looking forward to delving more into the material!

Our children are 6 and 4. We’ve been learning about Leadership Education and putting it into practice for the past few years thanks to your blog Jaimie. It fits right into our home. The belief that we are standing on the shoulders of giants resonates for us and why we would love this pkg.
Laura
My children are 7, 3 and 4 months. We love history because it is HIS story — I love learning right alongside with my 7 yr old as we read living books and can see God’s hand throughout the entirety of time. History is an amazing part of “school” and I’m so grateful to be able to teach my children through living books, keeping that spark alive and fed!
Lynn Y
my children are 3 and 6. I want them to be passionate about learning, passionate about asking questions and looking for answers. I want them to be constantly looking for new ways to do things and new ideas.
Lorianne Stogsdill
My children are 7, 4 and 2. My husband and I both love history, we live in Virginia where there is tons of history to be learned about, so we want our kids to love it as much as we do! I also love the idea of a classical education and TJed, and I plan on using that method next school year! This would be a perfect bundle for me!!
Lynn Y
I am already a fan of TJED on FB amd Simple Homeschool!

Thank you Jamie! My daughter is 11. Due to your recommendations, I’ve been interested in purchasing TJ for next year. I would like my daughter to have a passion for history because it gives us the greatest opportunity to feel grounded in our world based on how we got here. I find studying history chronologically gives us such a great perspective on where we are today. Studying the important people who have shaped history provides one of the best backdrops for learning about character and spirituality. Studying the sweeping epochs shows our human evolution (or sometimes our lack of evolution). I hope my daughter can feel confidence in herself and the future by understanding our past.
Tracey
My children are 8, 6 and 3 and I missed a lot of history when I was in school. I don’t want history to repeat itself–my or the world’s history!

Our children are 14, 12, 10, and 8 and they are all very interested in History. Living in the Historical Triangle in Virginia has opened their eyes to American History and we are so fortunate to have so much of it in our backyard. TJ Ed. would be a wonderful addition to our ever growing library of homeschool resources. Thank you so much for hosting such an amazing give-a-way.
Rebecca Reid
My kids are still young — age 6 and 2 — and I want to get them interested in history because there are so many life lessons to be learned from the past. I love the look of Thomas Jefferson education and am curious to learn yet more!
Jennifer P
A whole bunch of kids from 4 to age 16. History? You need to know where you’ve been to see where you are going! I have been shocked over the years how much I was NOT taught about history when I was in school.
Becca G
My kiddos are 5, 3, and 6 months. We’re just getting started! I think learning history is so, so important so that we can apply other’s experiences/mistakes to our current situations because, you know, “history repeats itself.”

I have kids ages 3-8! We love history here! I think history is so important because it is the foundation of where and who we are. I want my kids to know the backstory of the world so they can appreciate how far we come, and also use it as a tool to look forward to our future. This looks wonderful!

My oldest, almost 7, has taken a liking to history already. I am always looking for new curriculums for him that perpetuate this love of history.
Emily
My kids are 6 and 10. They already love history from our work with The Story of the World and other great books but another mom-tested resource sounds great. Thanks!
Jeanette
My children are 16,13,&4. We have had opportunity to view the drastic changes in today’s Common Core agenda to re-write History and it is alarming!! I believe it is vital to learn from history but if that history has been manipulated, as a country making progress will be hindered. It is also a blessing to know how our country was formed and the world for that matter, in a truthful way.
Thanks for all you do!
Katrina
My children range in age from 14 down to 2. History is very important because of the lessons it can teach us – both in the good and the bad – in the things that work and in the things that don’t. I want my children to be familiar with people who made a difference, and to be encouraged that people can and do change the course of history.
Katrina
I like both TJ Ed and Simple Homeschool on Facebook.

My children are 4 and 7 and they already enjoy hearing stories about historical events. I want their passion for history to grow because history teaches us so much about character, leadership and courage. Reminds me of the C.S. Lewis quote “Since it is so likely that children will encounter cruel enemies, let them at least have heard of brave knights and heroic courage.”
Annie
My kids are 6, 9, 11, and 13. We study history because it makes everything so much more interesting. If life is like a fugue and you can’t recognize the themes, then everything just sounds like a bunch of notes.

My children are 9, 7, 4, and 16 mos. I believe it is important to have a good grasp of history for the purpose of wisdom. What has been done in the past, whether good or bad, determines our future, teaches us valuable lessons, and urges us to make good decisions.

My children are 13, 11, and 8. I want them to learn about history because I really belive that if we do not learn from the past, we will repeat the mistakes of others. I’ve also always had a love of history and a fascination regarding the people who have gone before us.

My homeschooling children are 6, 9, 13, and 17. This quote from William McNeill sums it up for me, “the changing perspectives of historical understanding are the very best introduction we can have to the practical problems of real life”. I want history to be an integral part of my childrens lives so that they may use it’s applicable lessons in their futures. Plus, I was a history major in college and I love sharing my passion with them:)

I have 4-almost 5-year-old twins. History has always been a favorite subject of mine and I hope my children will think the same. The study of history, both the good and bad, is necessary in learning from mistakes that were made, but also to see the good that was done and learn from that.
Lee Urling
My children are 15, 12, 9, 6 and 18months. I would like to light the fire in my children and help them see how interesting History can be. There is so much to learn from the past and so many great men and women that we can admire and learn from.

Our boys are 6, 12, and 14. They have a love for history. We want our children to understand and learn from the victories and failures of others. The greater a foundation of wisdom we can give them, the greater the impact they will have on this world for God’s glory.

I want to support that fascination and use it to his advantage to learn other things such as reading and writing. What I don’t want is for it to get turned into forced memorization that kills the passion!

My children are 3, 6, and 9. I long to share with them the history of our world to inspire them to new possibilities, new greatness. To help them to learn that all things are possible with Christ who gives us strength – that there is grace for mistakes and hope for a future no matter the fall. I want them to learn through history that it’s good to take risks and stretch their faith. To learn from history that life is more than just their story but how the world can be impacted by the movement of one.

My daughter is 13 and my sons are 11, 9, and 7. I struggle with getting them excited about history so it has taken a back seat to other courses. As an adult, I now realize how important history is in our everyday lives. My hope is, for them, through history, they will understand the value of knowing that what is occurring today in our world is a direct result of the past. Your curriculum will aid in that endeavor!

My kids are 14, 8, 5, and 1. I’ve been really intrigued in TJE, especially for high school, which we’re starting in the fall! Understanding history is so important for the depth of understanding of our own time and place that comes only with knowing how the threads of time are woven into now. When you understand history you understand both that you are not the first or most important person, AND that one person with courage and faith can change the world.

I Want Them To Have A Passion For History, Cause Unless WeSpend Time In It We are Bound To Have History Repeat It’sSelf, And My Children Have TO much Genius In Them N I See Their Great Missions Ahead Of Them And How They Will Help With Revolutionizing Around Them And Impact The World That I Can’t Afford To Be Mediocre About It. I Have Had An InterestE In History Myself N Never WaS Encourages, Rather Discouraged From Following Learning,So I Guess I Am Living An Unfulfilled Dream Of Mine And Am Including Them In It Too. I Am Raising The Next Generation Of Leaders N I Want To Stand Before God And Be Able To Say “I Did My Personal Best!” That That Means A Lot Of Work On My Part But It’s Definitely Worth It!

My daughter is 10 and is the baby of 8 , all married now except her. Our home school journey is new, just 6 months, and I am looking for the next step to creating the best education for her. My son is 8. I want him to have a passion for history because it is what has made this world into the place he lives in today. History will help him to understand why things are how they are, and where we are going and what he can do to make things better for future generations.

My children are 7, 3, and 1. History is such a important part of education for my children however many think it is boring or outdated. I want my children to enjoy history and have a desire to travel to places where historical events happened. For them to know that history is a big part of who we are today and where we have come from.

12 yr. old son. My children are 13, 10 and 6. I would love for them to have a passion for history because there is so much to learn from it – what has worked for certain groups of people, how they lived off the land, how civilizations lived and learned and in some cases perished. There are just so many interesting stories and events! This would be an awesome package to win!

My children are 7,9 20. My goal is to give my children a passion for all learning in general. not just to give them a fil in the blank education. i want them to be life long learners with a passion for learning. Also I want them to have a passion for history because its our heritage and there is so much to be learned fom looking into the past.
Jenny Scott
My children are 12,11,11,10,8,7. I believe it’s important to teach them to love history because there is so much they can learn. To know what others have done to get us where we are now. They can learn from the good so we can focus on getting back to that. And learn from the not so good so we won’t repeat it. I am raising the next generation. What if they want to be in politics they need to know what has happened from then till now. I also want to make it real to them, not just reading about something that has happened but how did those actions of the few change everything. For them to realize that it only takes a few brave people to stand up.

My kids are 13, 11, and 6 and I could say something noble about how it’s important to understand our history so we don’t repeat our mistakes, but the more honest, though selfish, answer is that I want them to have a passion for it because it is one of my favorite subjects and it’s more fun to study together when we’re all excited about the topic.

My children are ages 9 and 12. They are already developing a passion for history because I am passionate about history. It tells us who we are, where we came from, and where we’re headed if we don’t learn lessons from our past. (For instance, we’re currently studying Hitler’s initial occupations of nearby countries and discussing similarities between it and the situation in Crimea today!) History has been our foundation for learning about the world – scientific discoveries, music, literature – so this resource sounds like the perfect fit for our family as we transition from the Love of Learning phase to the Scholar phase. (Yes, we’re already TJEd believers!) Thanks for introducing us to TJEd 4 years ago.

I have 6 children ranging in age from 28 to 15. I think it is vital for children to learn history and become part of it. Knowing the history of a nation, people, etc. creates and understanding that cannot come from any other way. Understanding why and how things come to be is helpful in future decision making. Learning who leaders are and why and how they led is vital in becoming a citizen. The list of why I want them to learn history is pretty much endless, and finding people who can help them have a passion for it is crucial as well. Reading “This Week in History” can help with that too I just realized…ah ha moment.

I have a 17, 14, 10 and 6 year old. It is so important for us to learn history in order to truly understand what is going on in the world, and to help us not to repeat mistakes of the past. I especially think it is important to study the founding fathers and how they truly meant for this country to be. If you do, you will realize how far we have strayed from that vision, and how our freedom is being taken away from us little by little. We can’t stop evils like what happened with Hitler, and Communism if we don’t truly understand what happened, and how the people in that time actually embraced these ideas as being their salvation. We are now seeing the encroachment of Socialism and Communism in America, and people are too ignorant and blind to see it, perhaps because they have not studied the past and learned from it. I want my children to be the exception, and to grow up armed with knowledge and values, so they may stand up for liberty, and values, and fight against the forces of evil that seek to destroy.
Olivia Ryan
My children are 11, 9, 2, and 3 months. History is important to our children so they may know the failures and triumphs of the past generations. Without such knowledge wisdom is lacking.

My son is 9 years old. History gives us the opportunity to see how people who have come before us think and how they lived. It shows us how we have overcome obstacles and tackled problems in the past. It teaches us ways we have changed and persevered over time. By looking at the past, it gives us ideas about how to move forward in the future, strength by seeing all that has been accomplished before us, and renewed hope for how great our tomorrow can be. We have the opportunity to learn from others mistakes in the past and to utilize what they learned so we may succeed in the future. Building a passion for history in our children can also build a passion for a brighter future.

I love history. My father loved history and literature and he was always telling me stories about our families history and world history. The way he would tell me made it come alive. My kids are, NB, 2, 4, and 6. My husband and I are both lawyers, but after graduating and passing the Bar Exam, I felt a strong calling to homeschool our kids. As lawyers, American history in particular is so important to us– I concentrated on the Constitution while in law school. I hope our kids will have a deep seated love of American history and jurisprudence, and will be as drawn to learning about and protecting the constitution as I have been 🙂 plus I’ve been wanting to learn more about TJed since I first heard about it recently!

I was excited to see this at the top of the page: Whatever you want to learn, whatever there is to teach, it starts with history… It’s kind of our family’s unwritten philosophy. My kids are 17, 13, 10, 7, 4. We took a break from homeschooling the last few years because we had some family tragedies and I was completely overwhelmed, but we are ready to jump back in this year. I had always felt like I couldn’t find a method that worked for our family that brought out the giftedness of each kid and encouraged a love of learning. I feel like history is something we can learn from, and that is what we are working on…..learning from OUR history , I am determined to find what will work for us and bring out a love of learning! History is amazing and although I didn’t learn alot about it when I was in school, I have loved learning about it along side of my kiddos and want them to value the hard work and sacrifice of those who came before us . I want them to see how it applies to their lives and that THEY can make a difference in this world by learning from the mistakes of others and standing for what is right!

Jaime, thanks for this wonderful opportunity! My kiddos are 8, 6, 4, 2, and 3 mos (he doesn’t study history yet 😉 ) History is one of my favorite things to study so I’ve always loved sharing it with my kids. I’ve been curious about TJEd. How long is the offer/coupon going to be valid for the $42 price? I want to read more about it and take my time, if possible.
History is important because it teaches us about ourselves and makes us feel part of a bigger picture. When we connect with the past, we can begin to see ourselves as part of the future and recognize our place in a vast continuum of humanity. And, obviously… we don’t want to make the same mistake THAT guy did! 🙂

My kids are 6 and 8 years old. I want them to learn about history because I think it is important for them to understand that people have not really changed over time and that their motivations are the same as ours. I think this is important because they will see that events in history can and will repeat themselves. It will also help them to understand people and give them a good background in human nature. All of this will give them the tools to not only get along with others, but to have a constructive voice in current social and political events for their entire lives.

Without history you have no knowledge of the Constitution or The Declaration of Independence and why those things are so important to the country we live in. What a great post! My chickadees are 3, 5 next month and 7 next month. We already love history because we have been using TJEd for a year and have enjoyed getting lost in historical classics. Connecting with history is central to our life because my husband and I want our children to understand that they are part of a wide and broad history of humanity. This moment in time is just that – a moment. By reading about pioneers and ancient Greeks and Old Testament heroes, we gain a richer appreciation for those things that are changeless in humanity and those things that bear the marks of being a created being. When we can relate to Caddie Woodlawn and Johnny Tremain and Esther, we can learn how to live well – as they did and how to live for something greater than ourselves.

I came across a TJEd education and had a light bulb moment!! My children love to hear stories and are fascinated by many of the children’s classics I’ve read to them. I want my children to love to learn and grow and I believe we need to know where we came from to do this.
Jen
I liked TJEd and had already liked simple Homeschool on FB!!
Stephanie
My kiddos are 9 and 13. I am struggling with helping them to enjoy learning more. This could really help!

I think it’s vital for my kids (13, 9, 6.5) to develop a passion for history because, imho, it is the best way to create informed humans and engaged citizens.
Julia
Also, I already “like” Simple Homeschool, and now I “like” Thomas Jefferson Education too.

My lovely children are 10,8,6,4,2. They submerge themselves in history given any chance. I would love to win this package because I would enjoy pulling a strand for a week from the weave of history. . .
Anne
My kids are six and three and have gotten hooked on Liberty’s Kids. This would be great for my budding history buffs!
Karen Briske
I have 6 kids; 22, 19, 18, 15, 11, and 9.
Children are the future and it is vital that they learn and understand their history. It is a duty to instill a passion for history so that children understand the greatness of past leaders on whose shoulders we stand today. We would also be lending credence to the monsters of generations past by allowing their atrocities to go forgotten, is tantamount to acquiescence. The words of George Santayana say it best “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
Karen Briske
I LIKED Thomas Jefferson Education and Simple Homeschool on Facebook.
Elisabeth
My kids are two and four and they love stories. I want they to have a passion for history so they can help make a better world for the future.
I already like simple homeschool on face book and am going to like Thomas Jefferson education now.
Rebecca
My children are ages 9months – 10 years old. My husband and I want to help cultivate a love for learning all subjects, but especially history b/c it is His Story (God’s) and so important for understanding the present and shaping a better future. Don’t want to repeat past mistakes, want to learn from those that have gone before us .
Rebecca
Also, liked both FB pages! thanks 🙂
Bethany
This sounds like a great way to get my 4, 2 and 6 month old excited about history as they become ready!
Angela
My boys are 4 and 8. I want them to have a passion for history as it is the foundation if our lives!

I also liked the Facebook pages of TJE and Simple Homeschool. Thank you!!!

My kids are 3-17. I want them to know and love history because we can learn so much from the character of some historical figures. They are great role models.
Kate
My kids are 4 & 1. As a public school teacher I always yearned to share my passions with my students and did so whenever curriculum and standards allowed it. It was very apparent that if I was passionate about something as their teacher/mentor, my love of learning became infectious. Now that I have kiddos of my own I’m ecstatic to share my passions with them, and history is one of them. I love what I’ve read about Thomas Jefferson Education so far and think it would be a great fit for our family as we start out on our homeschooling adventure. Thanks for a great giveaway! 🙂
Casey
I have a 12, 10 and almost two year old. History is very important in our homeschool because I’m a former public school history teacher! I would love to learn more about TJ Ed.

I have four kids ages 17, 15, 9, and 8. I have always loved history. It is the story of us, who we are, and where we came from! I want my children to have that same knowledge and passion. For the past few months I have taken up studying our family history and seeing how and where it ties into not only the founding of our great nation, but into the history of the world has opened not only my eyes, but the eyes of my children as well. These stories make history come alive and teach us powerful truths as well. An education without history as it’s backbone is woefully incomplete.

My children are ages 13, 8, 6, 5, 2 and 7 mo. I want them to have a passion for history because it is exciting, inspiring, and pulls all subjects together, allowing us to know why schooling matters!

Our children are 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 3 & 2. We took the older kids out of public school 5 years ago & have not regretted it one bit!! At times it has been a struggle because they each have different strengths, likes, & learning styles, but that is the beauty of programs like TJED! I would love to add this resource to our learning library. 🙂
Kyhiera
My son is 11. I’m happy to say he’s enjoyed history forever and I want this to continue. History shows us patterns in humanity and cultivates self-awareness. Thanks for the opportunity of this giveaway–i’ve liked both sites on FB!

History is so important to understand because it impacts where we are today. I would love to win this to supplement what we already use for history!

My children are 11, 9, 8 years old. My children are at an age of discovery, discovering themselves and the world we live in. I feel that history is the beginning point that can blossom into a lifelong desire to learn, explore and to make a difference in the world. I would love to win this package so that I can be an amazing mentor to my boys.
Melissa Wild
My children are 15, 13, and 11. I want them to have a passion for history as it is the story of God’s faithfulness, provision, mercy, justice, and providence!

This is a neat giveaway! I read a lil bit about TJEd a few months ago. Now I’m intrigued again. I have 4 kiddos aged 12, 11, 7 and 1. In order to know how to proceed on a healthy path in life we need to know what’s happened before us and how God was either welcomed in or set aside. We need to look back so we can move forward with confidence. I desire that for my children and myself, but get bogged down with all the details!
Julie
I’d like another entry! I just liked the Facebook pages. Thanks!
Amanda Mikula
I am reading A Thomas Jefferson Education right now. It is a very insightful book. I have read a few of Oliver DeMille’s books and I have enjoyed them all so far. My children are 5, 7 & 9. We enjoy homeschool immensely and I would love to use This Week in History next year.
Dana
My kids are 12, 10, 8, and 6. I’ve heard some folks call history, “HIS story”, as history really does show us God’s workings in the world. My hope for my kids as we study it together is that they will grab hold of this. I did not grow up loving the history I learned in public school, because it seemed boring to me as presented in textbooks and filmstrips, but now that I’m an adult and am homeschooling my kids, I know that it’s not only the content, but how it’s taught that makes such a huge difference.
Dana
Just liked both web pages on Facebook.

My daughter is 2. I believe history is the key to understanding how the world works so we know how to live in it

My sons are 5 and 3 but as we go through our presidents my oldest already asks who they are, what they did for our country, etc. How can we expect them to understand the present situations of the world if we don’t know where we came from. History is the ultimate story and ties it all together.
Jen Schulz
My kids are 11 and 12 – I want them to learn about the beginning of our nation, our founding fathers’ beliefs and vision for America, and how we can learn from the past to avoid making the same mistakes in the future.

Our children (all boys) are 15, 12, 10, 7, 3, and 1. I have loved everything I’ve learned thus far from TJed. When I look at how things are unfolding in our country, in our world and in our communities I wonder about our government and our citizens understanding of history. I want my children to know the decisions which have been made in the past by governments/people and the consequences for those decisions. Good or bad. There is so much for the next generation to offer this world as they lead with historical knowledge.
Kelli
I have a 5yo and a 2yo. I can’t imagine a better way to keep my kids connected to their education than history. It’s just fascinating–so HUMAN. I love this.

I am a homeschooling mother of 6 kids ages 13, 9, 7, 4, 3, and 2 months. I didn’t understand the importance and pleasure of studying history until we decided to homeschool our children. I want my children to have the power of that knowledge now and understand that learning is an eternal privilege and responsibility.
Sondra
I’d love to explore the TJE package. My kids are 9, 7 and 1.
Melissa
My children are 14, 12,11,9 I love the philosophy of TJE and would love to get this for all of my children and share with my grandchildren as well! History is the foundation for all learning and a understanding of history brings a knowledge unsurpassed by any other subject! To know the past is to learn from others triumphs and mistakes, to realize each day you are making history gives a person the tools to live each day to its fullest!
Jolie
Knowing history save you from repeating it. Studying history prepares you for leadership. Understanding history nourishes your mind. Loving history provided you with a lifetime of brain food. Our sons are 9, 10 and 12 years old. Their brains are hungry.

My children are 4.5, 3.5, and 6.5 months. I am a licensed public school teacher who is contemplating homeschooling my littles. Winning would help me begin my journey as a homeschool teacher. My 4.5 is very interested in history and I feel the approach taken by these materials will be a perfect (and affordable) fit for her.

My boys are 4, 7 and 9. I feel history is vital to learn. Like George Santayana said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” I wasn’t that interested in history during my schooling and am now enjoying learning right along with my children. I would love to add these resources to our studies. I don’t want my children to think that history is dry and boring, but to be interested and captured by it! Thank you!

My girls are 5,7&8. I feel that it is so important to connect with and learn from the people and events that came before us. My daughters are by far more captivated by history than anything else we read about. What a treat this giveaway is!
Danielle
I am preparing to begin homeschooling next year. We have a 6, 4, 18months, and one due in May. My oldest loves history and it has been a great way to teach all kinds of subjects. All of these materials I want to study this summer.

I have four boys – age 7, 5, 3, and 10 months. We are just getting started in our homeschooling journey, and I recently have been fascinated to learn more about TJed. It seems like it could be the right fit for our family, but I need to learn the how! I already believe in the importance of history – it is KEY to understanding our world.
Amanda C
My kids are 5 & 7. I definitely think history is crucial for our continual development. As individuals we learn from our own mistakes, and history essentially is learning from both successes and failures on a larger scale. We really are such a small portion of the world and time, but we can see through history that even individuals can make a HUGE impact on the entire world.
Rhonda Balkcom
My kids are 10, 8, 4, and 2 I want them to love history because it our story and how the world was shaped. We can learn so much from our past and helps us make a better tomorrow. Plus it is so darn interesting 🙂

I have three children: 8,5, and 1&1/2. I love history myself and find it fascinating. I’d love my children to have a firm foundation in history so they can look toward the future within the lense of the past.
Jennifer
I love history and I want my kids to love it as well. It teaches so much about other people and lets us examine the lessons other generations learned. It helps us learn empathy as we think about how we would have reacted to the same set of circumstances. My kids are 6, 3, 10 months.

My girls are 12 and 9, and I also have a 7-month old son. I want my kids to know where we fit into our history. I try to teach them that history is not just some old stuff that happened a long time ago, but it is also happening right now. I also want them to know how studying history can help them see the character of men and women in the past and how we can emulate those, while seeing the mistakes made by others and avoiding them.

My boys are 6 and 1. History is such a great base from which to join so many dots about the whys and whens and hows of life as they know it.

My kids are 5 and (nearly) 7 and history shapes us, plain and simple. Of course, cultural trends sway immediate reactions, but how did those cultural trends get there in the first place? History. I love history and my kids love hearing about ‘ true stories’ of people long ago.

My kiddos are 12, 10, 8 and 5. I didn’t appreciate, nor did I like history during my own public school experience. Now in my later years I wish I had gained a love for it because history can be really cool! I hope to pass on a love of history/learning (something that was lacking in my own schooling) to my kids. I want them to leave this world a little better than when they came into it.

My kids are 8, 6, and 1. I am just exploring the decision to start homeschooling next year, and I love what I have learned so far about Thomas Jefferson Education. I believe that history is important to study because it helps us to understand more about ourselves, our weaknesses and strengths, and what we can do to become better! My children are 6, 12, and 13…My oldest two are adopted and were never exposed to history before. My youngest has been a third-culture kid his whole life, so we are focused in on history as a way to expand our children’s understanding and concept of where we are in the world and in history and to expose them to great leadership through the study of historical leaders!
Kendra Tanner
My children are 7 and 3. I did not gain an appreciation for history until college when I had a class with an awesome professor who helped me understand the connections between past events and current social/political situations. My hope is that my children can gain this appreciation at a younger age than I did.

My son is 8 and my daughter is 6. I majored in history in college because of my own passion for history. To see that same passage be ignited and cultivated in my children would be wonderful. History connects us all. It shows us where we’ve been, how we impact those around us, and, as Patrick Henry said: “I know of no better way to tell the future than by the past.”

My boys are 10 and 6. History is so important to learn and understand because it teaches us why we do the things we do. Also it DOES repeat itself, so it is wise to learn from our mistakes 🙂

My children are ages 6, 5, 2, and 7 weeks. I loved history as a child, it was one of my favorite school subjects. I want to instill the same love for our past in my children. History is exciting, rich, enlightening, scary, sad, heartwarming, and carries many lessons we’d be doomed to repeat if we don’t take the time to remember and respect

I have a 5 year old and an almost 2 year old. This might be the first year of “officially” homeschooling since my son is due in kindergarten this fall. I love history, especially the chance to increase our capacity to love our fellow man by learning about the many who have gone before (and also to realize that there really is nothing new under the sun)!
Brenna
My girls are 6 and almost-8. Homeschooling history is the subject I’m most excited and most nervous about. I’m excited because I want to relearn and learn with them all that I did not retain from my education. But I’m nervous because I have no idea where to begin! I was not taught history in a memorable, relevant, or inspiring way, so I hardly know how to start. I would LOVE this opportunity. Thanks!!
Dawn Palmer-Van Camp
My child is 8 and we value history as an educational tool because it provides starting points for conversation, opens doors to questions of science, math, medicine, politics, economics, geography, religion, and the evolution of humans and animals. Most recently exploring our family history in the USA made my husband and I discover how recently our families had emmigrated to this country–sparking a desire to learn more about our families and their home countries. Even as Easter approaches, we have decided to approach the main meal not as typical Americans, but as food archiologist in the hope we will discover foods new to us that have historical significance to our ancestors.
Melissa Kate
My son is 5.5yrs and we’re just starting our home education journey. After scouring the web for homeschooling blogs the past couple of months the discovery of yours lifted a huge weight off my mind and it has become a shining light in our home. You introduced me to TJEd and it resonated so strongly, it’s where my heart was taking me but I needed to see that others were doing something similar to allow myself to believe in it. I would love to have the This Week in History bundle permeate our home and our lives – history is the web of life woven by those who travelled the paths before us – it can inspire, shock, and thrill us – leading us to discoveries we never dreamt possible. I didn’t do history at school for fear of being bullied, it wasn’t cool at my school, and yet I’ve always found it so interesting. So in starting home education with my son, without peer pressure or fear of rejection by classmates, I am excited to be able to learn beside him, catch up on what I missed out on, see what might inspire, shock or thrill him as we discover history together.
Mickey
My children are 7 and (almost) 2. I personally LOVE history and would love to continue learning it and helping my children develop a love for history. My kiddos are 9, 8, 6, and 3. We love history; I never learned much history while in school, and I want them to have a grasp on what has happened in the past so that they can understand people today. We are moving overseas, so I have appreciated helping them learn about the world rather than just the “world” they know in the US.
Dawn
My children are 4 & 8. I want them to have an understand of how this country was founded and what people did/sacrificed/fought/established so that he can learn and realize he has a part in that as well.
Becca
My kids are 10, 9, 7, 5 yrs, and 7 months old. I gained a deep love of history from a high school teacher who had a passion for history, and later, when my husband’s military assignments took us to other countries, and we got to visit many historical places for ourselves. That really made history come alive for me… but our kids were too young… they don’t remember any of it (or weren’t alive yet). I’d love to instill them with a vibrant sense of history’s relevance in their own lives. (Trying already to work on this, but this resource would be a wonderful addition!)
Toni
I have 8 children – ages 16 to 2. I emphasize history in our home because I can tie in everything we do: literature, math, art, music…… to history and make it real and engaging. I would love to use TJEd!

My daughter is 5. I never liked history as far as I can remember. Now that I am teaching her, I find myself very interesting! Why should we repeat the mistakes of the past if someone has already tried it? How have we forgotten the simple meaningful ways of living? So much good can come from studying history!
Meleah
My kids are 7, 5, and 3. I am not a history buff AT ALL but wish I was. So I’m hoping my kids will enjoy it more than I!!

My girls are 5 and 3 and I have been reading so much about TJed in the last few months and believe it is a great fit for our families learning styles, however history was not one of my favourite “subjects” in school so I feel a little intimidated by it. My kids are 12, 10, 7, and 4 years old. I think History is so important because we can see what others have done, and learn from the successes *and* mistakes of the past. Without an understanding of what has come before, it is much harder to navigate the present . I find history it is fascinating!
Heather
My kids are 10, 8 and 6. I want my children to have a passion for history because I believe it is important to know how we got where we are, what mistakes were made and how to interpret current events in order to make wise choices for the future.

I have a son that is 8 years old and I want him to have a passion for history because I believe that he will be a leader. I want him to be wise, fair, strong, and able to make correct decisions that will help others.
Having an only child means that I think he will need to have strength to stand up for himself and others.
This bundle would help me to make him a better man when he grows up.

My son is 9. I have had a passion for history since studying German history as an undergrad and realizing how much we need to know about the past to make ANY sense of the present. I also love how we Anglo-Americans (who do not have a long view of history like older nations) can learn where we came from, and how our modern culture and worldview developed from multiple strands, and those are very real and part of our day to day lives, from tumbler locks on our doors to Latin roots in our language.
Sarah
My children are 7.5 and 6. I never really liked history until I was older. I would like something different for my children, which is why I’m homeschooling. 🙂
I have been looking at this material a lot lately, but my budget doesn’t allow for theses books right now. I want so badly to read more about the phases and what to do during each phase.
Sarah
I like you on Facebook (have for a while :-)). I also like Tjed on FB.

My kids are 7, 5, 3 and a newborn and my older two are passionate about history — particularly my daughter who can’t get enough lately about reading about women’s suffrage in the U.S. This looks like a fabulous history resource!

My children are ages 15, 13 and 9. I believe great stories from the past help young people navigate life today; that goodness, truth and beauty can be found in the lives and times gone before. History gives roots and foundations.

My children are ages 10, 8, 3, 3, and soon our 7 year old will become part of our family. I want my children to adore history because it is my love language — I majored in history at college.

My kids range from 27-7. The last that are still homeschooling is 15,13,11,8,and 7.
I have read one of the books on TJ education by Demill. I thought it was great. I want my kids to learn more about history so they can appreciate the sequence of time and to learn from histories mistakes that we humans have made. I want them to live what our founding fathers promoted by understanding it.

MY children are 3 and 5. I want my children to understand how much knowledge we have gained and how much there still is to learn!

My wife and I don’t yet have children, however, when they come, it matters because knowing history is the best way to know what the future could be.
…Not just when they come, but even before then.

My girls are 13, 11, 9, 7, and 2. History has never been an area of strong interest for me. I’m not sure that I ever had any one communicate it with passion! That is not something I want to pass on to the girls. It’s so much more than a curriculum to be taught!

My children are 1, 2, and 4. I believe a solid understanding and knowledge of history is essential to their futures as competent, responsible citizens. To understand where to go, they first must understand where we’ve been.

My kids are 7, 6 and 2 and I think History is important so they can learn from the past.

My only child is 4. I want her to have the same love for history as I did. My love for history spurred me to be a History teacher. This love started with Virginia History where the FIRST English speaking settlement began in my home state, full of history and home to Thomas Jefferson. “To be a Virginian…

Our children are 6,5, 3, 1.5, and 2months in utero. History informs pretty much everything, and I personally want to pursue a better understanding of it — for myself and to pass it on to my children. Besides, having the print version of those books would be AWESOME. Currently I only have the pdf files.

My boys are 10 and 3. I’d like them to have a passion for history so that they have a passion for life and for learning. Learning is so easy via stories and history is endless stories about endless subjects. With a passion for history, much of what they learn, no matter what the subject is, will be effortless.

My kids are 8, 6, and 3 and I’m pregnant with #4. I’d love to win this especially for the books! I ant my kids to love history because it teaches us so much about people including ourselves.

My children are 5 and 6 years old. Unfortunately my school experience with history and classics was pitiful and I’ve never recovered. Although I’m not passionate about history, I passionately want to be. And I want to inspire my own children to love history and classics. This give away would support homeschool learning for all of us!

I want my kids (12,19) to know that world history is their own history. I think knowing our history prevents us from living in a self-centered bubble. Plus, truth is stranger than fiction, and history can be unbelievable!

My children are 5 and 3. We are just beginning our journey into homeschooling and TJEd seems like it may offer a great way of learning meaningful things, while at the same time, enjoying the process. I love history and believe there is a lot to learn from it, and I want to inspire the same love in my children.

My kids are 7, almost 5, and 2. Fostering a passion for history with our kids is very important to my husband and I, for a variety of reasons. Learning about our cultural heritage teaches us about who we are and how we got here, and learning from the mistakes that were made in the past is also an important thing!

I have a 6 year old that will be home-schooled after a year in public, as well as a 3 year old and a 1 year old. I hope my children will have a passion for history because it teaches us about the human spirit- the good, the bad and the ugly of what others have been through and the choices they have made and what effect those choices create as an outcome.

Our son is 3, We had to wait a very long time for our little guy and it has hightened our desire for him to have the fullest education he can have. With what I am learning about T J ED philosophy, he will be able to open the doors to unlock his personal potential. He already has a love of reading, with us reading to him since he was a newborn, so to continue to read and introducing our amazing world through history will be very exciting. We want him to learn about the success of others and how they did it, and also the failures and what not to repeat, as well as things to stay away from. So much to learn from the amazing people in our past and the events that make up our world.

My girls are 10 and 7. I hated history in school because it didn’t make sense and was so disconnected from itself and everything else I was learning about. I’ve only started to become fascinated in history as an adult, and I would love for my kids to learn about history in a way they can relate to so they don’t have ll those wasted years that I did.

9,7,3,and 8 months. We love studying history. We love to see how God’s hand is in all things, how all of our other subjects came about and make sense in the context of history. Knowing history gives them such a bigger picture and helps them to see all that has come before them, and helps them to see how everyday people made huge differences in our world.

Alana is 3.5 years old and I passionately want to her to learn and love history because I believe it can foster a child’s sense of connection to the world and her sense of knowing herself in it. Thank you
