Welcome to today’s giveaway, sponsored by Artterro eco-friendly art kits!
About the company:
“Here at Artterro we make Eco Art Kits, and there’s nothing else quite like them! In 2008, I was shopping for a craft kit for my young sons, and noticed lots of uninspiring projects, cheap materials and wasteful packaging.
I decided to make a high-quality, eco-friendly, engaging art kit so that parents would have a convenient way to bring art into the home and have a great time as a family.”
“Our mission is to bring creativity into people’s lives by offering fun projects with quality, sustainable materials and provide friends and families a wonderful art experience.
We also love to write about kids and creativity, and the joys and challenges of owning a sustainable business at our blog, and we truly enjoy connecting with our customers and friends on social media.
I hope you enjoy our kits as much as my family does!”

I have a 5 year old boy who, I think, would have so much fun with these kits. My son loves to tell stories and he does that all over the house. We have a peninsula in our kitchen (or the kitchen table) that he uses when he wants to build with small blocks or color. Thanks for the opportunity!
Megan M.
My kids are 8, 5, 3, and 2. We like to have regular craft times where they can use whatever crafting supplies they want.
Felicia
I have 2 girls, 6 yrs and 11 months … My 6 yr old loves art! We do crafts whenever we can, it’s our favorite thing to do together! We typically buy new crafts as gifts for each other and also go together and look for crafts for holidays.
Melinda
My boys are 8, 5 and 10 months. This past Christmas I made an art box for them, full of crafting supplies, ribbons, fabric scraps, etc. We keep it in our living room where they can grab it and get creative whenever they want to.
Julie
I have 3 boys…ages 9, 7, 5. And a daughter who is 1. I offer lots of free time without screens or electronics to see what their creativity can find for them to do.
Jessica Brammer
Our kids are 7, 5 1/2, 4, 2, & 4 months. Honestly the kids do a lot of crafting on their own but I would like to set aside more time to do it as a family.

My kids are 12, 11, and 8. I teach a homeschool art class in my home, so the kids love to help and participate with that. What a GREAT giveaway! We would LOVE to try your products!
Jonna Brixius
My kids are 3 and 5 and love doing arts and crafts. My daughter especially likes making birthday cards for friends and family.
Miriam Prantner
My girls are almost 4 and 7 and we have crafty stuff out all the time so they can always pull it out. Last summer I worked on a summer mini album with my daughter to document her summer, and we’re planning to do that again this year. We also try and set up more organized projects depending on the season.
Min
14,13,9, and 7. My kids have lots of free time and I try to let them choose the projects they want to do instead of forcing my ideas on them:)

We have two children who are grown. We also have a 12-year-old son and two granddaughters who are almost 4 and 2. Our son loves to draw so I make sure he has quality art pencils, erasers and sketch books out where he can grab them when inspiration hits. He also loves to sculpt with clay. Our granddaughters love to color, use watercolor pencils, paint and sculpt with play dough. I have those things stored where it’s easy for me to get to them, but not them! Thanks for the chance.

My boys are nine and four. We homeschool, so I try to provide daily inspiration-art books from the library, time outside in nature, Legos, lots of blogs give me inspiration on how to use various media. But, I will say, I would love for the boys to have more creativity – often my nine year old gets frustrated if his doesn’t look just like an example, which is defeating the purpose, I know…
Rachel Farmer
My kiddos are 7, 5, and 3. We have an art cabinet in the living room that everyone s free to access anytime they feel creative and an “invention supplies box” where we always have anything that should be in the recycling bin, that could possibly turned into something else wonderful.
Jeri Thurber
My daughter is 3, and we have art supplies of some sort in every room in our house. We keep paper packaging from the mail to use as large canvas for painting, coloring, or cutting.
Stephanie Wakeem
I’m a stay at home mom to a four year old boy and I try to leave art supplies handy inside and out, the back door open for him to have some freedom to explore and the flexibility to say yes when he wants to do something outside the box (ie: he loves to color his wooden blocks!).

I like Arterro and Simple Homeschool on facebook.

I have 3 kids, 7, 4, and almost 2. They love crafts, and I love kits that I don’t have to put together. 🙂
Kimberley
My son is 6 and loves to create things. I supplement with homeschool as he goes to Kindergarten 2 days a week. I find it helps him to concentrate better. We will be trying out grade one in the school system in the fall to see how he handles it. But he is very high energy and needs to be able to move to different activities when he wants to.
Elizabeth@Warrior Wives
My boys are 6, 5, and 2. I very rarely schedule art time but instead just make art supplies as accessible as any of their other toys; sometimes there are art projects in every room! Happy to have creative kids!

My kids are 9 and 11 and they still love to do crafts with me, which I think is wonderful! We make art easier to achieve by having supplies at hand as well as kits which can be a big help since the materials are ready to go. It lets the kids go either way depending on their mood and how much time they have.
AmyB
I have an 11, 8 & 6 year old…making time for creativity is hard for me! My to do list always gets in the way. Love these kits though…it’s all ready to go!
Marie
I already have Arterro and Simple Homeschool liked on Facebook 🙂

I have two daughters. One will be 6 in July. The otherwill be 1 in August. My 6 yr old has a desk in her room. Above has a paper roll that she can tear off sheets to draw on. She has buckets on top of her desk full of crayons, color pencils & crayons. She loves to draw pictures!

My children are 3 and 5. I recently set up art tables in each of their bedrooms, with art supplies out and ready to go. They are creating and experimenting every day now! We have recently discovered how wondeful kits can be for teaching new skills, offering new inspiration, and getting us all working together as a family.
Robin
my kids are 3 and 6 and our priority is making stuff. we love it !
Mary
10 year old boy and we always have drawing and doodling supplies on hand, so creative time is any time between activities. Pick up a pencil and get creative!

My buddy is 5 and we do everything. so much fun
Kristin
my kids are 6,4,2 and 6 months. we make room for creativity at the kitchen table… it usually gets taken over and I try to be patient with the mess since I know it’s important. 🙂
Stephanie
I am an artist so when I work on commissions my 8 year old daughter works along beside me doing her own art using any media she likes. Art is a beautiful thing, there is no right or wrong!
joanna
We love Arterro kits for gifts and travel! Great all in one craft.
We love Simple Homeschool!
Thank you!

Angela
My daughter is four years old, and we do crafts daily. In her learning room, she has an entire wall organized for crafts: different papers, writing utensils, paints, play dough, and extras (eyeballs, stamps, pipe cleaners, pom-poms, etc.). They are all out in the open for her to use every day. We would love to try these kits (we currently get the green kids craft box monthly, which has been a huge hit). Thanks for the opportunity!
Natasha persaud
My children are 8, 6, and 2. We have a playroom where we do all our art activities. Making time is easy since we home school. There’s lots of time to play!
Mary Jo
My youngest is 8. We have been homeschooling for what feels like forever. I started on this journey over twenty years ago with the oldest of our nine children. I could use some fresh inspiration.
Tammy Jones
My kids are 11, 10, and 3. We do art chalks and just made glue sun catchers which my daughter just LOVED.
elizabeth
Kids are 13, 10, and 9. They like crafting but I would like to set aside more time to do it together.
Meredith
We.love theses kits!
They are wonderful. I love that the children (and adults) aren’t bound to make cookie cutter art works!
Lisa H
My kids are 11, 9, 6. We leave lots of time open for creative play. Crafts (painting, gluing, taping, creating) are all welcome here at the kitchen table (the heart of our home) or outside on the patio. We love art projects. 🙂
elizabeth
I liked both facebook pages.

My daughter is six and two sons, 28 and 18. Yeah I know… my six yr old loves anything to do with painting and or gluing. She’s learning water color, well, experimenting.

And I like simple homeschool on facebook. (it’s actually my #1 recommendation for people who tell me they are considering homeschooling.)

They are 6 and 3. Yes we make time for crafts.
Melissa
My children are 12, 10, and 3. We have a “learning room ” where their creative adventures happen.
Chris
I have a five year old whooves crafts as much as she loves running and climbing outdoors! I have an old free standing cabinet that has been filled with her art supplies since she was a year old. She has free access to the majority of what it is in there, and so I constantly discover her latest creations around the living room. Lately she’s been into cutting and gluing, but she also recently started learning how to sew.
Cecilia
We have four beauty, 11, 8, 7 and 5. I have a safe place for them to fill their needs to create.
Tiffany Mazotas
My children are 5, 3, and 1. Sometimes we have scheduled crafts and other times it’s just spontaneous – like the other day the kids wanted to paint while Daddy took a nap.
Linda Veltheim
I have many grandchildren…additionally, we have adopted two children, an eight year old boy, a twelve year old girl. We spend time together crafting, sewing, gardening, cooking, canning, hiking and “exploring”. We don’t make time, we do spend time. Fresh ideas are welcome. This year, our little boy has learned to knit…and that has helped him greatly with his fine motor skills…we want to work on some beading to encourage the children to further develop their motor skills. These kits would be of great help….
~Heather
8 & 10 year old boys. I often suggest creative time, but also listen to them. If they have the inclination, I encourage it.
~Heather’s latest post: So thankful for…
Tiffany
My children are 18 and 11. I do not “make” time for creativity, it is always encouraged and in existence.
Kelly Reiss
Great kits! Great idea. 🙂
Chris
Two sets of twins, 8 months & 3 1/2. both boy girl… 🙂 We craft often at home! We encourage drawing & painting as well as input from them, asking the older 2 “what do they want to do today?” Can lead to some cool stuff!
Danica Geesaman
My kids are 7 and 4. While we occasionally have a group project, my kids are most creative when they work individually, but they won’t do anything if the materials are not readily available, so I try to keep them stored where they will notice.
toni koehler
My kids are 2 & 4. For creative time we are exploring nature a lot right now as spring and summer have begun. Also whenever they ask to color or craft i try to make it a ‘yes’ response 🙂
Stacey S.
Our children are 5 and 3. We always encourage creative time and our girls love it! We paint, do mosaics, make family cards and Christmas ornaments, and make sun catchers. This is an awesome giveaway! Thanks for sharing with your readers.
Mary Lou
I have 12 yr. old boy/girl twins and a 6 yr. old girl. We make sure they have plenty of free time to be creative, they play drawing games, and use on-line tutorials.
Julie
7, 5, 2, 2m, all boys!
We have creativity all over the place: cardboard boxes, rolls of tape, markers, staplers. They raid my recycling bins and make all kinds of things at all hours of the day. I keep our stash of messy paints and playdough in the kitchen to protect the carpets, but otherwise it’s a free-for-all. I have been known to sit down with a stack of old magazines, scissors, and glue, but only to join in the fun.
Emily
They are 7, 5, 3, and 1. We don’t have scheduled art time unless we are doing homeschool projects. But, there is always something being created at the house. We have a bookshelf filled with all kinds of paper and crafting supplies. Crayons and markers are kept up so only the big kids can reach, but otherwise, everything is free range.
Kate
My husband and I are both theatre artists so creativity is inherent in our home…however, having kits can be helpful for our kids because sometimes mommy and daddy get to absorbed in our own projects it’s helpful to have something ready to go, I like this!
Julie
My children are 17, 11, and 8. My 17yr. old finds her way to her creativity ventures on her own. My 11 year old, she does a lot of drawing/comic strips. She participates in an annual musical and likes drama, so we try to bring that into her homeschooling as much as possible (e.g. 5 week living museum experience). My 8 year old is the nut to crack really, more into sports – but I try and push the creativity envelope with him when he’s playing minecraft and sharing his ideas. He is quite a thinker so rather than “making” tangible things, a lot of his creativity is and stays in his imagination. We encourage his sense of humor too, which is also a way he is terrifically creative. He has strong spatial skills but difficulty with fine motor, hand-eye coordination, so I try to help him realize his creative building ideas without ‘taking over.’ I find my biggest task is helping him recognize his creativity (due to his physical limitations). He is getting more and more comfortable with drawing wild imaginative creatures, I think because there’s no “correct” representation. And always a wonderful story to go with it. So, I spend a lot of time looking at his drawings and getting the story.
Thanks!
Julie

Your son sounds just like mine! (he’s 9). There’s a contest my son is entering right now to win a free autographed book. They draw their own interpretation of a “cloven” (a character from The Wingfeather Saga – a FANTASTIC book series that I know your kids would love). so this creature is basically a messed up mixture of a human and more than 1 animal. It can be any thing they want. A cow with 2 legs and human ears and hands, or a scorpion tale on the back of a horse with a human torso…
here’s the link if you want to check it out… http://www.rabbitroom.com/2014/05/24295/

My children are 10 (daughter) and 5 (son). We have art and craft supply materials spread all over our house. My kids are drawing, sketching, painting, taping, glueing, wrapping, etc, all day long. Both of my kids learn differently. They have problems with expressive and receptive language. , Art gives them freedom to freely express their feelings and stories and memories and dreams. And we, luckily, have an art gallery all through the house to celebrate and enjoy their accomplishments.
Lorianne Stogsdill
My kids are 7, 4 and 2. We do crafts as part of our schoolwork, and they are always drawing and coloring, too. I plan on doing a weekly craft day during the summer.
Krystil
My oldest is five. She either spends her entire day doing arts and crafts or wants nothing to do with it, there isn’t usually an on between! We paint, sew, cut and paste, make models out of clay… My three year old is showing interest now, so a kit would be lovely!
Kayra
Kids are 12, 8, 8. I’m not a creative person so I let the kids lead the way. We do watercolor painting, lots of decoupage projects, coloring, and we are doing some sewing too.
Rebecca
College boy, 19, daughter, 12. And me! We value creative time but found that this winter it took a back burner to other aspects of family life. We successfully embedded creative time back into our lives by planning Craft Days with another family and scheduling FunDay with a single friend of mine. Now we’re back into a more creative life. Artterro kits the The Best and have been our “goto” birthday party gift for years!!
Sherri
Our children are 6 and 10 and very creative (as most children are!). We have a sizeable art supply cupboard near our dining table, and they have free access to it at any time. We also have a dresser of costume items and dress up clothing in our family room, along with a collection of various musical instruments. We enjoy lots of shows and concerts, complete with homemade signs and tickets. 🙂
samW
19, 17, 10, 9, 4, 1 – my kids love crafts & art & we have a big space in our homeschool room designated for such!
Jaime James
My kids are 9, 7, 5, 3. I’m homeschooling for the first time next year. As for the past, most of our craftiness fell during spring break and summer. We always spend the first day of spring break at Hobby Lobby. We buy lots of random things like felt paper, pipe cleaners, scrapbook paper, pom poms, etc and let them do whatever they like with them. they make some crazy stuff. This year we also bought a big container of pearler beads and a book and spent most of the week making pearler bead animals and castles. Summer just started yesterday so we haven’t gone shopping yet, but we will do it very soon.
Christy
My girls are 11,9,7 and 2. My girls love to paint, cut, color and are always asking for me to buy crafts for them. This would be wonderful addition to homeschool or just a rainy day. 🙂
Julie C.
I ave “LIKED” Artterro on Facebook. I have been a log time follower of Simple Homeschool. Thanks for this opportunity to try and win.
Sommer
My Child Is 7 And Is Autistic. We Incorporate Art Into ALL subjects. Its His Only True Interest. Winning This Would Be Amazing For Him.
Cinder
My kids are 22, 19, 9 and 7. The adults are away at college but the two homeschooled younger children work on some type of art every day. They study art and artists formally, do plein air watercolor, carry drawing diaries with them all the time. We have some dedicated art space in our homeschool room, and they mostly use the diningroom table! Art is an integral part of all of our lives.
Lee
8 and 6. Creativity is not formal in our home, we live creatively, sometimes that is in mud puddles other times gathering things in nature. I believe in good quality art supplies being readily available and encouraging my children to play. I’ve never used a kit before, that would be convenient for sure. It is nice to know there are good quality ones out there.

My boy is 3 and I am trying to find things to introduce to him.

We have 6 kids… ages 9-17. We make time for the arts several days a week on the schedule now that they are older… I have some that draw, sew, and use artistic skills in t-shirt design, costume and props design and graphics for their video making. My girls would love this prize, so I thank you for a chance to enter. 🙂

I’ve “liked” both Artterro and Simple Homeschool. (Well, I’ve liked Simple Homeschool for a long time…)
Carol
My son is 8 and loves to make things! He’s got a great imagination and is a master with the duct tape!
Kristi M
My children are 7 and nearly 5. I give them creative time as much as possible – I keep art supplies in a basket on their desk, and they frequently have project time after school on the kitchen table! I love the Artterro kits because the supplies are often recycled or repurposed, and the kits provide inspiration for a project without detailed instructions so that my kids can have more creative freedom.
Kristi M
I like Arttterro and Simple Homeschool on Facebook!
Carol
“Liked” Artterro on Facebook, been a fan of Simple Homeschool for a long time.
JJ
My son is 5, almost 6. We are able to fit time in for art by having the supplies out all the time. Then we can do it anytime we have the urge!
Colleen Ortiz
Ages 14 and 11. If my child shows an interest in something I encourage that and support it. We also try and make homemade cards for birthdays and special occasions on a regular basis. I also try and keep art supplies on hand for when inspiration strikes.
Erica
My oldest is 5 (girl) and we have weaved creativity throughout our day. When she wants a home for her stuffed lamb, we figure out how to make one from a box and scraps of fabric/paper. She folds her own books and tells elaborate stories she wants me to write. She also ropes her younger brothers into her “plays” or imaginative games by giving them names and roles to play.
Pamela
My children are 4, 8, 12 and most of our day is filled with creativity. Writing stories, making “projects,” painting, drawing, making music, building, etc. Thanks for the chance.
Erica
My kids are 7.5, 6, and 3. We draw, read about art, do projects, and do art things outside.
My kids would LOVE one of these projects! 🙂
Abby
My children are 7, 5, 3, and 1. Someone always seems to be creating something, and I like to have plenty of supplies so they can exercise their creativity and imaginations. I try and keep our supplies contained to a table in our school room with our supplies underneath.
Becky
My boys are 7 and 5. Craft/creative time seems to fall at the bottom of our list at times. Already planning some activities this summer.
Rebecca
My kids are 13, 10, 8, 2 and due in sept. I like to involve the kids in my art projects, like doing decoupage on an old changing table or rehabbing desks for them. Even so my little girl is always sewing or knitting or drawing, while the boys are a bit harder to inspire.
Melinda
I have a set time every day for Art and all things creative: 1:00 p.m. However, one of my daughters loves being creative. Therefore, she is a collector of things to create with. It might be empty kleenex boxes, expired coupons, etc. I allow her to collect these things and store them for future use if needed. What looks like trash to me, is creativity to her. She is an incredible creator!
Amanda C
I have a 6yr old and a 3yr old. We make art a priority in our homeschool day. My boys love to paint, color, and glue…most of all they like to see their masterpiece displayed on the fridge!
Melinda
I liked both Arttero and Simple Homeschool on Facebook.
Sarah Brown
Hi! My children are 7, 8 and 14 months and my husband and I both thrive on being creative so it is very important to us that they kids have time and space to do so! We have areas set up in the house in the kitchen, playroom and in their rooms as well. WE also have the kids art on display all over the house so they can see the importance of their creativity!
John
We have a 5yo boy and 2yo girl. We make time for crafts by finding something in nature and trying to recreate it. That will usually inspire them to make more. Make a tree, and then you have to make things to go into the tree, etc.
kim
My 9 year old son would love these kits. He loves experimenting with different crafts & media.
Amy R
My boys are 4 and 6. I encourage creativity by having a lot of supplies and making them accessible!
Sarah Brown
Thanks for the chance at the give away I liked both pages on FB!
Sandra
My kids are 12, 11, 9, 7, and 4. We began homeschooling to return our kids to their original spirit. We provide time daily for creativity, imagination, bui
lding, etc. We want thinkers, builders, inventors to leave our home.
They have full access to tools, supplies, recycled items, etc. to work with. (Sometimes it is difficult to manage the chaos!)

Ours are 8.5, 6.5, and 3.5 years old. We try to make time for creativity throughout the week — hands on science projects, making creations with items from the recycling bin, etc.

Tina Brown
Actually, I still struggle with this part of our homeschool. I guess my best answer is that I keep our day open so that there isn’t too much “school” to do.
Maha
My kids are almost 6, 3, and 5 weeks. We make time and space for creativity by having a pretty slow-paced lifestyle and not cramming a lot of structured activities into our days. The kids also have almost no screen time on a daily basis. This way, they have a lot of time most days to play, pretend, and create as they are moved to do so.
Maha
I liked both Artterro and SH on fb.
Marissa
My children (ages 8 and 5) and I love to spend time around our dining table drawing and crafting. This set looks so fun!
Michelle bergeron
My children are 5 and 2 and they love art/craft time we try to make the world our art sudio showing them anything can be used to make art. We are often in the woods and sometimes I’ll say ok today we need to collect little rocks and I won’t tell them why until we go to use them and in the case we made “little pond life” project which went from art to science lessons
Ashley
Love, love Artterro and all the creativity they encourage!
Kelli
Daughters are 3 and 5. Life is learning and wonderful project from Arterro bring life, science, and art all together beautifully and crafty!!
Angela Turner
My kids are 11, 8, and 5 years old. They all love to be creative and participate with various arts and crafts. We always try to find new ways to use leftover items or ‘old’ things to create something new. They love painting, cooking, building, creating. My oldest recently started making key chains with beads and ribbon. While we limit all technology, they also enjoy using art programs on the computer. We built cars out of cardboard boxes and decorated with all kinds of crafty items including Pom poms, duck tape, ribbon, paint, buttons, etc. We tie dyed tshirts, painted seashells and rocks, bird houses, etc. we love arts and crafts!
Christy H
My children are 2,4, and 6. I make art supplies and an area readily available for them to be creative any time they are feeling like it.

Maaike
We make time for creativity daily by having a table reserved for ongoing projects!
Stacy
My kids are 2 and 5. We try to allow creativity everywhere with toys and outside play, but also have craft supplies around and an art easel set up.
Stacy
I’m a fan of Simple Homeschool
Jennet
Thanks for the chance to win such lovely kits! My son is 5, and art is part & parcel of our daily life, since I am an artist and former art educator. Like me, my son recognizes that the creation process is both energizing and relaxing and we make art together whenever we can. Our favorite mediums are watercolour painting and anything 3-D.

Yeah! How wonderful, thank you! My children (Rafa 9, Elle 7, Leia 5, Julia 3, Alejandro 2, & Noel 5 mos) love to color and draw and paint. Well, not the baby yet. But I’m not much more creative than that. Thanks for the help!
Molly
I have a 3, 6, and 8 year old. I have always loved being creative. We used to have shelves and shelves of art supplies and included an art project in everything we learned. Since moving across the ocean, we have yet to build up supplies. And yet, my kids will still pull paper from the recycling to color or paint almost everyday. I love art for a healthy thing to ‘play’ at.
Jennet
I also already like both on Facebook. Thanks!
Stephanie
I have two girls 6 and 8. During our homeschool day arts and crafts time isn’t a scheduled part of our day, it just happens in the midst of whatever we’re doing. They may be encouraged to create something based on what they are learning or reading. We have bins we keep our craft supplies in, they go to it all the time. Sometimes, inspiration for a craft comes from walking through Jo Ann’s Fabric and Craft store and they’ll find a project they’d like to try. I love to watch their little minds work and figure things out.
Helen Levee
We have two girls age 2 and 13 and an 18 year old boy. All three are creative. Craft bins are labeled and ready for the kids to use at any given time. For larger family projects we use the kitchen table, smaller projects are done at individual desks. Making time for art has never been an issue for our family, it just seems to happen on a daily basis.
Sara
My kids are 6 and 11months and being creative is something very important to me, so we try and encourage both organized and free time for creativity. Crafts, building, drawing…
Angelique
Our children are 9 and 3.5. We make time for creativity in all the things we do whether it’s cooking together, gardening, or learning via hands-on activities. They also have materials for creating self-directed projects at any given time. I’ve been wanting to try the Artterro kits for awhile now. Thanks for the chance!
Jenny
My kids are 5, 3, and 1 year. We always set aside time for at 2-3 times a week, plus I have little baggies filed with art supplies in each of those bins for when they want to do some spontaneous art.

I have four boys ages 3, 5, 12, and 14. Homeschooling is the best way to give time to any creative interest. My little guys like paint of any kind, and my bigger guys enjoy using pastels. Legos and Lincoln Logs are popular creative outlets too.

My children are 2 and 4 years old. I encourage creativity by limiting television and scheduled activities. Additionally, I provide them with open ended toys and supplies that can be used for different ideas and play.

My kids are 5 & 6 (just a few more weeks until 7!) and we make creative things all.the.time. Just yesterday my daughter made a little aluminum butterfly (hot glued onto a stick so it could ‘fly’) and my son sewed up a little felt wallet (using the book Sewing School for Kids). It just happens naturally for us, since I’ve usually got lots of projects going myself. Right now I’m knitting a baby hat for a friend, and making lots of (reusable) fabric birthday bags for friends and family. It’s always out at our house! 🙂

17, 15, 13, 9, & 6- the 9yr old is our only girl. Crafting materials and art supplies are always available to our kids. Legos, recyclables, instruments, and costums are too. We encourage our kids to be creative and use their imaginations at all times, therefore we don’t have a set time to do art activities, unless it is a specific activity for school. Yes, we have a lot of messes in our house- carpet :(, but we also have 5 very creative kids- :).
Kits are nice because everything you need is already collected and, like in this case, they introduce/ teach you something new.
Rikki
My son is nine years old and mostly makes his own time for creativity. He gets up in the morning before his father and I do and writes and illustrates books and creates all sorts of imaginative toys out of whatever materials he can find around the house. I make sure he has a steady supply of modeling clay and paint and we occasionally visit art exhibits.

My children are 5, 4, 2, and 8 weeks. I’m currently working on figuring out how and when to add art and “creative” time into our schedule. But we do build a lot of legos around here!

These look so cool.

My boys are 14, 11, & 10. Creativity is a huge part of our home and homeschool. Whether through music, building, drawing, painting, welding – there is always some sort of creating happening. 🙂

Creating and “crafty stuff” is a part of our every day lives. My littles are 7, 5, 3, and 1 and my 5-year old is the creative thinker. We use beads and stitch work to do math, we use poetry and song to remember letter sounds and to help with reading. And just for fun, we have a crafty bin ready to dive into whenever she, or the others, get the urge. This giveaway would be perfect for my little crafty girl.

My kids are almost 6 and 2 1/2. They have constant access to art supplies in our homeschool room and are drawing nearly everyday. These kids sound perfect for my older daughter. Thank you for the chance to win!

3, 6, 8. basic craft supplies are always available and frequently used in our house. Kids can request special supplies but to keep them from being wasted (i.e. just dumped out on the floor) I keep them put away. Crafts are often a weekend project while art happens with weekly lessons.

I’m a FB liker of Simple Homeschool. 🙂

12 & 15! We have a craft night EVERY night and a bigger one on the weekends. My boys love just about anything crafty and hands-on. It’s also a great way for them to tell me about their day, thoughts, concerns, etc.

We try to find inspiration in little things. My 5 year old daughter has come up with great ideas in using “trash” to create little projects, and she has inspired me. I used to not consider myself crafty at all, but she has taught me to find joy in creativity and also that we don’t have to do big, complicate projects. I now find myself getting excited about it and even finding my own inspiration for simple projects we can do together. This looks like it would so fun – perfect for the two of us!
Charissa
My three kids are 7, 5, and 2. We have paper, pencils, crayons, scissors, glue, etc. out for them to use whenever the mood hits them. It’s fun to see what they come up with to make!

Hi there!
I love your blog! It inspires me daily, calms my worries and puts things in perspective, Thank you Jamie. My kids are ages 7, 4 and 2. I think we have very creative kids. They inspire me in many ways. They see wonder in every object they encounter. Their “Art” can be seen throughout the day. Whether they are water spraying their body outlines on the backyard fence, or they are rearrranging the pillows on a bed. From arranging their fruit on their platters to reorganizing our shoes. They love Art, from the everyday common objects to their Art supplies. Each piece is inspired from their beautiful souls within and put on display for us to just stop take a moment and marvel at the world of a child!

My kids are 2 and 5. We do lots of art stuff together. They like to color, make sun catchers, stickers, and so on. Winning this giveaway will make them jump up and down for joy!

what?!? what an awesome giveaway!
creativity is the core of our home- it is why we homeschool and how we arrange our home and life. we make our 1200 sq. foot home work for our family of 6 by choosing what we need in a home and arranging the home around that. our florida room is our dining/everything space, and our small original dining space has a small table and a wall full of shelving with our crafting supplies; neatly organized and labeled so that everyone can find what they need to create at anytime.
shannon
already liked SH on facebook, just liked artterro, too! thanks!

I have 3 girls – ages 2, 4, 5…our dining room table is officially our art center. There is constantly arts and crafts spread out all over it. Currently my girls are on the deck outside, coloring foil with pastels. I have also liked both sites on FB. Thank you!

My daughter is 4 and my son is 3. I make room for creativity by giving my children time to be creative in play. I make sure not to overbook their schedule and when we explore and learn through weekly field trips, I allow them to linger and explore at their own pace instead of pushing them with a heavy agenda. I also try to choose toys and activities for their home environment that encourage imagination and creativity. They love art supply! My son especially enjoys anything with play dough or cutting and gluing, and my daughter is especially drawn to drawing, and

My daughter is 7.5 and we are lucky to have an art studio at home that she can use anytime. However, in the summers we are commercial fishing and these kits would be wonderful on the boat!!
Karla
My kiddos are ages 6,4, and just over 1. I have an “art table” set up with paper, coloring books, crayons, trays, and all sorts of art media so they can create to their hearts’ content. I have extra supplies put away in drawers in case something needs replacing – markers, glue sticks, etc. My daughter loves to create her own paper dolls and little mini books and is always asking me to laminate stuff. I often find them drawing their own scenes, creating their own stories. Really, much of the process is just leaving them to their own creativity! But I often look up specific art projects to go along with a theme for the week, create sensory bins, make homemade play dough, whatever. And when special occasions come along, we almost always make handmade gifts. Oh – and then they help me clean up afterwards. 🙂
Florence
My kids are 14 (Aspergers child), 5, and 2. They are all homeschooled after lunch we go outside and explore. Ahead of time I research what kind of things from outside nature we can bring inside and make it into artwork we can frame. We either keep what we make or give them yo others as gifts.

My children are 6 and nearly 4. My 6 year old son is creative beyond my own imagination and keeps me on my toes. His younger sister follows suit in her love of crafts. I have learned that their unique idea are often far more fascinating than my own. We would relish some new ideas from Arteriosclerosis!

My kids are 6 & 3 and we like to allow them the freedom to create whenever they feel the desire. My kids are 10 and 7, and I believe that they are never too old for crafting. We have various art supplies for them to create anything they can think of whenever they want, but I have to say that happens less now than a few years ago. We are at a point where we need some new and interesting materials.

My kids are 9, 6 and 8 months old. They do a pretty good job of being creative all on their own. We’ve got craft supplies and they’re allowed free reign to create as long as they clean up afterwards 😉 Their favorite go to is probably the glue gun and cardboard from the recycle bin.

I love to make art as important as math and other core subjects. In doing so, I schedule three days per week to work on projects. Also, I encourage my two children (ages 2 and 11) to look for art within the core subjects I teach during homeschool and when we are out and about. We plan projects, which I allow them to choose and I encourage both of my children to be original and thoughtful when creating a piece of art. I make it a point to display their creations through out our home.

We have two daughters ages 10 & 12 yrs. old. Our youngest was in an art co-op class last year but it’s kind of expensive so this kit would help us a lot.
Honestly, I’m a sports mom and could use lots of help with arts & crafts. Both of our children LOVE arts & crafts. We have picture frames in our front room and each month the girls put a new picture up in the frame along with lots of other things around the house, refrigerator and their rooms.

Hello! Our oldest daughter is 8 and we will all be beginning our homeschooling journey together this Fall. This is such an exciting time for us: discovery of the world as well as ourselves. A large focus of our curriculum will be creating with our hands and our minds, and a great collection of art kits would be the perfect way to kickstart the family’s education. Even our younger 2 year-old daughter can participate and play with the different projects!
Have a great day!

I have 9 and 13 yr old daughters. They love crafting, and fiber crafts in particular. We keep a stash of roving and yarn, and lots of other bits of craft supplies, and they are free to use them whenever they have free time. My children are 6 and 8. We have a room designated as their “workroom” (the kids call it the “coloring room”!) where all the art supplies are handy and visible. I find if they can get to the supplies and plenty of paper, the creativity simply flows!
Marissa
My children are 3 and 1. Our oldest loves crafts and coloring. I provide the tools such as the paper and drawing materials readily available in our living room and then she makes the art 🙂
Ann
My kids are 10, 6 and almost 2. We have an art supply cabinet next to the dinner table, so anyone can access them whenever creativity strikes – which is often! We also plan special times for art when one of them sees a project they are interested in that requires special supplies and/or my assistance.
Michelle D.
My boys are 8, 7 and 2. One of the ways we make time for creativity and using our imaginations is by not having a TV or video games in our home. Every once in awhile we watch a movie. Our home is full of books (70%) and art supplies are always out and ready to be used.
Allie
My kids are 4 and 7 and we encourage creativity by keeping a variety of materials readily available and always saying yes to the “may I make a dragon/pinwheel/rocket/self portrait/volcano etc etc” question!
Bobbi
My kids are 9, 6, and 4. I also homeschool my 4 year old niece. We are a super crafty family! The kids had the idea to combine bedrooms so that we could make a craft room in our new house (smaller than our old house). We collect lots of miscellaneous things to craft with and learn a variety of crafts. The kids have even had a booth at a craft fair and sold their goodies and learned a lot from that experience! We usually do a few crafts a week, together, then they do a lot of independent crafting time as well.
Bobbi
Already liked Simple Homeschool page on Fb (of course! lol) and just liked Artterro page as well 🙂
Debbie
My boys are 6 and 8yrs old. We have supplies (paint, crayons, glue, different paper, play dough) visible in our dining room dresser to be used as inspiration hits or when I need to focus the boys and slow things down a bit.
Oh how funny, just read Ann’s comment above and I could have copied and pasted!
Debbie
I already “like” Simple Homeschool and have just “liked” Artterro. Looking forward to the inspiration!
Alicia
My children are 3.5 and 19 months, and we make regular times throughout the week to be creative with paint, markers crayons, playdough or whatever strikes our interest that day.
Beckey
My oldest kids that would use this are 9 and 6. A lot of the creativity comes just from their own ideas of things they want to make for play. I try to reserve a few mornings a month for more directed creativity.
Beckey
I liked both on FB as well
Christine
My sons are 11, 4, and 1. We have art and craft supplies in a closet, that they can get out to work on.
Kate Dickey
My children are 3, 6, and 8. Free time is a priority in our home and crafts often stem from that!
Kate Dickey
I have liked Artterro and Simple Homeschool on facebook. Thanks for the extra entry!
Rebecca
My daughter is 4. She uses her art and craft supplies every day on her own as well as I try to incorporate a more structured project a few times a week. I also often set her up with a project while I work on a craft project of my own.
Christa Epting
My kids are 8, 6, 2 and 5 weeks. We love art and keep a large craft supply easily accessible.
Tracey W.
Thanks so much for this opportunity! We have two 7 yr. old twins and a 10 yr. old. As far as creativity in our home, first of all my kiddos have a Mom who loves creativity, so it sort of “rubs off” on them naturally. 🙂 There is always free access to the “staples” of art (markers, construction paper, etc.). Besides having some time set aside just for art, lots of outside time spurs creativity as well!
Tracey W.
I liked Artterro and Simple Homeschool on FB!! 🙂
Holly Brown
My kids are “almost 2” and 3.5 yo. We set aside time every morning to do creative things like stamps, coloring, “making cards”, etc. Sometimes I’m at a lack of ideas but I know they love to do stuff like that so we try to do something every day.

Our girls are 7,5, 4,4 (twins). We have a art center (table/easel) set up in our living room. By leaving the supplies always out and trying to say “yes” to painting whenever asked, they are always drawing and creating.
Holly
Liked both on facebook.

My babes are 7,7,5,&4….we have the most fun being creative together. I think the biggest way we do that is not overscheduling our lives and looking for little ways to express what happens through the everyday….nature journals, observing the seasons, finding a different way to count or do shapes or letters, paintings as thank you notes, just little things and letting it be available. Such a blast!
(Have liked both on fb) 🙂

my boys are 18 months and 3 years old. so far they are not super into arts and crafts. we do a little bit of homeschool every morning and i try to include something creative that ties into our lesson. i keep trying to get them into coloring, painting, watercolor, etc but so far they loose interest quickly and barely make any marks. but they do enjoy playing with clay, building with sticks, cutting and taping, gluing, stickers, and things that are more hands on, 3D construction.
Ashley
My children are 12, 8, 2, and am due with another in July. I make time for my kids to be creative by allowing them to be bored. We homeschool and my kids have very limited screen time, so when they have free time they have to figure out how to use it on their own or I offer then chores to do. It is amazing what they have come up with! Like cutting up most of our paper plates to make animal masks to wear while playing with their little brother. I do not really have to make space because the whole house and outside is space. We do not have any formal rooms so they are allowed to make and do things just about any where, as long as they clean up their mess. However, paint and Play-Doh are at the table.
Ashley
I have already liked the Simple Homeschool FB page, long ago. I just liked the Artterro FB page.
Crystil Lee
My children are 1 and 4. My son has been doing art regularly since he was two. Its something he often asks to do. I make art supplies available to him and he creates all kinds of things.
Katie S
5, 3, and 1! We keep an easel out with lots of supplies.
Rachel
My boys are 3and 6 and we set up a small table in the kitchen that has shelves next to it containing markers, crayons, paper, stickers, scissors, etc. We spend a good deal of time in the kitchen so it is a good place for them to create while still being close. We also decorate all of our own wrapping paper for gifts to give a personal touch (and that way I never have to worry if I have paper for the right occasion!)
Hollie Murphy
My son is ten years old. Making time for creativity and creating is an absolute must in our household. I am an artist myself so there’s never a shortage of ideas. Having the creative juices flowing is essential to learning….imo. My favorite part about our creative time together is that I think we both enjoy it equally….we really get into our projects. It’ s always a proud/fun/fascinating moment when you can come up with something silly/amazing/useful from scraps around the house….some tape or glue…a little paint and stuff from the recycling bin!
Lauren
My boys are 6 and 3. Their favorite form of crafting is building weapons and the like so they do that a lot during their free time. We also incorporate lots of drawing and painting into our school time. I’ve liked both on FB.
Lyndsy Morlock
My children are 4 and 6. We always have an easel in our kitchen and our pantry doors are covered in chalkboard paint. We have craft supplies that are for projects and bins of items that the kids can use for their own ideas. Also, we have outdoor crafts for things like leaf rubbings, rock paintings and whatever else we come up with. My 6 year old prefers to come up with ideas on her own and my 4 year old son likes a guided project.
Cala
My children are 10 and 11. My son is dyslexic so crafts and hands on activities are vital in our homeschool to help him learn hard concepts.
Rachel
I like both Artterro and Simple Homeschool on FB.
Amanda C
My daughters are 5 & 6 and THEY make sure that art time is a priority. They often start some kind of art project whenever we have some down time, so I try to make sure they have easy access to various art materials (well at least the mama approved ones!) at all times. Then I try to plan days into our schedule for bigger projects like clay or outside painting.
Joy
I have a seven year old and a 16 month old so art projects mean running two at once in our house. We have a section of our upstairs set for all the time art but the “good” supplies are hidden out of baby reach.
Rebekah A
My kids are 6,4,2and2weeks. I love to craft. We try to have a craft day once a week or whenever we need a down day. My children like to create their own projects at times. Sometimes the projects without instructions are the best ones.
Marcella
We have a lot of art supplies available all the time and arts and crafts often just happen when the inspiration strikes. I often will want to do a holiday themed craft at different holidays and my children usually join in or create their interpretations of my idea.
Danielle Drown
My boys are 7 and almost 5, we are always drawing, crafting and creating. Usually they are the ones who initiate or creative projects or I will leave a picture of some crafty thing out and they will ask to do it. We do holiday crafts and nature inspired drawings or paintings. I leave lots of paper and crayons out because they always want to draw especially my oldest.

We have one girl followed by three boys–5, 4, 2.5, and 13 months. While we have a big supply of materials that the kids have easy access to, the best way for us to promote creativity is to stop and encourage them when they begin a project. Availability goes a long way!
Rose
My kids are 13, 11, 10 & 7 and creativity is mostly on their shoulders. Sometimes I plan time to paint or draw but mostly they initiate creative pursuits on their own. These craft kids would be fun for them!

My older kids are 21, 19 and 17 and all very artistic, enjoyed craft as young homeschoolers. We adopted a boy (now 10) from foster care and he is very active and doesn’t’ like to draw or do crafts much. I like to find hings that he will sit still for and will help him with his development.
Elizabeth
My kids are 5, 3, and 1, and I keep an over-the-door shoe holder on my pantry door filled with art supplies (crayons at the bottom, paint at the top!) so the kids can get what they want whenever they want to be creative and do it at the kitchen table.

My children are 10, 8, and 6 years old. Free time and accessible supplies, along with random additions from outdoors and around the house, foster all sorts of great creations.

I have a nine year old boy and two year old boy/girl twins. My children love arts and crafts (especially making jewelry) but we have few resources. My kids are 7, 6, 3, and 10 months. My kids love to color and do crafts. Although everyone loves crafts I still find it hard to make sure they always get their extra craft besides coloring in. Good thing I have set a goal to work on that!
Jill
My kids are 8, 6, 3, and 1. We save lots of every day objects in a craft bin and then when we want to do a project, we can look through to see what inspires us.

My kids are 8, 6, 2 and 8 wks…..we make time for art all the time. We rarely ever have the TV on, so they spend a lot more time working their minds out with their own imaginations! Both of my older kids LOVE, LOVE, LOVE crafts and art, and we use our kitchen cabinets to display their work. We also have a big window in the kitchen that the kids are always creating for – every holiday, every season, the window displays their creative efforts! We have an ton of paper, various writing and coloring utensils, a painting table and so forth. Art is always allowed, so they are always creating ;).
Christina
one child age 3.5…I guess I try to encourage creativity in several ways – through minimizing purchase of toys, trying to make sure the toys we have allow for creative play and have multiple uses, reusing things around the house into fun things, and happily we have a playroom that is able to stay kind of messy and that’s where all our arts and crafts supplies are. right now she is a little obsessed with painting, so we don’t quite paint every day…but almost!

I have three artists in residence, ages 10, 8, and 6. We make sure and have art supplies out and ready at all times. They know where all crafting materials are and know they are free to use them at any time provided they pick up after themselves.

My children are 4.5 and 7. We homeschool, and in the morning, we spend 1.5 – 2 hours on more formal lessons. These kits look great – thank you for the chance to win!

My kids are 3, 6, and 9. I have one VERY avid artist and 2 who like to join in the mix when the mood strikes them : ) We have art stuff throughout the house and the kids make use of it all through the day. Even my reluctant artists love to draw while we do read alouds each morning.

My girls are 6.5 and almost 4. Luckily my husband was an art minor in college so when I run out of ideas he usually has back up.

My kids are ages 13, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, and 1 and we have one more on the way. We love to be creative, but do struggle with the time. Thanks so much for letting me know about them.

My children are 6 and 4, and we have arty/crafty goodness ALL over the house! My 5 children are six and under and doing organized crafts with all of them is sometimes tricky. I’m not as organized as I could be, but I do purchase craft supplies and give the kids full access to the paper, scissors, crayons, glue, and other random pieces. They often surprise me with their creativity. The hardest part for me isn’t finding time to be creative, but putting up with the mess and teaching them to be responsible for clean-up. Art and craft are the most important and loved subjects for my 11 year old daughter. I have to make sure, she has time and space for it every day. Any of those kits would help us so much to accomplish this.
Marissa Wright
My children are 12, 10, 9, 6, 3, and 9mo. We don’t use a t.v. which lends a considerable amount of time to being creative. We also stock a large amount of paper of all types, markers, colored pencils, crayons, scissors, beads, and glitter. Having envelopes and people we don’t see often as well as hanging/displaying the art/creation is a good motivator too.

6,4, and 2 years….we LOVE getting filthy dirty with paint and then I throw everyone in the shower! Instead of paper we like to paint unfinished parts of our house: the basement stairwell, the stairs, the patio. We have a craft cupboard that holds all of our art stuff and I buy in bulk.
Sarah
My children are 9,7,5, and 1. We have closet full of artsy/crafty odds and ends. We have different papers, markers, pencils, paints, glue, scissors, etc, as well as paper sacks, cotton balls, beads, and the like. The kids are allowed free access to it. We usually check out idea books for different types of arts and crafts when we go to the library. The older kids also have things like rainbow looms, felt and needles, jewelry-making supplies, and the 9 year old has started some (supervised) use of the sewing machine.

My children are 6 and 13. We do not have any creative art resources yet. I am eagerly waiting the date of July 20. As my husband and I have both been working two jobs to be in a position where I can quit my job and Homeschool my two boys ages 18 months and 5 years old. I am extremely passionate about the Emilia Reggio Philosophy and will be using the project approach to teach my children to think indepentently and at a deep cognitive level. I think my favourite is the ATM they made out of an old basket and some cardboard 🙂

He is very curious and a very tactile learner so we try to always make time to incorporate some creative project in our studies. We don’t have much space right now but we find spots here and there to imagine. It would be great for him to get Artterro projects because they fit so perfectly in our Waldorf and Montessori teaching/learning style.

I have a 5 year old and a 1 year old, both boys! My older son has a little desk that opens up with all the basics inside (paper, markers ect). I cleared out his closet to make a little art room. My children are 15, 10, 6, 4 & 4. WE “do creative” in many ways, but our most frequent favorite is to pull out a bunch of things for one type of work. Beads, wire, elastic string, etc. or Sculpey, molds, utensils and baking sheets. There are always paint, markers, chalk pastels, rubber stamps and paper available, but if we pull out the tools for something, we can leave it on the table all day (or two) and come back to it over and over. The kids love feeling like there is no time limit.

My lovies are 5 and 3 and love working on art projects. I leave art and craft supplies accessible to them to use for both art time and whenever their hearts desire. My daughter especially comes to me daily with a new creation while I work with my son. Their art work and creations are always put for display and admired to encourage their love for creating. We always make homemade gifts and cards too for family.
Kate
My daughter is 3. We have family art time where we sit together working on our own projects and chatting about what we’re doing.
Laura
My boys are 4 and 3. I just set up a little table in our living room for doing arts and crafts, leaving art supplies in plain view and easily accessible.

My kids at home are 22months, 5, 10, 12, and 15. Crafting and creating are a big part of our lives. Several times a week we do projects together. The art and craft materials are accessible to the kids at all times and are used on a daily basis. It’s so much fun to see their different personalities emerge in their creations.

Our children 6 & 10. Our 6 y.o. loves drawing and is actually very good at it. Our 10 y.o. likes to work with his hands more. They can draw, color, etc. anytime, but I am not very good at having any organized craftime.

I just liked Arterro & Simple Homeschool’s fb pages. 🙂

We have a 12, 9, and 5 year old. This year we have enjoyed doing art a few evenings a week. This allows Dad to join in and makes for a less stressful homeschool day. I enjoy breaking a big lesson from one day into shorter lessons over the course of a few evenings.
Pamela
My kids are 5, 3, and almost 1! My kids have paper and markers/colored pencils available to them all the time. We live in a small space (600 square feet) so organization of materials
and storage are challenges.

My children are ages 11, 9, and 4. At least twice a week we include art or craft time into our homeschool day, but I also keep all of our art supplies easily accessible and the kids can use them any time they feel like being creative.

I have six children, ages 10, 9, 7, 6, 4, and 2. They are wonderful and BUSY and one of the important ways we ALL connect is by doing crafts! It helps me recognize the ways they learn and the subjects that they are most interested in! Thank you for doing such a great giveaway.
Amy K
My boys are 2 and 4, and we are totally still figuring out the whole creativity thing.
Desiree
Ages 9 and 7. I make craft/art supplies easily accessible. If my kids go through a long period of not using them, I’ll get a group project going and that will usually trigger creativity into other areas.
Valerie
Wow, what a generous and fun giveaway! Thanks for the chance. My kids are 10 and 7. We keep a supply of art materials in a very accessible drawer in the kitchen.

My kids are 1 and 10. In our family room one wall is covered in book cases. Most of the shelves are full of books, but we also keep the art supplies there. I like the crayons, pencils, markers, and papers to be accessible for the kids to follow creative ideas. I also like art so if they see me doing something they usually want to make something too.

My kids are 17, 13, and 8. We make time and space for creativity by not overscheduling, by offering art and other projects during down time, and by having supplies available. These kits look wonderful, I am thrilled to learn about them. I also liked arttero’s page, already liked simplehomeschool. Thank you!

My daughter just turned 6 and we like to create masterpieces daily, wherever inspiration strikes! I haven’t been able to organize much, but that’s the life of an artist! I have a cart full of crafts and papers and we are always looking for new inspiring projects, just like your kits. Paint, brush and canvas is very popular here, too. Had I knows about this product, she would have gotten some for her birthday!

I have a 2 yo son and 6 yo daughter. I homeschool my daughter part-time and after every subject that is completed she can either color the drawing in the workbook or the picture that is printed on the other side of the worksheet I created. When we are memorizing poetry she will draw a picture that relates to the poem she just memorized. We also send out home made cards to family and friends for birthdays and other special occasions that either my daughter will create/cut/color/glue/tape. My 2 yo’s drawings are also included with these cards. All the supplies are easily accessible and the kids practice cleaning up when they are done creating. My 6 yo also has a rubber band loom to make necklaces and bracelets for her friends and family members for whenever the sharing mood arises. During the summer, I bring out the finger paint for them to create their masterpieces outside. They paint on old posters that businesses are throwing out, since the backside is usually blank, or on butcher paper.
Laura
My kids at home are 8, 7, 6, 4, & 1. Too much mess or options make me crazy!! The only reliable ways we get creative play in our homeschool are kits (esp kiwi crate subscriptions) or me walking away as they raid the recycling bin 🙂

My children are 6 and 16. Since both of my children are boys, I try to use crafts as a way for us to bond and just spend time together. More so now than ever since my eldest will be off to college sooner than later. I treasure these moments. As for finding time and space, I make it a priority. My house may not be as tidy as I would like, and I may have glitter permanently imbedded in my kitchen table, but these small inconveniences are just reminders of our times together.
Heather Borchert
My kids are 8 yo, 6 yo, and 10 months. Making space for creativity for the older ones has been difficult with the baby. But they both love to be creative and use a variety of art supplies including oil pastels, rubber band loom, and perler beads. They would love an art set like the arttero sets. This busy mom would love for them to be able to be creative without so much time on my part!

10, 8 and 8. Art is part of our everyday activities. Usually as a part of imaginative play, we’ll need to make signs, posters, and labels.

I have 3 1/2 girls 🙂 8, 6, 3 and one on the way. Creating is just a way of life for us. My husband and I are always making something and it’s not uncommon to hear one of our girls ask us if we can make whatever new thing they just saw on tv lol. My craft room has become more of a family hangout and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

My children are 5, 3, 2 and I am working hard to let go of things… in that it’s okay to make a mess. We have a table that we basically just do crafts at and it is always out for all to see. In all of it’s messy glory. Markers, scratches… it’s becoming its own piece of art. Also, just letting them try all sorts of mediums.

My daughter is 3 and she plays all day with either me or her father as we work a split shift. At this age we aren’t structured but try to go by what she’s into. Lately, it’s superheroes so there are a lot of pretend capes. I try to let her get crafty with whatever we have available. For example, an empty tissue box was painted and we glued stars on it today.

My daughter is 3 and “arting”, as she puts it, is an all-day activity that she packs along – in the car, at the library, she even stopped in the woods mid-hike to draw last week.

My boys are 6, 3, and 11 months old. We have an old wardrobe that I have converted to our craft storage area. The older boys each have a drawer with items specific to them filled with books, drawing pads, sketch books, etc… They both have access to TONS of materials for any type of craft project. And, almost every day we have a craft project to do together. I have been doing this since my 6 year old was about 2 years old. He LOVES projects. We just finished making cards for a sick friend which we have been doing every few days for over a month or so. She is so happy (she has even bought us some supplies to make the cards with!). So much fun and to show others how much we care.

My girls are 2 and 5. They are naturally drawn to creating. The little sister mostly because big sister loves it. I am not good at actually allowing the messy creating very often but I do make sure we have paper, pencils, crayons, even pens around. When they are not making believ you can almost certainly find my oldest drawing or digging through some art supplies we keep in the closet to create something special like flowers or necklaces, etc out of paper, pipe cleaners and stickers.

My daughter, Isabella, is just a few months shy of 3 and my youngest is only 6 weeks old. Ever since Isabella could sit in a high chair we would finger paint. Now she is always asking to do an art project, weather it’s painting, drawing, glueing, or making bead necklaces she is up for it and can literally spend hours creating. We have so much fun and I know winning this would just make her day! Especially with her birthday coming up. 🙂

Hi Jamie,
My daughters are 6 and 4. You ask how we make time for art ad creativity, its actually, the other way round. They are always drawing and painting and then we have to make time for learning.Though we do sit down to do some art every evening together with ideas inspired from various blogs, (Our recent was an alphabet book from Moments of Mommyhood), most of the time they are drawing and painting from their imagination on sheets of white paper and then putting them up all over the place.

My daughter is 6 and creativity is not something i feel we have to make time for because it’s something that is essential to her daily life. As soon as she awakes, she is off creating something magical. It helps that we Home School, so our time is our time. Blessings!

I have a 6, 4, 3 and 1 year old. We keep art supplies at their level in the kitchen pantry right by the kitchen table (where we create). We try to dedicate time every day to art and expression. I love seeing them grow and love what they are creating.

My girls are 3 and 4. We converted our dining room into a school room so they’d have a space for being creative. There’s a reading corner, a desk corner, a toy corner, and an art corner. We eat off a small table in the lounge room.

I don’t do nearly enough creative activities with my son who is 3. However, we set time aside to work on the alphabet with flash cards and he loves to listen to classic music and Italian singers like Pavarotti! 🙂
