The prize

Dover is excited to partner with Simple Homeschool to offer a holiday prize introduction into the land of dinosaurs.

One lucky winner will receive our best-selling 20th Anniversary Calla Editions of James Gurney’s Dinotopia trilogy and our Dinosaurs Discovery Kit filled with fun activities to color and learn about dinosaurs from various eras.

What’s included in this package:

  • DINOTOPIA, A LAND APART FROM TIME (ages 8+)

In 1860, when unchartered territories still exist on the globe, scientist Arthur Denison and his young son, Will find themselves washed up on a mysterious island called Dinotopia, where humans and dinosaurs have coexisted for thousands of years.

  • DINOTOPIA, THE WORLD BENEATH (ages 8+)

Professor Denison and Will have been living on Dinotopia for several years, learning the marvels of this lost island continent. Now Professor Denison turns his attention to the ancient caves that point to a long-lost Dinotopian civilization that seems to have used a technology beyond any that the Professor has ever before encountered.

  • DINOTOPIA, FIRST FLIGHT (ages 8+)

Long ages ago the empire of Poseidos had threatened to take over Dinotopia and replace the natural world with man-made technology. Fortunately for Dinotopia, it was an age of heroes. One of the heroes was Gideon Altaire.

The second half of the book includes a bonus of over 45 new images, including never-before-published storyboards, concept sketches, and production paintings, plus new characters, stories, and backstory notes from James Gurney’s creative archives.

  • DINOSAURS DISCOVERY KIT (ages 8+)

Discover fascinating facts about the most amazing creatures to ever walk the earth.

Our Dinosaurs Discovery Kit includes: Dinosaurs of the Cretaceous Era Coloring Book, Dinosaurs of the Jurassic Era Coloring Book, Dinosaurs of the Triassic Era Coloring Book, Dinosaurs Stained Glass Coloring Book, Before the Dinosaurs Coloring Book, 4 large tattoos, 11 x 16 two-sided Color Your Own activity poster, and crayons.

I have three, dinosaur-loving boys. The 10-year-old loves maiasaurus because she looked after her young. He even emailed Dr. Scott the Paleontologist on Dinosaur Train to ask if he could go in a diino dig with him. The 5-year-old caught Dino fever too. He love ankylosaurus and triceratops. We have watched everybLand Before Time, Ice Age, and episode of Dinosaur Train. He even asks me to make him a dinosaur blanket. The 4-year-old is just catching Dino fever, but every time he sees a T-Rex, he roars and stomps. Honestly, these books would be a welcome addition to our worn out copies of Magic Scholl Bus Goes on a Dinosaur Dig and the Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs, both of which I can just about recite verbatim.
