This is what I want to use for Kindergarden next year. Mine will be 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, so we are hoping to get lots of use out of it as we start our journey!

I have 6 kids, all of whom have been homeschooled from the very beginning… But the one I would really love to win this for is my 13 year old son. He struggles with math and is below grade level in that subject. I believe he is much more of a hands-on tactile learner than my other children. I sometimes struggle with how to help him understand the concepts. We often leave the math time feeling frustrated and very tired. I have heard good things about Math U See, and I believe it may be a very good fit for my son.

My kids are 5, 3, and due this month. We are planning to use Math-U-See this year because it is presented in a way that helps children really understand how numbers work. I like that each lesson includes an instructional video, so my kids will be able to learn the material from an extra teacher and watch and re-watch as necessary.

I would love to win this for my daughter to use with her daughters. They are 4 and 2 now, but they will be homeschooling before we know it. Even though we always used Saxon or A Beka math in our homeschool, I have many friends who only use Math-U-See. I’d love for my daughter to begin with this. Thanks for the chance.

I have three children, ages six, four, and one. I like math manipulatives, but have never gotten to try Math-u-see. I did make a set of montessori bead material, but those little beads get lost pretty quickly! I think the squares and bars are a better idea.

We love math u see! My two youngest are ages 6&7, and flew through the alpha program and are already half way thru beta! They have gotten a SOLID foundation for math and ate able to do almost everything as a mental computation, never counting on their fingers or looking to the sky for a solution!
My oldest is 10 and spent her first 4 years in public school before we pulled her out. They taught her the craziest most insane ways of “doing math”…so she had a very shaky foundation…so, we started her all the way back on alpha this pay year and had her go thru the whole program to catch up to get grade level. I think this definitely helped her gain skill and confidence!
She’s getting ready to move on to a new level soon and we’d love to win it! 🙂

  32. Amy Coleman

    June 10, 2014 at 8:23 am

My children are ages 5 & 7.. They both have their struggles with math and numbers, and I would love to try this with them to see if it can help. I use all free materials and resources for our curriculum because buying curriculum is too expensive for me. But I haven’t let that keep me from homeschooling them, because I know its what is best for my family and my children and I know it is what God has led me to do. This will be our second year homeschooling.

My children are 2 and 6 years old. I would love to have this math-u-see because it is very important for me that my children master math, as a child myself I fell through the cracks for public school and as an adult struggle with simple math and have no idea how to do advanced math like geometry and my goal is for my children to never know the struggle

  62. Melinda

    June 10, 2014 at 8:38 am

My daughters are 20, 16, 14, and 11. I would especially like to use this product with my 11 year old. She is entering 12th grade and is a bit behind in math. What I have been doing with her just isn’t working and she’s a bit behind. Ironically, I was a third grade teacher before homeschooling and I believe wholeheartedly in “seeing” math and manipulating it with your hands. I just haven’t had the resources to use at home as I did in my classroom.

We are going to be homeschooling for the first time starting this year, and I would love to try out this unique Math curriculum! I know I need to find the “right” math for us, and with the sea of things out there, it seems to be the hardest part of homeschooling!

Why would you like to try Math-U-See? First, we are not happy with the math curriculum we are using. Secondly, I know several homeschoolers that are super happy with Math-U-See and their kids love it and it makes learning math easier and fun. I love that Math-U-See has Math Facts Sheets, That you are able to take your math lessons on the road with your Math-U-See Manipulatives app for Apple (Chrome, Android and Kindle Fire coming soon). I would love to try Math U See for my children ages 8 and 10. My children will begin home school this coming year and we have numerous reading and social study resources but have yet to find a math resource. The public school math curriculum is a huge factor in why I have decided to home school next year. Because my children are so close in age and only one school year apart from each other, I believe that I can use the curriculum for both of them together, which would be a double win! The additional manipulative aides would truly be an added benefit. I believe that hands-on and visual learning is so important and is some of what is lacking in public school, among other things. Thanks for the chance to win!

I am a Homeschool Virgin, single parent and mother of a wonderful 14 year old boy/young man. My son has begged me to homeschool him for years and I’m taking the plunge but feel completely lost for a math curriculum. He went to Montessori school in his younger years and I think Math-U-See would be a great way to learn the challenging concepts during these high school years (Grades 9-12). Thank you for the opportunity!

I have two children (so far), 3 and almost-5 (as he will tell you!). We are just starting out homeschool and my son is so anxious to begin learning as much as he can! I have heard so many good things about Math-U-See in surveying other homeschooling moms, and I am eager to see if it is a good fit for our family, but cost is really a barrier for us at this point. I would love to check it out, though, especially because I think the tactile nature of the blocks will REALLY appeal to my littler one and help her feel more confidence in learning with her big brother. What an awesome opportunity! Our daughter will turn six this summer, and loves math! BUT, I’ve been mostly just piecing it together because I haven’t been able to definitively decide on a program. She prefers hands on activities when she starts a new concept, and she struggles with remembering her math facts. She has to re-solve the problems each time. I’ve heard great things about Math-U-See and am interested in their approach to helping children remember these facts. I’m glad she conceptually understands, but I know it will make future math easier if she can memorize certain facts!

    Hi there,
I have to two very hands on and busy boys. One is almost seven years old (shy of just two days :)) and 5 year old. Both LOVE & appeciate math, but we had a bit of a bumpy road this year using Saxon and boy, did they let it be known. I really had to incorporate extra activities in order for them to finish and the curriculum itself was far too structured for them. They had to be on a certain lesson by a certain time. Saxon was also far too repetitive for my eldest and opposite of mastery, in my opinion. We finished out, but we are truly so eager to try Math U See this time around!! Both of my sons are mainly kinesthetic learners so I know this curriculum would be FUN as learning should be and nothing short of a blessing for our family.

Kindergarten! And I have friends that use Math U See, and I’ve watched the promo’s and I think it would be perfect for my tiny engineer (his grandpa is an engineer, and they think the same!) He’s not a paper and pencil kind of kid, so I know we need something different!

My sons are 5, 6, and 9. We adopted our 6 yo, and he has brain damage from prenatal alcohol exposure, that has caused memory problems and difficulty retaining information. I hope that the DVDs and multi sensory approach will make it less of a struggle for him to learn math.

Really looking into Math-U-See for numerous reasons… I really like how they use word problems a lot… I believe it gives the math “real world” situations and makes it easier to comprehend… Also it seems to have great reviews from others….

We also love MUS – my almost 7 year old so just started his 3rd level (beta), my daughter just finished primer and our almost 3 year old asks to “do school” playing with the blocks all the time! I love the simplicity of the program and the encouragement to go at each kiddos speed and not to move on until they have mastered a concept. We all enjoy it!

He had a lot of trouble with math this year due to the curriculum changes in his public school. Besides, he’s very visual and kinesthetic in his learning. This past year, we tried cyber school with my son who is 10 years old. We have decided to dive into the world of homeschool next year with him, and one of the reasons is that we felt he did not experience enough hands-on learning with cyber school. From what I’ve heard and read, Math-U-See is just that, hands-on learning in math! When I’ve asked at our co-op about math curriculum, Math-U-See has received rave reviews from many people. It seems to be tied with Teaching Textbooks. I’ve had a chance to try several sample lessons with Teaching Textbooks, but I’d love to try Math-U-See! I have a daughter who is 7 years old.
I would like to try Math-U-See because
1.the Manipulative used are so similar to those used in Stern’s structural mathematics and I am currently about to finish the final volume set of books in Stern Maths that covers upto grade 2 – 3 level
    2. I also checked out a few videos and found the way they teach algebra and other concepts brilliant and wished I was taught maths this way as a kid!
    3. It would be the most close matched progression from Stern for me

I am staying home next year to start homeschooling! I am a high school biology teacher and am excited but also intimidated with this next adventure! My kids are 8, 6, 2 and 3 months…and while I haven’t done the homeschool thing yet, my 2 older kids did really well with the manipulatives used in montessori when they were there, to learn math (and anyway, how does one actually understand math at first without manipulatives??). So, I would love this as a place to start with my 6 year old!!

I liked both pages on fb. This is going to be my first year trying Math-U-See Alpha with my kids, ages 5 & 6. I’m excited because it seems like this method will really help it “click”, instead of simply memorizing numbers. I also like that there is a teacher on DVD to help me out. 🙂

    Hello,
Our children Matthew 15, Mark 11, Christine 10, and Malia 9 all have unique learning styles. Trying to spend 1:1 time introducing new concepts can be a bit overwhelming. I’ve recently learned our daughter Christine whom we adopted last summer at age 9 has a processing disorder and I’m hoping Math U See will help her be more competent in learning math and possibly even enjoy it. Christine desires to become a veterinarian one day. I’m going to do everything possible to see that her dream comes true; but I sure could use some help or advice.

I really like Math-U-See. I have a son with NLD and Math-U-See has the tools to help him actually be able to do math without this Mama going crazy. It has also helped my daughter understand Algebra where she had “run into a wall” with the other curriculum we were using. With 6 kids being homeschooled, anytime I can get a great curriculum discounted or for free, I consider it a true blessing from God.

My daughterKat is going on 10 and entering 5th grade. She currently is having some trouble with math, for she doesn’t see it in everyday life. I know she could excel at it, if she could only see it. She is a bright reader, reading above her grade level. She loves to learn, but dreads the moment I mention math time. I have heard of Math You See and I think this might be the help she needs to finally get it and then there will be no limits to her learning.

    June 10, 2014 at 12:18 pm

My children are 4, 5, 7, 9 and almost 15. My oldest used Math-U-See in his early homeschool years, as well as the Stewarship program. We loved how it really worked with his Asperger’s. I am very visual, and the manipulatives really helped solidify concepts. I would very much like to continue the tradition with the other 4, but it is an expense that is currently out of our budget to make happen.

I would love to win a level of Math-U-See – we’ve been using it for 2 years with my now-7 year old, and I have a 4 year old coming up into a kindergarten level this year! 🙂 We do enjoy the program!!!

For the first few years I struggles with my child that just wasn’t “seeing it” when it came to math and numbers. Someone told me about math u see and it had forever changed her life. She has grown in confidence and no longer cries to do her math. I am so thankful for this curriculum.
We are now getting into the gamma book. Thanks so much for this opportunity. I also likes on fb!

My children are 2,3,5,and 6. I would like to use Math-U-See because it was the curriculum that helped math to “click” for my husband when he was homeschooled. I have a visual learner, a kinesthetic learner, and a logical learner and Math-U-See seems to be a curriculum that will engage and excite all three.

I would love to win a Math U See package because I think their approach to learning math is fun and effective. My children, ages 2, 4, 6, and 8, love to work with math manipulatives, and I think they will do best with Steve’s mastery approach. And I would with 4 kids, I would get a lot of use out of the program!
