Welcome to this week’s giveaway–sponsored by Home Science Tools.

From Home Science Tools:

“Homeschooling parents choose to give their kids the incomparable gift of their time, attention, and abilities. The return? Parents are present as their children light up with understanding and connect concepts.

Shared experiences make learning fun and engaging, and strengthen family bonds.

When families come together to discover the fascinating worlds of science – from infinitely small cells to gigantic galaxies – they create warm memories that kids and parents want to repeat and build upon.”

The prize

Just stepping into the backyard can be a wonderful way for kids to learn through play!

Today one lucky Simple Homeschool reader will win Home Science Tools’ Young Naturalist’s Backpack Kit (a $107 value)!

This kit is a perfect way to explore nature close to home, and includes: an insect net; a pop-up insect habitat; compact binoculars; a plant press; books on insects, wildflowers, birds and nature and more inside a durable backpack.

The Young Naturalist’s Backpack Kit is a winner of the National Parenting Publications Gold Award.

Check out one mom’s review:

“When we gave our girls (10 and 12) the chance to use these backpacks, science changed in our house. They didn’t just ask, “Why?” Nor were they satisfied with simply reading about science anymore. Instead, they captured/observed something, proposed questions to themselves and each other, observed behavior, formulated opinions, and researched answers in encyclopedias.” ~ Jennifer, June 2015
